That's really strange because for any and all cancelations (even non-Covid), taxes and port fees are the only things you can guarantee get refunded in "cash" while cruise fare can range from FCC to cash.

I canceled one back in November due to an exposure and they just gave me the full amount in a complete refund to my CC, no questions asked. I was fully expecting an FCC, so that was a pleasant surprise. Also took less than 10 minutes from the time I called to when everything was processed.

I booked through a travel agent and not Carnival? Do I cancel with the agent or with carnival?

Any yes answer means you dont board. Easy

Does that mean that nurses, doctors, assistants can not cruise. Some come in contact everyday. Of course they also are more cautious about infection control than most, so their chances are probably lower than the cashier at the store. How about ambulance medics of fire fighter medics? I would think that a yes would not necessarily disqualify you from cruising.

Everyone is always at the mercy of our fellow passengers.   Sometimes you get lucky (which you normally quickly forget) and sometimes you don't.

Can happen no matter the cruise line or the place on the ship.  You paid a premium expecting that other guest paying a premium would be of similar mind to you and you were disappointed. That is understandable.

Security has a fine line between being over bearing and allowing people to have fun.  Everyone there is a customer.

Unfortunately its luck of the draw unless you book a private ship.

If you are going to have a rule then you should enforce it. This is from Carnival's website; Guest must use earphones when listening to music or watching shows/movies on personal devices in public spaces. Bluetooth, portable and wireless speakers are only permitted within your stateroom and must be used respectfully and at a reasonable sound levels and times of day. Large speakers/radios are prohibited on board and will be confiscated.

Anytime that’s been on a ship recently remember what the price of White Hennessy is? Boss asked me to pick some up Ave asked how much it was for a case. 🙃 32 days and I can’t wait! Tyia

We found that most of the liquor in the shop were not much cheaper than Costco or Sam's. Certainly not enough to justify the hassle of bringing it back

We are mere golds.  I thought that there was supposed to be a large bottle of water as a gift.  We did not get any gifts.  Not an issue because we have Cheers and bottled water is included.

You have to ask for it at any bar.

The problem with the Carnival website is they do not address the J&J at all.  I sent a message to Carnival in July via messenger, and asked about the J&J.  They replied that the one dose is fine.  Really wish they would put that in writing on the website.  We too would hate to show up next month and find 2 doses of the other vaccines are in fact required.  Even if we got a 2nd J&J, it still doesn't change the fact that it is not listed.

This is from John Heald this morning:

    4 AstraZeneca: 2 Doses Covishield / Vaxzevria
    5 Sinopharm: 2 Doses
    6 Sinovac: 2 Doses CoronaVac
7 MIXED DOSES: Pfizer (1 Dose) + Moderna (1 Dose)

I just checked prices for October 30th and (for example) it shows $239 pp interior and when you get to the category with rates page it says interiors are:

    Interior

    Guest 1:$429.00*
    Guest 2:$429.00*
    I don't like their games....

I booked the 10/30 after seeing this post and paid $129 for a balcony cabin. It was $129 for interior, ov or balcony. The promo was gone the next day.

Can you tell me what time debarking started with the reduced speed the panorama has . I have a 1040 flight out of Long Beach and I’m wondering if I should change it to 1250. Thanks

Definitely change. Carnival recommends nothing earlier than 1:00pm for an 8:00 arrival time.

Thank you so much for this review. We're on the Panorama in April with a bunch of family members and it will be our first Carnival cruise.....we've sailed mostly HAL and Celebrity, with a smattering of NCL and RCCL in the past. We've never sailed from Long Beach.

I noticed that you drove up from San Diego, we'll be driving in from Las Vegas and wondered about the parking at the pier. I've been a little stressed thinking about that, as we'll have 2 cars. How was your parking experience? Do you recommend a particular time we should get there? We'll be staying in Long Beach overnight pre-cruise.

    Thank you so much!

The pier parking is $23.00 a day. $161.00. For the around the same price you can get a hotel the night before that includes parking and shuttle to and from the ship. I like the Hotel Current. In February we are going on a 14 day cruise and are staying at The Pacific Inn is Seal Beach. If you are coming in two cars I assume you will each need hotel rooms.

The point is they don't tell you with sick Covid cases popping....I know they are getting them and figured there would be a small pocket - those had coming on and maybe getting in port or off some.....

The Horizon was Green on Saturday and yellow again....

After the Visita blow up, CCL sending a letter means something, but to whom, (selected?)...John Heald has some convenient days off in the California aftermath...what timing...sweep in under the carpet - oh this is fun......

    What California aftermath?

    I'd like to add...

I wish there was a way to see them. Be cool if they opened a couple somehow before they open the cabins to cruisers.

Maybe they need a 3D VR model onboard

I always look at https://www.cruisedeckplans.com/DP/deckplans/  (need to join to see pics and videos. I joined years ago and it was $3.00 for a lifetime membership) You can also search your online search engine for the cabin # you want to see and often find videos of that cabin. The Havana cabana cabins are pretty darn awesome if everyone in your party is 12 or older. Also even an inside Havana cabin could be doable, because of the amazing Havana only pool area. Only those with Havana cabins may use and there are only about 70 of those. Check it out

Despite the constant recommendations I've never had to use Duct Tape or a hanging Shoe bag organizer on any of my cruises.

I always taken duct tape, a very small roll. I have used it once to tape a suitcase torn in transit from the porter to our cabin. This last time there was a very loud wind howling through our balcony door. I felt for the spot where the air was coming in and then covered it with duct tape. Worked like a charm.

Wrist-bands are visible to everyone -and hard to hide.

    Those who are vaccd.

get cool, green wrist-bands to be worn with pride

for the duration of the cruise, to maintain one's visible status.

Others do not, they get nothing.

If this was the differentiation wouldn't it be more cost effective to give the wrist bands to the unvaccinated? Then they only need 5%.
