  1. "I just remember that there was a Bruce on an earlier list.

Did you meet Bruce? Remco is going to be tough to replace."

Yes we met. Bruce and Remco shared the Captain's Club duties on the April TA. There were over 900 Elites, so two Captain's Club Hosts were warranted. About halfway through, however, Remco was told that he would move to his new position and began the training to be able to do bookings, and by the end of the crossing Bruce was more-or-less on his own. During the first European cruise (Norway) Bruce was told that there would be two new booking agents coming aboard, and that there wouldn't be room in the back office of Destinations for four people, so the Captain's Club Host would be moving, but when I left on Saturday, no new location had been determined. One under discussion was the Alcove just aft and starboard of the Art Auction -- a little dead-end spot not at that time used. Another was to have him at a desk in the Guest Relations area. But no decision had been finalized.

I will re-post the information I put on this thread a while back.

"3 vouchers per person, per day

They have a date printed on them, so no, you can't use two on one night and four the next

They are valid for the same drinks that would have been available in Michael's or the Sky Lounge, for the same time period, 5 - 7 p.m.

There are certain bars where the vouchers are not valid, nor can they be used in the restaurants. All of this is spelled out in the Elite instructions you receive on the first day.

No vouchers on embarkation day, and perhaps one other day during the cruise if there is a Captain's Club party that night."

    Dear :

We look forward to welcoming you on Celebrity Eclipse® on her Caribbean voyage. We want to let you know that, due to the extraordinary popularity of this sailing with our Elite members, during the Captain's Club Lounge social hour we'll be offering you the choice to enjoy your evening cocktails at various bars and lounges throughout the ship. This will allow us to continue to provide you with the highest quality service while allowing you the opportunity to experience each venue's unique ambiance.

On your upcoming Caribbean cruise, you'll receive three (3) Elite Beverage Vouchers for each evening. The days and hours of your Captain's Club Lounge remain the same, so you'll be sure to find fellow Elites out enjoying their social hour in the various venues. And, your menu choices for your Elite social hour remain the same, as well.

In the past, when we've had more Elite members than can comfortably occupy Michael's Club, we've moved the Captain's Club Lounge to the Sky Lounge. On rare occasions when even the Sky Lounge cannot accommodate all our Elite Members, we've implemented the voucher system for our members to enjoy the Captain's Club Lounge in various venues. In order to continue to provide you with the highest level of service, we would appreciate your feedback at CaptainsClub@celebrity.com.

We look forward to making your cruise an enjoyable one and hope you enjoy exploring the exciting venues we have on board Celebrity Eclipse.

  5. It is a real shame that the S-class ships don't have a Rendezvous lounge dance floor area, and that Michael's Club is too small and oddly arranged. No proper dance floor anywhere on the ship. That's not Perry Grant's fault. He plays where he is scheduled. Dance bands play in the Atrium, where they are scheduled, and that's not their fault, either. The M-class ships are more suited to ballroom dancers, and more suited to a Piano Bar, but now that Connie is doing the short hauls, and Eclipse is doing the 2 week cruises, Perry Grant fans follow where he plays. If Connie gets the two-week cruises in the future, most of us would be happy to go back to that ship, and back to Michael's Club.
