I was on Grandeur year ago in an outside cabin. There was a clothes line in the shower. You can buy inflatable hangers from Amazon. They take practically no space in your suitcase. You blow them up like a balloon so air can circulate & clothes dry faster. And do roll your clothes in towels first to get out most of the moisture.
More good tips. Thanks!
I was going to joke about leaving those hangers in a swimsuit for flotation in the pool but I won't go there! haha :D

Let's hope they are able to resolve this before crunch time.
If not, sponsors who are throwing billions of dollars into the America's Cup events will find a way around it all?
-
Does anyone know a tentative date for the scheduled opening of the America's Cup Village at the Royal Naval Dockyard?

Santa Claus pays visit to The Big U TONIGHT on Philadelphia's waterfront as the SS United States Conservancy holds an event to light the funnels and more.
Arrangements have been made to provide the most illumination to the Big Ship in years.
The lighting is set for 6:30 this evening. There will be a get together starting at 6pm at a steak house within view of the ship off Delaware Avenue.

Having cruised both, I would also go with Enchantment. Seek a stateroom in the stretched (amid ship) section. :)

Thanks for the review. :)

We cruised with "the King" on Empress years ago. Didn't see any white jump suits all week long. But, an Elvis impersonator performed at a Crown and Anchor event.

Thanks for the review and the great pics. Empress is our favorite mini "mega" ship.
So many wonderful memories of cruising Empress out of Philly to Bermuda and passing through the cut at St. George.

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to your full review. :)

I was telling a very old friend about when I worked for US Lines in 1967 and they gave us all a frozen turkey for Thanksgiving, bag I was carrying the bird broke on top step of subway stairs and bird rolled down the stairs at 14st, lucky it did not hit anyone, he lives in Jersey and goes to Philly often and passes by the SS United States and he belongs to

Hahahaha. That bird had flown the coup! :D
I also see the ship frequently. Sadly, she is looking worse these days. :(

One upside of an RCI excursion is that you will get a prompt refund if the tour is cancelled for any reason.
-
The balcony is a great mid-afternoon escape for some peace and quiet. It's like having our own private ship. :)
Of course, room service breakfast can't be beat. ;)
-
Hopefully, RCI will give the 'ole gal some new stateroom furniture? :)

The SS United States Conservancy is planning a publicity, fund raising drive.
Giving Tuesday is aimed at putting out the word that the effort continues to save the Big U.

Royal's ships are pretty nice, but if I had to pick one, it would probably be Majesty. I don't like the no balcony look and it looks a little smooshed :D
Some might says Majesty has that Sovereign class "hunkered down" look? :)
-
Thanks for the review and pics. Glad to hear Majesty is still making people happy. :)

Good morning, I would recommend posting/looking in the Cozumel port of call board for all the answers you're looking for: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=210
Great place to visit. We based our Cozumel beach get away (Nachi Cocom) on recommendations there. :)

Interesting on our last 2 cruises this the most recent to Australia we registered and nothing in our room,so we have given up.They have gone way downhill from several years ago anyway.
Gerald
We noticed on our last cruise the actual information was printed on standard sized paper; easy to overlook in all the info that awaits in cabin on embarkation day. The invitations used to be printed on heavier paper/cardboard.
Best to check with guest services on location and time. Meet and Mingle events can be a lot of fun, especially on a cloudy morning. :)

Alright, thanks, we moved back to 7532. The only other choices were right on the centrum, or mid-ship but too far from the steps. Thanks!
Looks like a good choice. Have a great time! :)

We just got off from Grandeur on 13 October. On embarkation day, you could check your carryon in the South Pacific Lounge (Deck 6) behind the Schooner Bar. We didn't use it. They did ask that you retrieve your bags by 1 pm when the rooms open up. They did call for a couple of passengers to come collect their bags...:)
BTW, every (good) thing you've read about Grandeur is true...lovely, friendly "little" ship :)
Good to know. We were approached by an RCI staffer in a stateroom area, offering to store our carry on bags but we also declined because we didn't want to part with cameras, etc.
Glad to hear Grandeur has another fan! :)

Thanks for the review, Larry. Glad to hear you had a good time. :)

I found the drink package to be a good value on longer cruises featuring four or five sea days. We also enjoyed a 20% reduction on our last sailing.

We usually take a pass and tell our attendant we know how hard they work.
Remember when they used to fold your clothing into animal shapes and did not use towels? :)

Thanks for the review and all the info so far. I had wondered where they kept checked carry on bags aboard Grandeur. Always a hassle to deal with that "light" luggage during the first stop in the Windjammer!
