  1. First used in November (had expiration date of Dec.) and no problems. Our March cruise (with expiration of Oct) and had trouble. So glad we brought extras. One package didn't have solution bottle in package. Proctor was watching and said contact Emed for replacement.  Don't know what we would have done if we didn't bring an extra in case! Poor wifi can cause lots of problems so make sure you are in a location with good strength. (we were in a hotel with poor wifi in room....will know next time!)

  2. First cruise was on the Galaxy. There is something so magical about that first cruise that is never replicated in any other one! We celebrated our 20th anniversary for that 1998 cruise. Took the whole family in 2000 as we were so excited. Sailed on the Century with our 3 children who then fell in love with cruising also!  Our son even got engaged on one cruise (our families cruised together) and then married the next year on the Royal's Freedom of the Seas. We are cruising addicts for sure and hope to celebrate on the Equinox our 43rd anniversary this fall. (Covid canceled the 40th, 41st and 42nd for us!!)

  3. We agree! We used Celebrity excursion and rode a bus to Louisbourg. Great trip as the guide explained things all along the way. Costumed characters showed life as it was in the fort. The "military" demonstrations were really interesting....especially the cannon firing! We loved our day in Sydney also. Plenty of time when we returned to explore the little city. Would love to go back to this port.....twice hasn't been enough!

  4. Hubby, who the keeper of time, thought it was 2pm. We had a 6:50 flight out so had plenty of time for coffee at the airport after checking our luggage in and going through security. (which had a long line as per usual every time we use SJU airport) It's actually quite a relaxing way to end your trip as you are not worried about traffic in the city on this bus. It's plenty early for a 6 pm flight. It was about a 30 minute traffic wise bus trip I think. We got to airport luggage area about 2:30 . From there to security was no more than 15 minutes. Now security was at least 30 minutes, maybe little more.....

  5. We did this option. San Juan has cobblestone streets and rough sidewalks. I wouldn't want to bother with the worry of my suitcase! When you leave the ship, the excursion had a truck with Delta airlines on the side to haul the luggage. We didn't fly home on Delta but it didn't matter. Our luggage was waiting with a Royal Caribbean employee with a sign . Showed our tickets for excursion and picked up our luggage to check in at the appropriate airlines. We walked around San Juan and went to the fort even. (Not inside) It's uphill going and downhill to meet the bus. Enjoyed our day and would do it again in another city if we had a late flight out.

  6. Both lines are very similar. Splitting hairs I'd say, but I do like the aqua class rooms better than Princess' mini-suite due to access to the spa on Eclipse. I like the International Cafe on Princess better.  Try the chicken salad! Celebrity food is a tad better in the buffet. Princess food doesn't change there much. We enjoy the atmosphere at the Movies Under the Stars also. Main difference to me would be the 15 days versus the 11....More vacation is the way I would vote!!

  7. Just to throw by 2 cents in......Our October cruise was delightfully cool when we reached Bar Harbor and Quebec City. We just layered up in the morning and by late afternoon, we had on long sleeve t-shirts and comfy. Quebec City was just beautiful with cool, crisp morning of blue skies and wonderful color on trees. I'm cold natured and just layered up with heavy sweater. No hat or gloves were necessary. So October cruise was cool in am and comfortable in afternoon. Definitely better than Sept.  2010 where we thought we were in the tropics!!

  8. The floating cabanas were not ready when we sailed so we booked the beach cabanas in the private area. They were great and well worth the cost for the 7 of us. (we split the total cost) Our cabana attendant wasn't worth what we tipped him but ooh well, we were on vacation, after all! No shirt, no shoes, no problems!!  He told us he'd bring lunch at 12:00 but by 1 we just picked up our own. Then at 2 pm, here he comes with a tray of food.....(hated to waste it so we made the men eat more burgers!!)

Yes, I absolutely am because I require a wheelchair accessible cabin and those are booking up over a year in advance now and a refund is not an option.   Thats why I HOPE my TA will know something Friday.  I already have the 2022 cruise and cabin picked out.

Stress to your TA that very few handicap rooms open. Tell her you have date and cabin picked out. RCI was ready to move my sailing when I told them I had the ship, date and cabin selected already. A good TA will state your need and most often RCI is willing to move mountains if possible!

  10. Replying to the original topic of basically how safe is Seattle, I have a cruise leaving there next May. Closer to the new year if cruise lines are a go, we will evaluate the circumstances. Right now, we have  15 people traveling to the cruise port and would like to explore Seattle for a week before sailing. Hotels are booked but they can easily be cancelled if the town of Seattle doesn't make their tourists feel comfortable. Lots of money could be spent there but only if there is an atmosphere of safety.  Right now, Not so.
