  1. You will keep the same cabin. You leave all your stuff as is. You do have to leave to go through Customs but you will be first back on the ship. I wore my bathing suit so I could sit in the Hot tub and watch all the newbies come onboard :)

Shhhh---if you buy liquor the first week you can pick it up the last night and have it in your cabin the second week... ;)

While the itinerary and shows might be the same it will depend on the ship and the sailing. We happened to do an Epic B2B and the Legends show changed for us. If you are like me you run around trying to do and see everything. That second week is gravy--you relax and pick and choose what to do, or not. I wish all my cruises could be B2Bs!

Hey thanks for the feedback. Our B2B would be in Europe. I did a search and people say in Europe u don't have to clear customs or immigration.

  2. OP...sounds like a great cruise. I've sailed both RCCL and NCL. You're in lluck with NCL. You won't have to argue with anyone about whether to wear a tux in the MDR. Freestyle is the best.

Actually, I sailed NCL aftre I had been on RCCL's best (Allure of the Seas). I've never had a bad cruise, but my NCL cruises were consistently better for a variety of reasons than my RCCL cruises.

Thanks for feedback. Freestyle is looking pretty good.

  3. We sail mostly RC. We have been on NCL and have enjoyed the cruises. We have been on Pearl, Jewel and Dawn. There are several things we like about NCL. The dress code is much more lenient on NCL. It is nice to not have to take the format wear. Also, we LOVE the Blue Lagoon. The wings, spinach artichoke dip and chocolate sundaes are really good! Also, It is nice to go to a few different places NCL sails to that RC may not. We have never yet eaten in a pay restaurant on NCL. The food, like on any other cruiseline, is very subjective. The desserts don't seem to be as good on NCL. We never went hungry on any of the NCL ships we have been on.

I would say, go ahead and try out NCL. No one can answer those questions about trying out a different cruiseline except you.

We enjoyed NCL, and are going again this November!

Thanks for the feedback. I like everything you said.

  4. We haven't sailed with Royal Caribbean, so I can't compare that to NCL for you. But as for an aft cabin: cabins in the bow and the stern will feel more motion when the ship is pitching than will cabins in the middle of the ship. (Think of a fulcrum.) If your wife has problems with motion, a midship cabin might be best for her. Is there some particular reason you are asking about aft cabins?

We did a Med cruise on the Jade four years ago (in the middle of the winter!) and had a wonderful time. It's a comfortably sized ship. We were in a suite (our only suite to date), and I'm sure that contributed enormously to our enjoyment, but we've been in regular balconies on other NCL cruises and enjoyed them as well. We like Deck 10 on NCL's Jewel class ships (including the Jade), as it is fairly high but still has cabins above and below, and it's a quick trip up to the pool deck and the

Whatever you decide, have a great trip, and congratulations to your wife on her retirement! (And what a great gift!)

I have read blogs about people raving over aft cabins. There are 8 suite cabins left on the cruise we like. Six are aft and two mid ship. So we will see

  5. Hi my wife and I have only sailed Royal Caribbean. We have been looking at Eastern Med cruises for May 2015, as a retirement gift for my wife, The cruise that really looks great for us is Norwegian Jade 14 day out of Venice. So my question to all you NCL cruisers, what can we expect from NCL, what can we expect from the Jade, and is an aft cabin a good pick? I've read many posts where people book aft cabins years out. I know I have asked a lot of questions, but it doesn't seem Royal has any long trips that excite us. One more thing before I open it up to your feedback, my wife can get a little queasy or seasick from motion, so is aft cabin a good choice? On all our previous cruises we have been mid or a little off mid ship. We have been on deck 6-7-8-10-11 and 12. Again thanks for any feedback.

  6. Krev, You can use Rome In Limo in both Rome and Livorno. We used them when we did 12 night Med cruise. This company is great. They will pick u up at ship; they have air conditioned vans; stocked with bottled water; they will take you to atm machines if you need cash; make bathroom stops, get close to all the action, where the large buses park blocks away. Anyway you have a great itinerary.

  7. Royal Caribbean offers a wine tour thru Tuscany. You would take this tour instead of going to Florence. However, Florence is beautiful. When we did the same itinerary; some of our friends did the Tuscan wine tour; my wife and I did Pisa and Florence; oh we did a private tour and did not use Royal for this city. We used a company called Rome in Limo.

  8. What a great review, I really enjoyed it. My DW and I are doing three weeks aboard the Jade in May, and can't wait to have an experience like you describe. I lived on Crete for three years, and crewed aboard a yacht, so Mykonos and Santorini aren't new for me, but my dear wife has never been, and just loved reading your review. Efharisto para poli for posting.

Hey chief. Let me know how you enjoy your med cruise on Jade. My wife and I are looking at doing the b2b out of Venice in 2015.

  9. Love the Infinity and I'm sure you will enjoy the British Isles itinerary. The ship is perfect IMO because of all the glass for taking in the scenery. I especially like Bistro on Five and Qsine.

This is a port intensive cruise and it may be a bit chilly, so you could forgo a balcony. Most of the time at sea there will be nothing to view from the balcony anyway.

I love the recently added outside cabins on Deck 3112-3144 even numbers. They have huge porthole windows. For the British Isles it is better to be down lower on the ship if you have any motion issues. It will be better for sleeping.

Thanks for the feedback. My wife does have motion sickness issues; love the feedback about not being able to see anything. We may look at a balcony; just because my wife will sit out there and read; even if she has to wear a jacket or sweater. I see u are from MD. I lived in Upper Marlboro for 20 years.

    cheers

  10. Good Day, My wife and I are looking at doing a 11/12 night British Isle cruise next May. It will be on Infinity. We have never cruised Celebrity; we have only been on Royal Caribbean. If you have feedback for the ship, the itinerary, or the cruise line I would appreciate it. We have plenty of time to make a decision.

  11. We were on an eight day cruise on the Jade last year. Going back for 14 day cruise from Venice in July. We really liked it and felt it was good value for what we paid.

We are also looking at doing the 14 day cruise out of Venice; however it will be May 2015; a retirement gift for my wife.

  12. We are sailing in the Med on the Jade for the third time in April. Love the ship and the Med. We took the 14 day Eastern Med and Adriatic 2 years ago in an Aft Penthouse and had a really wonderful time, one of the very best cruises. This year we are on a 10 day eastern Med out of Rome that overnights in Istanbul. You won't go wrong with this cruise believe me.

I believe we are also looking at the 14 day cruise out of Venice. Our travel agent said it's actually a two back to back 7day cruises. Thanks for your feedback

  13. My wife and I are looking at doing a 14 day cruise on Jade from Venice. It is Eastern Med and Adriatic. Can anyone who's been on Jade tell me how you enjoyed it; is it a nice ship; has it been updated in dry dock etc? Thanks. We have never sailed on Norwegian before; only been on Royal.
