Need opinions on “The 6 Highlights in 1 Tour” by Your Lucky Tours. Has anyone taken this tour? How is Your Lucky Tours?
We are trying to decide between this tour by Your Lucky Tours and the Holland America Shore Excursion “Veragua Rainforest Eco-Adventure & Tortuguero Canals”.

On the Zuiderdam, are VC Cabins with connecting doors (rooms) smaller than regular VC cabins? Or have less storage space? I looked on HalFacts, but could not find my answer! Thanks!!

Zuiderdam - 27-Oct-14 - 11 day Panama Canal Sunfarer

We have open seating dining and are waitlisted for early dining. We have always had fixed seating dining, so a couple of questions about open seating: There are three of us. Can we ask for a table for 6 or 8? Can we ask for the same table or the same waiter for each night? Thanks!

Is wine sold in Kmart on Sundays in Florida?

Thanks everyone for all your advise. We are now thinking about driving over to Houston and taking LAN. We have several different flights in Peru, so LAN can hook them all together.

Looking at May 2015 flights from San Antonio, TX to Lima, Peru, changing planes in Mexico City. AeroMexico has the cheapest flights, but my travel agent says that AeroMexico is not a good airline. Has anyone flown with AeroMexico? What were your experiences with AeroMexico and with changing planes in Mexico City? Thanks!

Looking very seriously at booking the Dec 22 South America/Antarctic cruise.
A few questions:
What was your most memorable moment on this cruise?
What are the "must do" excursions?
What booking "strategies" would you advise? The ship looks to be about 50% sold... Should we wait until after final booking?
Should we be uber concerned about cabin location - I.e, mid-ship? (A little worried about the "drake shake" )
Any words of advise would be appreciated!
We were on the Zaandam last Christmas/New Years in Antarctica. It was the best cruise EVER!!!
Our most memorable moments were cruising in Antarctica and the daily lectures. We spent almost all of our time on the deck right under the bridge or on the Lower Promenade Deck. If you go on this cruise, get out on the decks. The Crow's Nest was extremely crowded and stuffy.
The must do excursions were the penguin excursions, either in the Falklands or in Puenta Arenas. All penguin excursions sold out fast.
As far as booking, our cruise was not full and there were a lot of people who booked within weeks of sailing.

halfacts.com has a report of "no noise" in 4091 and pictures of the view
Thanks so much for the info!

On the Zuiderdam, are the cabins right beside the mid ship glass elevators very noisy? Looking at cabins 4092 or 5098. Thanks!

I spoke with a HAL reservation agent this morning. I was trying to get some prices on varies cabins on the Zuiderdam. The reservation agent told me that I could see all this on the website – She had no idea that the information was not readily available anymore.
After I lodged a complaint about the website booking process, I was directed to her supervisor. She told me that there have been a lot of complaints about the website, but not enough complaints that HAL would actually do something about changing it. So please, everyone call HAL and complain!!

Both 2629 and 2631 are great cabins. We like Main Deck outside cabins, especially if they are located near the stairs/elevators. You have one flight, up the stairs, to the Lower Promenade Deck, where you can be outside within a minute.

Let me begin by saying that I hate the new booking section of HAL’s website. I need to see the price of the cruise and cabin selections without going thru the entire booking process. With all the complaints about the new booking system, will HAL change it back and does HAL look at comments left on the Cruise Critic boards?

The buy one get second one for a dollar applies to alcohol drinks, mock tails ( non alcoholic drinks) and cans of soda. They must be the same drink. I can not speak to juices.
When ordering wine during happy hour, can you get a glass of house white and a glass of house red? Or do they have to be exactly the same drink?

Thanks for all of your recommendations. We booked the Rockhopper excursion.

Just found out that our cruise will stop in the Falkland Islands. Any recommendations on either of these two HAL shore excursions:
•Bluff Cove Penguin Rookery
•Elusive & Exclusive: Rockhopper Penguins
Thanks!

HAL will cash your traveler's checks - no fees.
For a cash advance on your credit card, HAL charges a 3% fee. That is in addition to your bank fees.

Hi-
Is this the same group that will be on the Zaandam on the December 18 sailing out of Rio? Thanks for the info in advance!

We plan to do Sugar Loaf at sunset. Are there plenty of taxis in the evening, at Sugar Loaf, when it closes?
-
A lot of cruisers decorate their cabin doors with garland and decorations. Instead of driving around your neighborhood to see the lights, walk around the decks to see the decorated doors!

How much is a taxi from GIG to PRACA MAUA and how long is the ride, (non-rush hour)?
-
I have read that there are three different types of taxis in Rio. Can someone explain the differences to me and the pricing for each type of taxi. Are all safe? How much is a taxi from GIG to the cruise port and how long is the ride? Thanks in advance for the information.
Forward Open Decks for Sail Aways
in Holland America Line
Posted
We have traveled on HAL’s R Class ships. During sail away, we usually go to the deck that is forward on the Verandah Deck, right under the bridge. Are there any open decks, like this on the Zuiderdam?
