  1. Only QM2 has a concierge lounge, and it is a dark and dismal place with no outside light, but usually a lovely concierge, and free coffee and biscs. Coffee is free in the QG lounge, but nothing else, I believe.
  2. I would have thought if people want to dine at that time it is up to them, and no cause for disdain. If no one chooses that time, anytime dining will suddenly become very busy?
  3. The owners of the cabin we visited were split. He said he never noticed any noise, she said she could barely sleep because of it. I decided to stick to the Q4s on the sides.
  4. I don’t think it is riotous passengers, so much as the noise of the wake. But I’ve only visited.
  5. I think you are a little harsh on those who travel on P and O. The ones I know are nothing like that. I suspect if varies between ships and. Raises, and probably other things as well.
  6. I’m not sure it is quite as bad as that. I remember reading on here somewhere, goodness knows where, of someone who did this by accident., or actually, the checkin person did it, as it was at the terminal. It was sorted by the intervention of a more senior person. Can anyone else remember reading this?
  7. Our experience has been similar, starting on QE2 in 1997. We upgraded to QG because we thought we were going to do it only once, and, as you say, it has been expensive. But never regretted.
  8. No, no, no. One of the reasons, I book QG is so I can lounge in the bath. But I agree it is totally pathetic not to have a separate shower. The Vistas do.
  9. I too am appalled. And when you think the D de L could have been used to make ice cream, it makes you want to weep. 😀
  10. I think the complaints were largely because they abolished the later fixed sitting. Now that has been reinstated, many seem to be happier.
  11. I have once seen young men attempt to enter the theatre on Gala Night in shorts and grubby T-shirts. They looked as if they had neither washed nor changed since coming back on board. I wouldn’t have wished to sit next to them. But generally people do seem to make an effort.
  12. QV always seems pretty spacious to me. If you were able to find something on Aurora or Arcadia, those are much more like Cunard, I believe. Indeed Arcadia was going to be a Cunarder.
  13. And a densely packed urban area, perhaps?
  14. With so many outfits, you wouldn’t need to wash anything else, as none of them would be worn long enough to get dirty. 😀
  15. Actually I never notice what anyone is wearing, unless it is bizarre, perhaps a DJ at breakfast, though you might think that appropriate, clearly unsuitable, such as a sweaty T-shirt and shorts at dinner, or gorgeous, as are some women’s dresses at dinner. I really don’t think I’m that unusual.
  16. On the other hand, I have been known to say wow to myself, when a lady, who is dressed particularly elegantly, comes into dinner.
  17. I think that’s what most people do. For heaven’s sake don’t worry about the cruise. Most passengers are lovely and you’ll have a great time (unless the weather is gruesome).
  18. How can you possibly profess to know what the ‘vast majority of folks’ are doing or thinking? I would think most people are interested in the food, but I don’t know either.
  19. On the average Med. cruise, I can’t remember there being a problem with people wearing shorts for breakfast and lunch, never mind jeans.
  20. But you might not get the same one every night, unless you go for fixed dining.
  21. I think part of the issue is if, like Lissie, you are doing a cruise as part of a much longer trip, requiring entirely different clothes, and don’t want to be heaving too much weight of luggage around with you. But I agree with you generally.
  22. I shall live in hope for next year. 😀
  23. Has the dessert menu had Dulce de Leche ice cream? I asked for it in the summer in the QG, and they said they couldn’t, as there was no Dulce de Leche on board. Very disappointing, as it’s my absolute favourite.
