  1. WHEN she emerges she should be sporting that neat new dark-blue hull livery up at the bow! Would love to see that, if anyone gets pics
  2. Now we need a webcam showing the shipyard at Freeport so we can see what's going on!
  3. Oh cool. She's come and gone. Nice work. Quick turnaround!

Carnival Conquest has arrived at Grand Turk to take away passengers on Carnival Freedom, which suffered a funnel fire, a day ago.
  5. Give it an hour or two for folks to settle in and have some dinner. Posts should come soon.
  6. Latest position... Conquest and Freedom at Grand Turk -exchanging people!
  7. Looks like she may still be at Grand Turk?
  8. Maybe not, but it's Reality! Part of Life.
  9. Photos of what it now looks like... Cheng reckons what burnt was fiberglass.. I hope they get to remove those two vertically-dangling bits, before moving the ship to the Shop.
  10. Backlit glassware always photographs well.
  11. Many thanks for your explanation! Now we know! Most ppl have no idea that their cabin door is also a firewall! Wow!
  12. That's ^ the bit I really like! But it's amazing how Push has to come to SHOVE! before anything gets done............

Easter Lillies in Barbados. Unusually abundant this year after last year's prodigious volcanic ash-fall from nearby LaSoufriere volcano on St. Vincent Isl.
  14. You'd think that... by now.. engineers / door-designers would have figured out a buffer mechanism for heavy cabin-doors so that this known, decades-long problem would be substantially reduced! It cannot be that difficult! If they can build computer memory into the cabin door lock to identify the last 100 entries (by who, using what card) then surely felt buffers against the door jam cannot be far away now! You'd think... I recall my first cruise: an interior cabin on Deck 2, Carnival Destiny hearing doors slam at 2 in the morning and later trying to figure out if I was hearing crew slamming big freezer doors in the galley right behind my bulkhead...it wasn't that, at all. It was simply inconsiderate fellow passengers next door!
  15. Turns out the nights are a lot worse than the days! The nights are when the sinus congestion sets in along with an annoying tickly cough at bedtime (you know how that goes!). More and more this confirms my suspicions that this is my second bout of Covid, the first being Feb. 10th. - March 3rd. 2020 when I came down with Something Suspiciously Nasty, along with many other Barbados islanders. The recent clogged-up nights trying to sleep ..are very similar! That (Feb. 2020) was Early Covid, version 1.0 before W.H.O. had even named the damned thing! Nine weeks after I finally ditched it in early March after three long and persistent weeks, the clotting factor we now know about, came into play and found my waiting 90% occlusion in my LAD coronary artery, and Voila! there was my STEMI heart attack on the morning of Friday 8th. May 2020, resulting in 6 days and 5 nights in the local Hospital. Oh it's been great fun -lol Luckily I've had my 3 shots of Astra-Zeneca, during 2021 and that is now standing me in good stead! Apologies for the long ramble, but y'all got me going!
  16. Thank you for your kind sentiments! I'm having mild symptoms, nothing to be worried about and nothing that two Panadol/paracetamol tabs every 6 hrs. can't handle. Today has been Sore Throat Day -yesterday was Panadol Day! plus I discovered some expired COVONIA Cough Syrup (2017!) in the medicine cabinet so it's still got plenty of life in it -like me. Lol! I've been instructed to keep myself to myself until Saturday coming. No big deal. It's a lot like Dengue Fever (lethargy). This is how I felt yesterday morning, before breakfast to raise my blood sugar level.
  17. Thank you for your kind and caring words! Luckily, both Wife and I have had our 3 shots of Astra-Z last year -and that's probably standing me in good stead, now! Yesterday was a crapper, but today I'm a lot brighter! I'm just stuck in the house for a week - a looong week! I sure hope your brother does well. With diabetes and obesity, he will need medical help!

Carnival ships are looking so much better now they've changed the livery. This move has definitely raised their 'curb appeal'
  19. Here on the island of Barbados I just tested positive for Covid on Saturday afternoon after waking from my usual afternoon nap and feeling feverish! It feels a lot like Dengue Fever! Yesterday morning early was bad (most of that was simply low blood sugar) and I spent Sunday living on Paracetamol but this Monday morning things are much improved and it seems I'll live after all! OK so this is what Bad News looks like...
  20. Same here. I have our every cruise card except two Ocean Village cards which "for security reasons" they insisted they have back as we left.. Luckily I took a photo of it.
