  1. Do you mean Hyatt Place Miami Airport-West/Doral at 3655 NW 82nd Ave Miami, FL 33166? We stayed there twice and left the car for two cruises recently. The Hyatt charges $5.00 per day for parking. I found a parking spot under a street light near an entrance to the side of the hotel and next to the pool area. We had no problems. Took an Uber to and from the POM. Fare was around $25 + tip I think. Will stay there again when I cruise from Miami.

Yes this is the one. Thanks for the info and reassurance! We are planning on booking this hotel!

  2. 138East: appreciate any answers. Hubby and I have booked a hotel room at the Hilton Penn Station near EWR. We arrive about noon and were thinking of taking the train to One World Tower so we can see it late afternoon and then as sunset and lights come on around NYC. (pretty cool...!!!) That is Friday night. Then coming back to Hilton. I assume safe on a Friday night about 8 pm or so) Then Sat. we want to see Statue of Liberty. Can do water tour or sail over and tour the island. Suggestions there are welcome.( Hubby doesn't need to see up close or Ellis Island as his ancestors been here forever. I saw it couple years ago.) We then thought we would walk around the area where ever we leave from. Another question I have is: when we leave NJ Penn Station do we take PATH or NJ Transit? Are they 2 separate ways of getting to NYC? Do we use both? How do we switch from one way to other? We are from a rural area and our town doesn't even have a traffic red light.......only blinking yellow!!! Help to all the above situations are welcome by all........

  3. Found a hotel which has an airport shuttle in the Doral area. Some of us are driving and want a safe area to leave our car for the 7 day cruise. Would this area hotel (Hyatt) be a good compromise for everyone? Need a safe area and dinner close by. Thoughts?

  4. New question here: Are PATH and NJ transit different? We want to go from NJ Penn Station to the One World Tower. Which would I use? (We are from a rural area so have No Experience with any of this! Also saw a comment that it is easy to get from Liberty State Park to the statue of Liberty. Can anyone explain this? We are doing the World Tower Friday afternoon and am open on Sat. Thought this might be do-able! Thanks, as always, for everyone's input and information!

  5. Do any of the Oasis class ships offer the laser tag Z? Saw a post many months back and made notes to try it but now can't find any info on it. We did the Escape room on the Harmony and had a blast! Would love to find out more about this activity.

  6. Yes, I have been pulled out at random at the Ft Lauderdale or Miami cruise terminal. Can't remember which because it was no big deal. Took me and my luggage to a separate room. All they wanted was to see the carry one suitcase. Literally opened it and shut it. Never lifted/touched a thing. Really did feel random, like just going through the motion as they weren't questioning me about a thing. Told me going into the room would just take a minute and they were right. A minute out of the way. No big deal and I wasn't offended. They are just doing their job. (I think........they didn't look for anything!) Of course, I didn't fit any profile.......aging grandma that doesn't walk well....!!!!

  7. We booked an Oceanview and just after final payment prices went down. For the same price we paid, we got a concierge class room with same original 2 perks. We had a 15 night sailing and got 5 pts. per night for a total of 75 pts. Doesn't really matter to us the points as we are elite and too many points away from the next step up!

  8. We are arriving EWR on Sept. 21 (Friday afternoon). Plan on staying at Newark Penn Station Hilton. Looking for a restaurant near the hotel or at least easy to get to. Sat. am we are going by PATH to WTC and walking around that area. Any suggestions for lunch and dinner Sat. Would also love to try a bakery, NYC pizza in either area. Thanks for any suggestions! We're from Tennessee so no need to try BBQ, cornbread or grits!! Lol.......

  9. I love the new design of the staterooms on the Harmony. Utilizes the space so much better. We have a room on deck 8 near Dazzles over the carousel. It was too noisy to relax out on balcony in the evening but room was quiet once you shut the door. The bathroom sink is now deeper so filling up a large travel mug is possible. Kudos to the designers!!

  10. We had a lovely concierge cabin on the Infinity. Are you going on an older M-class style ship? Don't think there is any difference in square footage of the room/balcony, but has a few perks. The nicest perk that I used was the luncheon provided on embarkment day. It allowed us to board, leave our carryons, and eat a relaxing meal until the rooms opened up. Every afternoon they delivered canapies to our room but we didn't eat them. (requested them to not deliver!) There is fresh fruit upon your arrival and upon request will deliver a bottle of sparkling wine. We had a beverage package so declined that too! There is concierge available to help with problems/requests, but we didn't need her for anything. We were on the 9th deck and read several complaints about the room being under the buffet, but we never heard a thing! We went through the Panama Canal so we appreciate the balcony overhang to keep the hot sun off our balcony. There were binoculars in the room to use so we often looked for whales but didn't see any! Would not have paid for the CC category but it was a free upgrade.
