  1. Want to be able to do tastings at the distillery without worrying about driving.
  2. Yeah, I realize that the caves are a drive, it's why I have just two things on my to do list. Last time we were there we did an island tour so just looking to hit a few things. I was really hoping to find a driver in port, I am 99% sure that is what we did last time but it's been a while..... . I did see the other companies mentioned, so far none have really seemed to be what I am looking for or affordable as a private tour.
  3. We will be in Grand Cayman in Oct and I haven't been there since 2007 so I don't really remember much about the port area. I am hoping to do a private tour that includes at least the caves and the distillery but online prices seem a bit steep. Does anyone know if there are drivers/guides waiting on the ship at the port to offer tours? Does anyone have suggestions for an affordable tour company? Thanks!
  4. Does anyone know if you get captains club points for these free cruises?
  5. I got the offer (first time ever getting an offer like this) and it says I am pearl.. Booked 9 nights to the ABC islands on Equinox in a hump cabin for my birthday. 😁
  6. Oh man, I'm not a big gambler either and got the offer. Just booked a 9 night ABC island on the Equinox in a hump cabin for my birthday! To say I'm excited would be an understatement!!!
  7. We are in 7642 on Symphony, I assume the setup of the ship should be the pretty much the same. Can you tell me what is across the hall from these cabins? It is blank on the deck plan. I just want to make sure there aren't crew areas and doors that will cause a lot of noise. Thanks!
  8. On Amiga they had some loungers and adirondack chairs. If memory serves, Paradise cove had a few loungers. There are some free beaches on Labadee with loungers as well.
  9. We just got back and I cannot recommend Amiga Island. Not sure if it was just this day but the currents were pretty strong in most places and there was trash all in the water and all over the place outside the main landing area, if you walk the island. We also did the sip and paint which we enjoyed. The first time we were in Labadee, we did Paradise Cove and authentic Haitian village, it was amazing. The water there calmer and cleaner.
  10. We have just booked Junior suite cabin 7642 on the Symphony. It is in the middle of the second hump, starboard side. Does anyone know what is in the blank space on the deck plans across from those cabins? Are there crew areas and doors there? Just wondering if it will be quiet in this area or if I should move while there are still open cabins. Thanks!
  11. I just got back, I didn't have to wear one. There were signs on the terminal (where you go back through to get on the ship) but nobody but employees were wearing them and nobody says anything to you. I think they just haven't taken the signs down from when Jamaica had a mandate.
  12. Do you have status with Celebrity and have you sailed them? I am diamond now thanks to reciprocity and the fact that Celebrity has been offering captains club points through the power up program. They periodically send out emails with surveys, links to webinars to watch, etc.to get points towards your captains club status. I needed a few points to get to Elite with them and was able to do it with the power up points.
  13. Me too, I feel bad for them having to wear those things for long periods of time. Also my husband has lost most of the hearing in one of his ears and really struggles with understanding people in masks (most of the time he can't,) I have good hearing and even I struggle understanding them.
  14. I just took a look at the cruise compasses for a July sailing for my cruise itinerary and noticed on the Falmouth day that there was a notice that masks were required indoors and in the terminal. It was my understanding that Jamaica dropped all covid mandates in April. Sherpa and the private guide I have booked both confirm that there are no mandates in Jamaica. Has anyone been to Falmouth in the past month or two and can tell me your experience? Thanks!
  15. Thanks, I tried searching there but couldn't find anything. I really am anxious about starting a new thread as this seems to be a subject that causes some arguments and snarky comments. I may have to post the question and just ignore the negative comments.....
  16. Hoping I can get an answer here and not have to start a new thread. I just saw the cruise compass from an early July sailing of Harmony Western route. It says for Falmouth that masks are required indoors and in the terminal. I chose this itinerary because Jamaica had dropped all the covid rules. Sherpa says nothing about any covid rules and restrictions, the private guide I have booked confirms this. Just wondering what people's recent experience is here? Thanks!
  17. Thanks! It makes me feel better to see that others have used it with no issues.
  18. Okay, thanks! I didn't think to search for that, I just searched for Nomi. I asked in reply to some of the people who said they used Nomi tests but haven't received a response. The lab used is actually at the local hospital and they are clia certified, if I for sure need to pull one. This is the first cruise I've been on since this crap started and I want to be sure I am not turned away.
  19. It does, see attached screenshot. I also just had a Royal agent tell me the same thing.
  20. Our friends used a local public testing site that Nomi labs runs to take their pre-cruise test for Carnival and it was accepted. I also see on posts here where people appear to have used them for Royal Caribbean. We are wanting to use them because the test is free and the testing site is close to our house. My concern is that on the documentation our friends received from Nomi, the CLIA number is not listed. Royal states that a CLIA number must be on the documentation. I called Royal Caribbean and didn't really get a satisfactory answer as to whether or not it would be accepted, I was just told that Nomi is not on their list of labs. Has anyone had issues boarding using the Nomi test, specifically in Port Canaveral? Thanks!
  21. Have you used Nomi for pre-testing with Royal? We want to use them because we can test for free there and it is convenient to our house. Our friends used them for Carnival but Royal states the documentation needs to have the testing lab's CLIA number on it and our friend's Nomi test results do not show the CLIA number. I checked and they are a CLIA certified lab. Thanks!
  22. Thanks for the photos, especially of the carpaccio! I booked embarkation lunch there just to get carpaccio, it is so hard to find in restaurants. How was it?
  23. I am planning on using Island Lady's idea of getting there early, dropping bags, parking in the garage and then going to Grills for a cocktail while we wait for our boarding time (10:30.) Wanting to get the vacation started as early as possible!😃
