  1. Hi We are on an arctic cruise on the Silver Endeavour in June and will be given polar jackets and pants as well as having other cold weather clothing. After the cruise we will be traveling and will not need these clothes nor do we want to lug them around with us. We will not be in a rush to receive them at home but do want to make sure they make it from Tromso, Norway to Los Angeles. Has anyone used a luggage service from the ship recently and how was your experience? Thank you for your help in this matter.
  2. Thank you all for your response. I appreciate the time you took to post. I would like to ask my question again. (I have actually ridden in a zodiac in calm waters of Alaska from land). I am asking if anyone has first hand experience (or at least first hand observation) with cruising and utilizing zodiacs or cruising where zodiacs were utilized and not utilizing them and if so would you please share your experience.
  3. Thank you both for the information and the effort to help me, much appreciated. I have researched and reached out to Silversea. Hoping to hear from people with first hand experience either having done the zodiacs or been on an exploration cruise and not done the zodiacs and how they felt about that. What I have read about AB people and zodiacs varies as well. Some love them, others think they are hardly worth the effort. I have read one review by a person who has done the zodiacs using a wheelchair on Ponnet but do not have a contact information to ask questions or converse. This has been postponed, canceled, canceled (Seabourn) and finally a go with Silversea. I know no matter what it will be a wonderful trip and we are very excited about it.
  4. Hi everyone. I am a paraplegic taking our first exploration cruise. Buck list item to see a Polar Bear in the wild. I use a manual wheelchair for mobility. We are on the Silversea Endeavour. Has anyone out there gotten off and on zodiacs while cruising with a mobility disability? If so would you please share your experiences? Thank you. Jean
  5. An aging dowager past her prime but still delightful. Took our first cruise on the QM2 last summer was surprised at the condition. Lots of banged up wood inside, stained carpet, dented furniture, etc. We enjoyed our cruise and our returning this summer just surprised at the interior condition.
  6. I use Lyft and Uber WAV a lot in LA. You will need to be willing to wait sometimes anywhere from 15-60 minutes for them. The driver also has to be willing to drive you to San Padro. You may want to consider booking an accessible van service. I use MidWilShuttle in LA though they may pick up in SD as well or can recommend someone. Very reliable
  7. We too were on a 2023 Arctic cruise which was cancelled in 2022 and moved to 2023. This was going to be our first Seabourn. I’m looking into Silversea as well. Done with Seabourn for now. We were not going into Russian waters just Norway. No excuse except it didn’t sell well. Luckily there are many cruise lines, cruise ships and destinations.
  8. Thank you. I just saw this as it has been a very busy day. We leave at 8 am tomorrow so if I can compose a coherent email I will and if not I will just go see them when we get on board. I need help sorting out our cabana reservation in Labadee as well. Thanks again. Jean
  9. @island lady- We never heard from the concierge. We are 3 days out. Is there a way to write the concierge or should I just wait until we are onboard at this point? Thanks for all the help
  10. @Biker19 thank you. More questions: - with a suite we did not reservations for any of the shows, is that still the case? -if we need reservations, how far in advance can you make them? (our cruise is this coming Sunday). Thank you
  11. @island lady Thank you that is helpful. I will plan on arriving at noon. I think I board on June 18 and we are on the same cruise. We have a sky suite and our daughter and her boyfriend have a junior suite. I am assuming they can tag along with us, I will play dumb if that is not the case and wing it from there. I find it funny that if the kids stayed in our suite they get benefits but since I bought them their own cabin they do not. Though I have found in the past that the concierge gets that and makes arrangements for them. Do they still use wrist bands? We had those on the Symphony in November 2019. Any other hints or helpful tips? This is our first time on Harmony. Also, disembarking, what time does it start and what time does it end? About how long does the process take? We found it went very quickly in New York.
  12. We depart this Sunday, June 17. We are in a suite and are diamond plus. By the time I checked in (I was out of the country with no wifi) the earliest time I could get was 1:00 pm. We will be in limbo from 11-1. When we cruised out of Miami on Royal they had a lovely suite lounge for check-in. Can we hang out there until our time? Is there a way to get an earlier time that I am missing? Thank you.
  13. Would you elaborate on your Infinity surprise as I booked but reconsidering on the Infinity
  14. HI I tries searching for the answer unsuccessfully. Does anyone have a list of which ships have actually been revolutionized that they can share? Also, a list of upcoming, if any, ships which are scheduled to be revolutionized in the near future? Thank you
  15. Just off Silversea Moon in Copenhagen, Denmark. Masks required on gangway, tenders, and Venetian lounge. Most people wear masks every where inside because at last count 22 guests with covid and 37 crew. Over 7%. So many cases people are isolated in their cabin as the deck 6 covid section has been full for a while. We are fortunate and lucky (you can take every precaution and still get covid so luck is a factor) at the airport with 2 negative tests two days in a row. Onward to the QM2.
  16. Thank you. I am not familiar with this brand but will give it a try. May see if my steward will give me a set from here just in case. I do have my own shampoo and conditioner with me but it wasn’t a good match for the humid climate that I’m not used too.
  17. Ok so this is one of those posts I’d laugh at, so please know I’m laughing at myself. I would like to know what bath products and what brand are used on the Queen Mary2? Especially if they have bar soap and what shampoo and conditioner they provide . If anyone knows this currently, I’d appreciate it. We sail next week. I’m currently on Silversea moon and really like their products. I could ask my steward for an extra set or bring the open ones…hmm thanks for the help.
  18. We were in Flam on June 15 on the Silversea Moon, we tenedered as MSC Virtuosa was at the dock.
