Caron, your symptoms sound typical post Shringrex. But better than the pain of having shingles! Although they say the explosion wasn't a gas leak, most lay people still seem to think it was. This is the 3rd house explosion in that area in about 5 years. The one last year still doesn't have an explanation. And interestingly, the borough manager was at that house that exploded on Saturday and was killed (he lived a few houses away and his wife and DD were ok), as was another neighbor and his son (both killed) and that guy worked for the gas company! So one wonders, although they say no one called to report an odor of gas. Prayers that you and DH remain healthy after this encounter. Good to hear that DH's eye pressures have stabilized with adding back a med. Lenda, hopefull there should be no more deaths. 3 people were hospitalized and 2 are already discharged. The 3rd is critical, but stable.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I write with my right hand, but can use my left hand as well for things. And interestingly I bat and swing a golf club left handed. No siblings. I used to have garage sales, then switched to ebay or donating stuff. Interesting quote. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink and yes to the wine. Sad that the Aztec Empire ended. I have been to Mazatlan, on my Panama Canal cruise. It was cool this morning, in the mid-60's, but now sunny and 74. We got some rain last evening, with lots of lightning and thunder (one bolt made me jump), but nothing severe. The county to the south of me had 1 confirmed and another possible tornado touch down. The back isn't happy today, so I've put on a Salonpas patch; it may have been doing laundry yesterday. I'm sad that doing normal household things make me hurt 😞. I think it's too wet to mow, but maybe I'll check later. More rain tomorrow. The lawn was just fertilized, so the grass will be growing even more. Sadly by late last night 4 people had been found dead from that house explosion, that also took out the houses on either side. They had to stop searching because of the storms last night, but have resumed today. @StLouisCruisers Happy Birthday to Dennis! Not a good day in these parts. A house in a neighboring town exploded and caught two others on fire, all destroyed. Other homes damaged significantly with windows blown out, ceilings falling, etc. Several fire hydrants were not operational and tankers had to be brought in. A 35 yo and 11 yo were last seen running toward a house, and are unaccounted for (wife and daughter were not home). This is still an active scene. So scary and sad. It's probably a natural gas issue, and this area had a house explosion last year! I've been listening on my scanner app. High praise for all the firefighters and EMS. It's also hot and heat exhaustion is a danger. Just now got a tornado watch issued until 10PM tonight for my location.

Back from PT. Today was hard, as both my knees and back were painful. But I got through it, with a few modifications. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for the photos from Djupivogur. When I worked on my car years ago with my friend the former auto mechanic, we did oil changes, but I don't think it's worth doing yourself anymore. @USN59-79 I think most of us iPhone users have done that. There is a slider and I didn't think it called unless you move the slider, although if you keep holding the buttons a countdown starts and an alert sounds. If you release the buttons after the countdown it automatically calls emergency services. There is a way in the settings to turn it off, but that defeats the purpose. @dfish Great scenery from Iceland! @bennybear I hope DS feels better soon, although sprains can be nasty. Bless the Good Samaritan who helped him.

Good afternoon. I'm back from my appointment and was still fasting until about 3:15. I'm going off my cholesterol med and see how I feel in the next 2-3 weeks. After that, I may then go back on one that I tolerated pretty well, taking it 3 days a week. There's a new drug that's a precursor of a statin and doesn't cause the muscle aches, but of course it's very pricey. Then when I went for bloodwork, it took 3 sticks to get what was needed! @cruising sister I've been meaning to ask how Molly is doing. @RMLincoln Thanks. I do use Benefiber daily. I took RYR years ago, and there was a reason I stopped, but I can't remember why! He told me I'm high risk due to some calcium seen in the coronary arteries, so they want the numbers down, but not for me to feel unwell from the treatment. @Quartzsite Cruiser You and DH are quite the auto team! Many years ago I had a friend who'd been an auto mechanic in his old life, and we used to work on my car. These days I pay someone else to do it, lol. @Sharon in AZ @kplady Thanks for the photos.

Maybe on the meal, as I do eat shrimp (although usually away from home; rarely cook it at home). Pass on the drink and wine. I haven't been to George Town Harbor. I think I was at the Royal Observatory many years ago. We had rain overnight and this morning, but now it's stopped and looking brighter out. I have a Cardiology appointment this afternoon, with a lipid specialist. I can't take most of the statins due to muscle pain, so I'll see what he says. I'll also get some bloodwork that's due, so I'm still fasting. So sad about the wildfires in Maui, with the loss of life and property. Prayers for them. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I like books for their education value and also ability to transport us to new places and ideas. I'll salute the world's indigenous peoples. Due to a large Polish descendant population here, polkas are still popular at weddings. I think most of us want to be both loved and understood. I like the meal, pass on the drink, and maybe on the wine. The invention of the diesel engine was an important milestone. I haven't been to Cape Town. Another in a string of nice days here. I have PT, but it's not until 5:40 PM. This is the special therapist, and she's only at the nearby site once a week. I should do some work in the yard, but just not feeling up to it today. I put a Salonpas on my back this AM, and I think that's starting to help. @grapau27 Lovely hydrangeas, and with special meaning. Mine didn't bloom this year (not because I cut them back too much), along with other plants/shrubs that didn't either. Maybe it was our winter with almost no snow. Good afternoon. I am all stretched out, after PT. I do the exercises, then the therapist does this passive stretching of my legs that makes me feel like a wishbone being pulled apart. He also kneaded all the painful lower back muscles, so I opted for a heat pack after he was done. It is lovely outside, but I am too lazy today to do any yard work. @Cruising-along Lovely photo of your DD and the cat. @RMLincoln I empathize with the mobility issues and excursions. I was limited on my last cruise, and my fall certainly didn't help. He got a pacemaker and was back out walking his usual 4 miles a day in about 6 weeks.

Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I know cats will be celebrated here; I've never had one. I grew up on frozen custard at the boardwalk on the Jersey shore. I used to sneak zucchini to neighbors, but haven't grown any for many years. True quote. The meal sounds good, if someone makes it for me. Pass on the drink and maybe to the wine. I haven't been to Kanazawa. Good move by the University of Otago. It's a nice sunny day here, and not too humid. Storms weren't bad here yesterday, and I wish we'd gotten more rain. Good evenint. Re the discussion about fall detectors. I wear an Apple watch. If I fall or even bang my hand hard, it will ask me if I'm ok or to contact emergency services (my phone has to be nearby or wifi, since I don't have cellular service on my watch). If the watch detects you're immobile for about a minute, it calls emergency services automatically. With the iphone14, it you have no signal or wifi (say out hiking somewhere) it will use satellite to call for help. I've wanted to be on a jury, but have only been called twice I think. You had to call the day before, and I never had to report. In PA, at age 70 you can be permanently exempt for jury duty, if you wish. You can't make these things up! A dog was abandoned at the airport here. The owner was denied boarding with the dog, as it wasn't in a proper carrier. She boarded the plane, and the dog was found in a stroller in the parking lot. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I will celebrate friendships, as they add so much to our lives. Forgiveness can be hard, but is something we should all strive for. I love lighthouses. I saw a piece on the Today show this AM about some historical lighthouses for sale (needing a lot of renovation). And a salute to Purple Heart recipients. Great quote. Pass on the meal (eggplant), pass on the drink and yes to the wine. TTE/Sony has brought us great electronics. I have not been to Heraklion. There were morning storms, with wind and rain. Later today we may have more severe storms. Tornado watch to the south of me. So it's cloudy and humid. I don't have anything planned for today. I may try contacting the water authority, as the sidewalk area that was jackhammered up for a new line to the main has not been repaired yet. Another warm and sunny day, humid, with possible thunderstorms later. My house tidying efforts yesterday didn't go so well, as vacuuming caused me back pain. I need to get this sorted, as it's getting so I can't do much without pain or having to take frequent breaks to sit. BFF and I had a nice dinner out, then came back to my house to watch a movie. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for the lovely picture of the four of you at your PG dinner.
