Rack of lamb in Chops is my menu item of choice. I’ve never known it to be unavailable on any ship. I guess however, there is always a chance they could be out. m

Does Coastal Kitchen have a dress code?
cruisegirl1 replied to Parkhopper's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Bothered? Far from the truth. None of this is important. I've seen crappy behavior from a variety of passengers. I have no idea (nor do I care) of their C&A status or (suite) accommodations. Six drinks? Not me. Maybe one. m -
The corkage fee is rarely if ever charged. Feel free to bring the bottle anywhere you want. M

Does Coastal Kitchen have a dress code?
cruisegirl1 replied to Parkhopper's topic in Royal Caribbean International
OP - sorry to hijack your thread. CK basically has the same dress code as the ship. Sailed several cruises with CK dining in the past few months, and while most men were in slacks for dinner, there were some in shorts. I would estimate 10% in shorts for dinner. So, your answer will be, "shorts are OK" And, of course, shorts are fine during the day. Have a good cruise. M -
Does Coastal Kitchen have a dress code?

I suspect anyone would be if they are dissed simply because they took the time and money to take lots of cruises. No big deal, folks reach the Pinnacle category every day. Some reach it in one year, some in 30 years. Ask your best friends why they are VERY touchy. M -
I would be VERY surprised if the name is changed to Concierge - for the reasons stated by Leaveitiallbehind. Cruiseboy89130 - do you have a source? M

Does Coastal Kitchen have a dress code?

It’s been a while since I’ve heard the phrase “some of my best friends are ………..…“. I hope your pinnacle best friends don’t learn the way you make fun of them. They may not think your jokes (bashing) are funny. M -
The restriction of the occasional Crown lounge HH access for diamond filters down often when Pinnacle members are totally restricted from the suite lounge. On some Cruises only the top 30 (or fewer) point pinnacles are allowed in the suite lounge. All the other pinnacles on board are designated to use the crown lounge for any lounge use. With the pinnacles, diamond plus, and diamond, that could be well over 1000 passengers on any particular cruise having crown lounge access. The limited seating dictates that somebody has to be limited during cocktail hour. At this time, Royal chose to allow the highest point passengers to have access to the Crown lounge and limit restrictions of those with fewer points. Just as many pinnacles have no knowledge or guarantee if they will have access to the suite lounge on any given cruise, the same would hold for any potential diamond happy hour restriction. One finds out once on board. It is not a big deal. m

Icon of the Seas - The New Disney Cruise Line
cruisegirl1 replied to SeanGR's topic in Royal Caribbean International
In the quarterly earnings report, most of what you read is competition with theme parks and Royal hopes to attract new passengers, multigenerational families with lots of $$ to spend (grandmom taking everyone on a family cruise). So if you’re saying that Icon is the new Disney (cruise), that is exactly what Royal was hoping for m -
New 3rd dining time for traditional dining
cruisegirl1 replied to cruiseboy89130's topic in Royal Caribbean International
It wasn't on the Wonder a few weeks ago, but it would be perfect for us. Hope it is implemented fleet wide soon. I read an article about the new dinner time it mentioned a 60-75 minute dinner teem allotment. I thought the new streamlined menu was to speed up dinner to less than an hour. At least that's what we were all told. M -

How does an innocent question about attire become a pinnacle bashing thread? M -
Guess I should have said, the JS guarantee can be anywhere a JS is located. Yes I do guarantees. Most of my cruises on non Oasis class are guarantees. I am a more selective on larger ships ( Oasis class) so rarely do a guarantee on them. And not on Quantum class as the guarantee balcony cabin can be obstructed. M

The JS can be anywhere. If location matters, a guarantee is not a good choice. If it doesn’t matter, it can be a good way to save a few $$$. m

Oasis Abyss slide - fun or scary?
cruisegirl1 replied to kuku77254's topic in Royal Caribbean International
FUN - It took me several years to give it a try. Now, I think it is fun and try it every cruise. I do the on-board zip line as well. BTW - I was clearly the oldest person in line. I won't tell you my age except to say that I had an 8-track player in my car when I was in high school. M -
Specialty Dining Program Update
cruisegirl1 replied to Cruising to Retirement's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Can't answer for sure but.......Had the package in Wonder in late January and could not get hibachi reservations except for 5 PM or 9PM. Had assistance from the concierge and still was not able to get Hibachi that week. Sushi restaurant was sold out for lunch and dinner the entire week. We were able to get 6:30-7:30 range at most other places. It was OK because we got the package at a great deal so didn't feel too bad that we didn't get to Hibachi or Sushi. I've heard they do hold back but that is to accommodate someone who boards and wants a specialty restaurant dinner a night or two. Not sure I will book it again without some type of guaranteed reservations. Good luck. I hope it works out for you and you enjoy the cruise. M -
Aqua fitness classes
cruisegirl1 replied to California Traveler's topic in Royal Caribbean International
California Traveler - Yes - Offered on many cruises and led by RC activities staff. Check the daily planner. Usually offered around 9AM. Pool is usually too deep for me so lots of treading water. Unless they are doing an exercise where one holds on to the side of the pool, they don't like anyone too close to the sides, in case the ship rocks too much. Classes are short, maybe 30 minutes. I enjoy the classes and go often. Oh - they are complementary. M -
They end at 5AM the day you disembark, so no. Many dispute this and have asked for and received drinks, but they are recipients of very nice staff if they receive drinks the last morning. If anyone is lucky enough to get this, please tip well as you may cost the staff their job. M

Celebrity and Royal programs are not combined. Points stay with each line although at some levels, status is reciprocal. Or, perhaps your parents reached D status when you were still a minor. That can also give you D status with just 38 points. Enjoy your cruise M
