  1. I don't know about the age limit, but I suspect they are being cautious 'presuming' those 65+ may have health issues. I was there in my early 50ths and the heat was so oppressive, I had to head back from the ruins. I kept feeling like I was about to pass out with heat stroke. SO, I'm thinking that could be the issue. Being very fair skinned, heat knocks the daylights out of me. But it's a shame if that's their reason as everyone is different. Erika
  2. I searched and didn't see this (if duplicate, sorry). Cruilse lines Call for CDC to change covid testing policy Sure would make it that much less stressful and of course save some money for cruisers. I still say it's safer to be in a cruise ship than an airplane. Erika
  3. Love this question. We booked one for September. We figured it was costing us a whopping $16 more total from an inside. Normally we do balconies abut that would have cost us over $1700. We like to wind down at night watching the stars and listening to the ocean so hope this will be similar. Erika
  4. Kinda surprised since cruises are scheduled there for another month. And isn’t that still peak leaf peeping time? I know the weather will be cooling by then (actually my favorite weather time in New England). thanx Erika
  5. Personally, I think paying up front is better. That when when you get off the ship, you just go. No potential long lines to pay. We always have a long day of driving and like to hit the road. Thanx Erika
  6. Funny you should say that. We booked our excursions on Sunday and yesterday got an email cancelling our Bar Harbor excursion. I just looked on line to see what other options and there is NO listing for Portland OR Bar Harbor now. The sailing still shows those as ports, but NO excursions. Anyone experience this yet? (fyi, I posted on my roll call but not getting any replies. Erika
  7. Thank you. Appreciate the confirmation. Erika
  8. Question. Given that the ship didn't get in til 10:30, would it be safe to assume, that trying for an 11am flight after debarkation has a high chance that we would miss it? Best to schedule a 1:30pm flight out of Logan? Would hate to stress all week on missing a flight. Erika
  9. Thank you for sharing all of this. We just booked a cruise for September and this will be one of the ports. While I lived in MA for 19 years and did ME, I’ve never visited here. As far as the container park, they actually can be pretty nice. We’ve seen the one in Vegas and enjoyed all the locally owned boutique type shops. Hopefully yours will be open by then. Erika
  10. I have run a number of slot pulls. I list the way I run it from the start. I state I put my card in from the beginning. Yes, it takes a lot of work. Keeping track of all the participants and their wins, working with the casino to get swag for the high winners, ensuring everyone agrees the total in and out is correct. Getting change and ensuring everything is on the up and up. I don’t allow people to switch cards as they sit down to play. Last slot pull I had was over 50 people. Switching cards would take to much time. One reason I offer to organize is because I find them to be fun. Plus I usually find it makes the cruise extra special. Sorta like a meet and mingle where you get to know other people you’re cruising with. If people don’t want to participate, I’m fine with that. It’s everyone’s vacation to do as they please. Erika
