  1. We ran through a variation of this when we saw a price drop of $350 USD on our October cruise. We got the drop but then saw that we had lost $150 each in onboard credits. We called Princess and were on the phone half the day but got the money back as "Customer Goodwill." Only thing we were stuck with is that my sister-in-law's 3rd passenger fare increased from $399 to $449.

    Miracles do happen sometimes.

  2. You can find the short cruises on the Princess booking page...

    1) Plan a cruise

    2) Destinations

    3) Getaways (3-5 days). This is where you find them, not by clicking on Alaska or Caribbean or whatever. I hope you find something you like.

  3. Pre-booked excursions do not have to be paid in advance. Our experience is that it is billed at the end of the cruise onboard ship. This way, you can cancel or change until the closing date/time for your excursion.

  4. In general, if you have an Obstructed on Emerald deck by the bigger launches (usually towards the stern) you do not get a great view. The ones forward are over the smaller lifeboats & can have a decent view, especially if you are between lifeboats. Of course, these sell out fast.

  5. I used to work in the grocery and wine business, and one of the vendors gave me a mirrored plaque of Swan Beer from Oz. I have not seen it in decades, and surely not on Princess.

My former store sells domestic Fosters blue, & green Bitters for about $2.29 an oil can.

The one I always got a laugh about is the Sapporo (first had it in Sapporo in 2009, yummy!) which is brewed in Toronto.

  6. We congratulate our friends in Toronto upon their destruction of the Boston Red Sox in today's game.

We in Manchester are the proud patrons of Toronto's AA team, the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

  7. After you get onboard you can go to the Future Cruise Consultant's office and book a future cruise. You have a choice of choosing one or booking an unspecified future cruise. The deposit is $100, and Princess gives you a Future Cruise Shipboard Credit which varies from $25 to $150, depending on cabin chosen and cruise length.

Once you do this you have two years to sail on that deposit.

If your cabin drops in price you can call Princess any number of times for a price reduction...we did this four times on our Vancouver to China one.

  8. The photographers who go ashore have an assignment based on the number of pictures they take. If it's 105 degrees out in the blazing sun, do them a favor and let them fill their quota so they don't have to stay out all day.

  9. It wouldn't be so bad if they had some type of package deal

I got us a package deal on our first Princess cruise, Sept 21 2001, San Francisco to San Juan via Panama Canal. It was $50 or $55 for a welcome aboard bottle of Korbel and some fruit; a half-bottle with breakfast; and any size framed photo. The 8x10 photo is over on the right, on the bureau.

I never again saw these deals offered.
