Ma: - Question about dinner reservations, which we've already booked online for the MDRs - do you have show your card for the time you reserved, they scan it, and hopefully there is minimal wait for the time you reserved?
How early should you arrive for your reserved dinner time?
Thanks in advance...
I booked my MDR online and I would show up 5 mins before my reservation time and have a seat in no time. Maybe I was lucky? You have to give them your card and they check against their reservation list. A couple of times, I actually showed up an hour early and they were able to get me seats within minutes. The only thing is that there were only 2 of us. Probably easier to get seats of 2. A couple of times I saw a long line when I was leaving. Not sure if they were the freestyle people who just show up or if they had reservations.

-There are 3 lights on top of the door, green=make room, red=do not disturb, white=a card is in the room power holder. Regarding the holder, I was told you can put a card of the same size (dd card, subway card, etc and the power will stay on), I wouldn't recommend it but just in case. I found out too late, I had an alarm clock that would turn of when we leave the room. :)
-2 power sockets in the table and one in the bathroom. blow dryer. A foot holder in the shower, I guess for those who shave their legs.
-enough space to put all of your luggage under the bed.
-latitudes pin at front desk
-book your shows/mdr online. Especially if you want to eat during the peak times. For the shows, they will scan your cards to make sure you booked or else you will go to the waiting list line.
-Manhattan dining room has band playing with dancing. They also had the performers from Burn the Floor doing routines at 9:30pm. Try to book a 9pm so you can see them perform.
-the Cirque dinner was worth the money, try to get a seat parallel to the stage. You don’t have to turn your head to see it.
-buy your duty free stuff on the first two days for an extra 10% off
- there are about 20 threadmills
- no self laundry machines
-o’sheenan can saran wrap for to-go and uptown grill has to-go boxes
-you can actually gamble from your tv
-I bought a case of water, taped my name/room number on top and the porters put it in a separate cart just for water when I dropped off my luggage.
-use a porter when disembarking in NYC. Saves a lot of time.
-if you buy duty free liquor, you get it on the night before disembarking. Too bad I can’t finish a bottle by myself in one night or else I would probably open it. Less to carry out. Cigarettes you get right away.
- I got charged cork fee even though I drank the wine in my stateroom.

I just got back from the Breakaway. That dinning room crew is impressive. With the amount of volume they have to handle, it was crazy. The crew was running around non-stop when I was there between 7-8pm and I was there twice. I learned to appreciate the job that they do. For some reason, they kept apologizing for being slow ( they were actually quicker than some of the fast food sit down eateries) but wifey and I knew it was a madhouse during that time. Also, we didn't mind since there was a ballroom band playing music while we were there. Also, at around 9:30pm the Burn the Floor group has a dance routine that they do during that time (check you dailies). We missed it since we are usually done by 8:30. If you have the time, go there at least once and see how these men/women operate.

throw them in the brig for mutiny. :D the ship doesn't really have to play by US laws.

My favorite area was over by the lagoon
What number is the lagoon area in the map. It is next to a tram stop?

Do they offer a 1 or 2 hr open bar for private parties on the Breeze. I remember seeing a price list of a 1hr or 2hr open bar for a private party of 20+ adults for $20pp. Who do we contact? Trying to plan when we (50+ adults) are going to celebrate.

I was able to get '07, '08, '09 cruises for my son who just turned 18 this year. I emailed Latitudes with the reservation number and ship names. That seemed to be enough because he was given Silver status.

Thank you soo much. Can I add put this link to my Nov. Breakaway roll call?

You can actually enroll your child online at age 15 I believe it is. I did this at one point for our DD. At the time, and checking again today, it allows me to login to her account but it doesn't give a level for her. When I click on latitudes rewards it comes up with an error screen - as it did last time I tried.
I was not able to register our DS who is younger.
Same with me. I enrolled her for our upcoming cruise and was able to get a userid/password but with not Lats info. I emailed Latitudes with her info yesterday. I will soon find out in a couple of weeks.

My son became 18 this year, so I emailed Latitudes with his info and past cruises. A few weeks later, his account was updated and he is now a silver. :D

If you decide to hang on the fence when one of the bigger planes is about to head out, hold on tight, make sure your glasses are on tight and cover your nose and mouth with a bandanna or shirt. dust and small pellets might get cha.

So you are NCL Platinum?
I'm 62 points in. I'm booked for a 7nighter next month. I booked when this cruise was offered under Latitudes Inside Offer. I'm hoping I get the 14 points after this cruise to bump me to Platinum:D

I just realized that I recently broke the 100 total cruise nights with 5 different lines. It took close to 10 years but yay !!!! Posting on the NCL board since most of the damage was with them. :D

I think the first cruise to the Florida/Bahamas started this week. I'll be on the ship next month. Need some info or can someone scan the daily. booked my dinner/entertainment plans and would like to know if they will be conflicting with other activites. when is the fireworks, white hot party, special activites throughout the day.

wifey doesn't want to cruise unless it is a balcony. she likes to stay in balcony to get fresh air, read or play her games. My teenage kids and I could care less and we have cruised without her a few times on inside cabins. We go on the cheapest rate possible. :D

Right ?/ :p Or at least drive the ship around a few Islands ...
What??? I would buy my own ship and have the captain sit with me:D

I wonder if it was high tide and the reason they left without waiting a bit. big ship, don't want the top of the ship running into the verrazano bridge.

Dear Cruise Critic Members,
Here is some further information on our new VIP Priority Plus package that was recently launched fleetwide.
The package is available only to guests in a balcony or mini-suite stateroom, on voyages of 3 days or longer. We are limiting the number of packages sold per cruise to a small number.
The package is available for purchase once onboard at the Guest Services Desk until 1:00 pm on Day 2 for all voyages four days and longer and by 6:00 pm on embarkation day for three-day sailings.
Pricing for the VIP Priority Package is:
$49 per person for 3-day voyage
$64 per person for 4-day voyage
$79 per person for 5-day voyage
$89 per person for 6-day voyage
$99 per person for 7-day voyage
An additional fee of $10 per person per day for voyages 8-days and longer, based on the 7-day voyage package price. For example: the price for one person on a 9-day cruise would be $119 ($99 plus $20 for the two additional days).
The VIP Priority package includes:
-Daily Breakfast and Lunch in Cagney’s Restaurant for all Ships, except Norwegian Sun, Jewel, Breakaway, Getaway and Epic.
- Breakfast and Lunch will be served in La Cucina on Norwegian Sun and in Moderno’s on Norwegian Jewel.
- On Norwegian Breakaway, Getaway, and Epic, guests can order from an upgraded Breakfast Room Service Menu PLUS one free banquet seating admission per person to either Cirque Dreams & Dinner on Norwegian Breakaway and Norwegian Epic or The Illusionarium on Norwegian Getaway.

-One bottle of sparkling wine per stateroom (except on Pride of America, where guests receive chocolate covered pineapple wedges).
-One 8”X10” or 6”X8” photo per person.
-Priority tender and disembarkation.
Thank you for your interest in the package.

enough of the banter. I'm "sweet" person but not a "suite" person. I really don't care much for priority tender-em/disembarkation, picture, wine or eating with the "suite" peoples. I probably would eat at breakfast/lunch at Cagney's just to see the hoopla. Is it worth $99 for me? somebody give me a breakdown on what I'm really missing. :D

I might cancel my Breakaway and book a quick cruise on the Sky to get in on this action.

If you see a person with an empty cart, just call them over. The thing about the porters in NYC is that you bypass all of the people that have their luggage with them. Even if I only have 3 luggages, i would still get a porter just to get out faster. They pretty much have their own line and they actually can cart the luggage across 12th if someone is waiting for you across the street. Worth the $10-20 tip.
