    @Ladybug18Good to hear a recent update on taxi to Bruges.  Can you tell me what time you left the ship and when you got to taxi stand were there many taxis waiting?  Also were you able to pay with credit cards or needed euros?   I plan on leaving ship at 7:45am to catch taxi and hope that’s early enough.   Thanks

    @skatie
    The ship was scheduled to arrive @ 9AM. We met the other family we shared the taxi with in the atrium @9AM and waited for the announcement to say the ship was clear to go ashore. As soon as that announcement was made we made our way to the gangway and got off. In Zeebrugge passengers are required to take a free shuttle bus to the exit because it is a very busy shipping port. We took the bus and then found where the taxi stand was. We were the only ones in the taxi line and wr immediately got a taxi. The early bird gets the worm!!

    @sunfan03 The taxi has seating for 7 passengers, 6 in the back and 1 up front with the driver. We were 4 adults and an 11 year old.

    We rounded the taxi fare up for a tip so the taxi was $61 and change one way. I’d definitely try to share the taxi with anther family to cut down on the cost. We asked for a 3PM pickup so that we had plenty of time to get back to the ship in case there was an issue.

    @Ladybug18, what did you end up doing in Zeebrugge? I'm curious if there were taxis available in port...thanks in advance for sharing!

    @sunfan03 we got off the ship as early as we could and took a taxi to Bruges. We asked the driver to pick us up at 3pm and he returned at the agreed upon meeting spot at 3pm and took us back to the ship. We shared the taxi with another family so we split the cost of the round trip taxi (we each rounded the fare up to 50 Euros). One family paid going to Bruges and the other paid from Bruges to the ship. I was super nervous the taxi driver wouldn't come back for us but he did. It was a wonderful day and I am so glad we did Bruges on our own. The town is beautiful, make sure to do a canal cruise! The waffles, fries, chocolate and beer were excellent!

    thank you so much for all of the great suggestions. We will be traveling with our 11 year old son so looking for a Pub that is family friendly. We want to experience a true British Pub! Any of those places you suggested good for a family of 3? The Rag Bone and Short Rib entree sounds delicious! How far would you say that Pub is from the Premier Inn by foot?

    yes, at the same drop off point from cruise port.
    The Yellow city bus will have a sign on front window saying cruise port. Don't take other yellow buses since the opera house is a stop for many bus routes.

    when i did an overnight on ncl Dawn, last bus was 9pm.
    Dont know if that's last pickup at opera house or last leaving the cruise port

    Thank you for this information. That would be great if they run the bus until 9PM. We have an all day Golden Circle Tour and was hoping to check out the city after the tour.

    If you are not in the greatest shape I would buy the round trip tickets.  I made a mistake thinking I could walk down the 3 km.  The sign said 45 minutes but took me 1.5 hrs. Because it was so steep and my legs ached for 2cdays afterward.

    I’m sorry to hear your legs ached for 2 days after your hike down. We will not be be hiking down as we know our 11 year old son will enjoy the ride up and down on the funicular.

    NCL Prima Will Dock at Jekteviksterminalen 2 at 07:00 - departure already 16:00

    Jekteviksterminalen 2 Is the yellow and shortest route. On your way you’ll pass by the Bryggen Wharf.

    Fantastic, thank you!! I like that we will be docked where the route is shorter 🙂 We definitely want to check out the Bruggen Wharf so it will be great to walk by it on our way to the Funicular. Depending on the weather I think we’ll go to the Funicular first and then explore afterwards.

    The port (tram station: muziekgebouw/Bimhuis) is the first stop from the train station. You take the same tram back to the train station. You can pay with a contactless creditcard or debit card. Just scan the card when entering and leaving the tram. Check in and check out as we say.

    @harola awesome, thank you for letting me know which stop is the passenger cruise terminal. That great that the tram will take credit card as I was not planning on having local currency. Would you recommend we buy a round trip ticket for each of us or a daily pass? Do they have a family pass we could purchase for the day? If not is there a discount for kids under 12?

    It is absolutely possible to walk.

    Depending on which terminal it is 1.2 or 1.8 km (15 to 20 minute walk).
    Best time depends on weather and temperature. Decide on the time of day.

    @hallasm

    Thank you for your response.

    We figure we can look at the city on the walk over. Do you know if you can purchase funicular tickets on-site when we arrive?

    Tram #26. You’ll see the stop just across the street that runs past the terminal. You need the stop on the side of the tracks nearest the terminal. The #26 is the only tram that serves that stop so you can’t go wrong. They run every 7-10 minutes.

    Alternatively just walk - it’s only 10-15 minutes.

    @gumshoe958

    Thank you. We will be traveling with our 11 year old son and I think he’ll get a kick out of taking the tram.

    Is it the same Tram #26 that we would take from Central Station back to the port? Any idea how many stops before we get off at the port?

  10. We are looking to take the Tram from the
    Main Amsterdam Cruise Passenger Terminal to Central Station.

    What Tram should we take TO/FROM the Main Amsterdam Cruise Passenger Terminal to Central Station?

    We have a tour booked in the morning but afterwards we want to take the Tram to Central Station so that we can get on a canal tour.

    I wouldn't use either of those companies.  They are third parties and that just adds an extra layer in case of communication issues (and also usually extra cost).  Use them to do research, but also look to see if they mention the actual provider.  Always book with actual providers when possible, especially in a place like Iceland where weather can cancel, delay, or change plans in a hurry

    Thank you! I always try to book with the actual provider. We are not going to do the Blue Lagoon due to time constraints.

    I wanted an alternative instead of the taxi line at the port since I heard it could be up to a 2 hour wait.....and with 5 of us with luggage, not sure how that would work.....our flight doesn't leave until 7:45 p.m......Reykjavik has been a little more of a puzzle for debarkation day, for sure!

    YES, exactly!! We have the same concerns and what to do the day we debark in Reykjavik (we know we want to explore the city center). We have been struggling to find something that will work to get us to the city center from the cruise terminal that can accommodate us and our luggage (family of 3).

  13. @fishman620

    That is very interesting that you need to book a "tour" with them in order to use their service for pick up at the cruise terminal. I also don't like the unknown of if/when we can get the bus to Keflavik Airport later if we book a tour with them. I wish there was an easier option but having our luggage on hand it makes it so much harder. If you find anything please let me know...you can always email me... arial_capri@hotmail.com if thats easier.
