Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I cruised on the Dream in October 2023 and had a great time. There were four of us (2 couples) in our group. Our only complaint was slow service in the main dining room a couple of nights, but we believe it was due to being understaffed. We have cruised on several Carnival ships (we are platinum) and we felt like the Dream experience was inline with our other cruise experiences since Covid.
  2. I will turn Platinum on my upcoming Carnival Dream cruise in a few months. Will I have early access to drop off our carry-on luggage in our cabin prior to 1:30 pm? I've heard conflicting information. We generally select an arrival time between 12:30-1:00 pm so we don't have to walk around for very long with our carry-on luggage.
  3. We cruised on the Breeze back in September, 2022 and arrived at 12:30 and didn't have to wait long but I feel like the ship wasn't sailing at full capacity. Fast forward to our cruise on the Breeze again (Jan 30-Feb 4) and it was stressful getting on the ship. Arrived at 12:00 noon and didn't have to wait long to get on, but once we were on, there were people everywhere and could not find a place to sit and eat our lunch on the Lido or in the buffet area. People were just sitting there waiting for their cabins to be open. It was a little frustrating that we along with other people, were trying to find a place to sit and eat lunch but there was no open seating. We finally gave up and just had to wait until after the cabins were open. I will be on the Breeze again in April and we plan on arriving at the port at 1:00 pm - that way, we can do the muster, then go to our cabin to drop off our carry on luggage and then head to lunch. Way less stressful for me.
  4. Thanks Eli-6 and Schoifmann! Appreciate the good advice. In response to mz-s - she did not purchase travel insurance.
  5. We have a two person balcony cabin booked on a Carnival cruise in 3 weeks. My friend found out yesterday that she won't be able to go on our cruise. My daughter and her friend are going as well, but are booked in another cabin. We know that she will not receive a refund for the cruise fare. Do we call Carnival and cancel my friend before the cruise or do we just show up at the port and not say anything? This will be my 12th cruise on Carnival, but I've never had a cabin mate cancel or be a no show. Also, we had planned to purchase Cheers. Once on board, will they allow me to still purchase Cheers for myself or would they charge me for two people since she was booked in the cabin? Thanks in advance for any advice.
