Jean - First off, I am very sorry for the loss for you and your kids. That must be terrible, and I offer you my condolescences very much.
2nd - welcome to cruise critic. You can find out loads of info on this board. As mentioned above, the waters can be rough. I do not know much about bahamas, and mostly just wanted to welcome you and hope you find the beach right for you and your kids. Have read about cable beach also. You might want to go to the right of the screen under search, and type in beach or something like that and see what you can find out.

Hi,
Some of the tour companies will come pick you up and bring you back, for a little more money. I'm sorry, but I can't remember who does what, as I have read so much it is a whirled up mess in my head lol.

Kroger - I've stayed at Quality Inn and Suites several times. Most comfortable bed ever. They are nice, has nice indoor pool and hot tub, breakfast is your typical continental breakfast. Never had any issues or problems at all. That used to be my first choice, very reasonable and great stay, but over the past couple of years they have really gone up alot, so I hope you got a good price!!

Depends on what you like to do. If you take a taxi, take a red license plate taxi, I even take a picture of the license plate, going to Drs Cave beach would be a nice beach day, inexpensive day, or sunset beach resort is also an inexpensive all inclusive day resort.

I was just looking at transfer service from Falmouth to Montego Bay, that is where Drs Cave Beach is. For adults, it was 20.00 pp in a nice air conditioned bus type thing. Less for kids. Anyway, you might want to look at their website. Again, I have not used them, but saw on here where some people have.

One of the ppl on my roll call said today that it was open. He said they were in the process of adding the chairs, etc around the pool and stuff, but the pool was open...

Hope this helps, and by all means, ask away in any section of this site and 99% of the people are very kind and helpful. Don't let that 1% of the rudeness of others back you away :)

HI all,
Is there a transport or shuttle to go from Falmouth port to Drs Cave with roundtrip service?
How much would a taxi (red plate) charge?
Would rather go with other ppl instead of just the 2 of us, any advice is appreciated. Oh, and how long would it take to get there say one way?

Found a great transportation option for those that are arriving in Falmouth and wish to go to either Montego Bay or Rose Hall. RT for only 14.00pp to Rose Hall and 20.00pp to MB. Includes Secrets in Montego Bay as well as other options.

Thanks for sharing!! Just sent them a email. Thinking of Drs Cave Beach all day and roundtrip service. Sounds easy enough :)

Galveston is a very fun town!! You will be so glad you booked for Galveston versus Hobby!! You can see parking lots anytime, but to stay near the ocean and all the restaurants and atmosphere, another Galveston hands down.
-
Dinah - Thank you so much for posting this information and to the OP for asking!! We have alot of people booked at Galveston Beach Hotel from our roll call in May and we wanted to know the scoop!! Enjoy your time away from everything and have a safe and great trip!!
SSB - See you on board in May!!

Hi all!
I haven't been on RCCL since my very 1st cruise. Going next month on Serenade and Navigator in May. I keep reading about ppl making reservations for the shows. Is this highly suggested or is it likely we won't need reservations. I looked on their website but couldn't find anything about making reservations for the shows.
Please help, taking my daughter for her 1st time on RCCL and want to show her a great time.
Thanks so much, I really appreciate all the info and kind responses over the years!

Hobby to I-45?
IAH to I-45?
Thanks so much!!

OP:
A huge thank you for the info regarding RCCL Navigator out of Galveston May 25, 2014. I was able to score my 1st balcony at those prices and just really appreciate your kindness in posting.
Thank you again!!

Well if you don't call you know you will get zero, so why not attempt, takes a few minutes and you might end up with something unexpected!!
-
Have a great time!! We sail out on Feb 8!!
-
I, also, have 2 nights booked in May, great location, so hoping it will be ok, and it is memorial day weekend, and prices are up then and don't want to give up my good price lol. Would like to know the good and the bad....
-
Does anybody have a compass they can look at to see about the show times please?
Tks in advance!
-
I snorkeled Montego Bay and saw some interesting formations, but nothing spectacular. Won't even bring my gear next trip there...

I've never heard of any, probably would be a huge insurance liability, IMO...
