Just off the Mardi Gras on 4/9 and ended up with a connecting cabin on Deck 14 as well.
We were shocked how we didn't hear our neighbors on either side all week
- no talking/laughing/arguing/tv - nothing.
Lucky YOU!
Most folks sadly think their cabins are sound-proof. They're not.
Please have some consideration for the folks next door!

I had everything to hand - passports / credit card / emergency contact /
name of hotel and address after the cruise
- all in about 20mins ( printed off )
You sound like an Organized Traveller!! I'm like that too.
Having hard copy to show helps.

We've eaten there several times.
The food is good local food, and the servings are generous.
I hope you're hungry when you get there.

.. preference for KFC. (I think their products are better than their competitors.
Love their biscuits, but, the packets of Honey have been replaced by packets of "Honey Sauce" where I live. Don't like that.)
The range of KFC products available on the island
is not like your extensive list Stateside.
We don't get biscuits for example, but we do get Popcorn Chicken
which is our preference on those Just Say No To Cooking nites!

This is interesting to me.
WCB's reports on their cruises on the HAL Message Board have mentioned chicken being prevalent as a desired food when they have visited Barbados.
Why chicken? If you are able to offer a possible reason.
Lowered meat cost could be one reason.
Chickens are quick and easy to rear. Cows take awhile.
A bit of history
When Mr. Heal opened the very first KFC in Barbados -early 1970s-
it was set up at Hasting(where I see it near-daily)
and we were told, the next year after it started,
that KFC Hastings had accomplished their Record Sales that year, worldwide!

We (NY) are also seeing an increase in covid cases
due to new variant. Keep safe, everyone.
This pandemic is not quite "over" yet, is it?!
Even though humanity desperately wants to get it behind us.
Suggest y'all have a look at this
and see how these afflictions usually last 3-4 years...

Just when you think life is actually improving and we're kinda emerging
from this Covid crap --along comes the appalling war in Ukraine
and then a fresh variant of Covid, which we seem to have here in Barbados.
But by now
the Barbados public is well trained in mask-wearing, hand sanitizing etc
and it's only the careless who are coming down with it.
Don't let it stop you coming ashore here, though...

Thanks for the warnings!

I wonder if you and I had the same security guy at Port of Tampa.
He then rifled through my cosmetic bag and came upon
my 2&1/2” manicure scissors, ===> OMG the horror! lol
held them in the air and said “these are not allowed.”
He seemed very pleased with himself.
Over-zealous twit: sometimes they get like that.
Maybe he's new...
I'm so sick of this stuff that just makes travel unpleasant,
and it's not getting any better.
Air Travel is just a sucky nightmare these days.......
Cruise travel is doing their best to catch up?

Agreed about Miami.
A few years ago I pulled up to the curb in Miami, pulled the bags out of the car and rolled them to where other passenger bags were being staged. A porter walks over, takes one of the bags and asks where is my tip? I was like... tip for what? He said in order for my bags to make it on the ship... I said where is your supervisor and I followed him as he pointed toward where he was. I asked the supervisor for his name and if this is your practice? He said no and called over the porter who of course denied saying it...I took a picture of the Supervisor and I told him I hold him responsible for my luggage making it on the ship and that was that.
Anyway, my bags did make it on the ship
but certainly not the way I wanted to start off a cruise.
Thank you for handling this corruption in the proper manner!
This is what happens
when the absurd Amerikin process of tipping everyone in sight,
gets out of hand! Those of us who are not American .... cringe.

I also had 2 toiletry bags with small scissors.
They confiscated both pairs of scissors.
These scissors have traveled with me on 106 cruises without a problem.
Is this something new?
Security paranoia? - thanks to binLaden and 9/11
-the fallout from that is still coming down

Oh I have definitely seen customers argue with the bartender
after reaching their 15 drink limit. =====> Lush!
I'm so BOR-ING!
Between she and I, we've never had more than 2 maybe 3 drinks on any cruise
for the entire cruise!

It's time for a loyalty level above Platinum and Diamond.
Based on current spot prices of precious metals
may I humbly suggest Palladium.

.. I remember just being in awe of that ship when I first stepped on board.
It all seemed so massive and beautiful! I felt like I was truly living the high life!
I just loved getting dressed up for dinner each night
and seeing the different ports of call and meeting new people!
It was a vacation I'll never forget!
Very few people forget their First Cruise
(or their fist sex for that matter, but I digress..).
Mine was a quick Carnival Destiny 3-day charter trip out of Barbados and..
like yours, unforgettable..
Here are a few pics... early May 2007.

Also an early riser, an inside cabin is best for naps.
Oh don't you know it!
Insides are The Bomb, almost --at least for napping during the afternoon.

two cabins one card?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Two different (computerised) locks!
And btw.. the last 100 entries are recorded by the lock
ie. whose card, what time, etc.
