Think of the air leg of the trip more for your convenience...if Southwest gets you there at a good time for you or has more options you might like, or (as in our case) your local airport has a lot of Southwest flights and is only three miles away then you chose well, even if you spent a few bucks extra.

It has been known to happen, so I advise you to keep checking regularly.
If it does happen, call 1-800-PRINCES as soon as you see it change, & tell them you want your cabin back. We did this last year, not wanting the upgrade we had gotten.

Yes, Smart Casual will do the trick. That's how we usually do formal nights.

All of our Halloween cruises have been in the Caribbean.
The ships celebrates it and go all out.
Quite true in the ships. I meant that the Caribbean citizens do not share our love for Halloween, so there isn't much for costumes except pirate garb.
-
If you look at any cruise ship deck plan and see what appears to be blank space across from your cabin, its not empty space.
Very true...there is a lot of white space on Princess Emerald deck. There are a lot of crew quarters there.
-
Bring something to dress up in definitely! (captions in Spooky Orange)
Dunno where you are cruising...if in the Caribbean you should bring your own costumes; Halloween is not a Caribbean thing.

We wanted a DVD player so I could see the dialogue. Princess sent up a technician to install it. Perhaps they would do this for people needing their own hooked up?

I have to say that if the Elite wants to charge something to his card it makes no difference to anyone else whether he keeps the purchase, gives it away, or sells it.
-
We have been Elite for a few years, and have not yet booked a suite. Although suites sometimes seem tempting we are already getting many of the perks for suites.
We can buy our airline tickets with the money saved.

We have gotten Princess key cards on every cruise, since 2001. Dunno before that

Losing the balcony would be something to complain about.
If you are booked in a balcony cabin you will NOT be "upgraded" to a window mini suite or window suite on the ships that have them, no matter how many categories higher those cabins are considered. Has been reported as Princess policy by those in the know.
I think OP is worrying about something that will not happen. If by some miracle it were to happen OP could & should call Princess ASAP and get back to a Balcony.
-
I guess just to be safe OP could use 14 punches and not use #15 until the very last cup.

Have you tried calling the cruise line? I do not know if this is a service they offer; but maybe it's worth a shot.
We always sail Princess...you can go online , request a ship by range of dates, then sort the response by date of cruise (or other means, like price, etc) and keep looking at the category of cabin you want. The deck plan will indicate which are sold or still open.

We went to Florence, which is quite a long distance from Livorno, in 2002. The ship's tour was "Florence on Your Own". The bus dropped us off & the guide told us to return to the same spot at the appointed time. It gave us all day to explore, see David, eat gelato at Vivoli, etc. The streets of Florence are stone, and you would want sturdy shoes. One of our bus-mates wore high heels and had a broken shoe two steps from the bus.
Also from Livorno others went to Pisa to see the tower...they found it dull as that was about all there was there.

I need photographic evidence so I can resolve an issue.
Gailjen...what you really mean is that you need a document to win a bet, right?

keep in mind that airlines make a LOT of money off of cargo, especially on international flights
Icelandair fills their holds with fish every time.
Our first trip to San Juan we saw an American plane being emptied of tons of carrots.

As to the laundry...as long as the bag is in the Elite's name anything can go in it.

Smirnoff, eh? Sounds like a good value.
A leading magazine for consumers consistently rates Smirnoff as the best.
We also like Luksasova Polish potato vodka...available in 40% or 50% abv.

Cape Cod is a pretty common name for a vodka and cranberry
Around here it is more commonly called the Cape Codder.

I would think that this would one of the few times Travelers Cheques would be the way to go. We do not carry a great deal of cash.
-
Twickenham's suggested Delta flight that arrives at BCN at 10:00 would be my choice. It gives you most of the day on Saturday for your explorations.

don't they have signs saying NO CELLPHONES in the customs area?
They have in Boston...Pete took his phone out of his pocket to check the limo service, & we were instantly surrounded by very stern-faced men.

Your passport will be stamped entering the Schengen zone
We have not gotten our passports stamped in the Schengen area since 2002. France and Germany look at them but do not stamp.
UK does stamp but is not in Schengen.

Thank you, Colo...I thought I was missing something.
Sometimes I'd like to know the air options before we book the cruise.

don't want cabin upgrade, where do I check?

After the final payment , will I be safe then. Or will I have to check up on it until we leave for FLL and still worry
Changes can happen anytime. We got upgraded on Emerald two days before sailing (luckily we loved it!) Keep checking as often as you like and if it does happen call ASAP.
Good luck & good cruising, Steve
