After looking at the 10 day forecast for Cape Coral and Gasparilla Island and speaking with my Boss, we have decided to postpone our trip. Originally scheduled to fly to Ft Meyers airport Thursday morning but with temps to be in the 60's with rain and high winds forecasted for most of the weekend we decided to postpone our trip for a couple of weeks.
It saddens me to think we cancelled our Anthem sailing for Jan 18th 11 nighter because of Yeshiva week and now postponing this trip. I was so hoping to be soaking up some warm sun somewhere this January. For now, we have our fireplace and cats to snuggle up with.
I hope everyone remains safe during this brutal cold weather and has no issues with power outages.
Sounds like a good idea Debbie to postpone, but disappointing when you're so looking forward to it

If you have only the bar code, without the numbers below it, take a screenshot of the barcode. Then upload it to an online bar code reader (there are several free ones). It will return the numbers for the bar code.As @SteelCityCruiser10 said, room number is the last 4 digits. If you have a muster station assigned, it is a good chance your cabin has as well.
Thanks Mark, I'll gave a go at this, only the bar code so far. We've got a muster and floor assigned so far.

I would wait to see what is assigned and bid up from that. But that is just me. You do what ever you are good with.
My GTY for an upcoming cruise was assigned the same day I booked. But that cruise is in 3 weeks. I am very happy with the assignment. Is this you World Cruise segment? We're pretty cool with whatever. It's only a four night cruise. I'm a little concerned it may be right above the smoking 'bus stop' on five but the website shows only central and forward cabins available on six at mo , 🤞
It's Spectrum ex Singapore. The Serenade WC segment isn't till July, BCN to Southampton

Can anyone remind me how to find a cabin number from the boarding card bar code?
Our cruise next month from Singapore still has no cabin assigned and I'm wondering if I should bid on a royal up

I’m back to my hotel from the hospital. Mom’s doing welll all things considered. She might be discharged tomorrow or maybe Sunday. YTD
On the drive back there was some thunder snow. I’ve not seen any in a few years. I got some dinner from a restaurant around the corner. Now just watching the movie Speed. Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves are babies.
A quick example of my driving/walking fun tonight. I gave a shoutout to a friend in Miami, so don’t be surprised to hear it.
Great news about your mum's op going so well. 👍

DD’s resort in BC was closed to all outdoor activities yesterday due to the extreme cold temperatures.
Seeing the photos & videos of the icebergs & whales from the WC cruise in Antarctica is amazing. Putting Antarctica back in my bucket list…
Gary was telling me today that his friends in Edmonton posted that's it's -40c there at mo 🥶

Something similar happened to us a few years ago on a transatlantic . The Viking Crown lounge is a favourite of ours on ships that have them for a predinner drink. On this cruise it was closed from 4 to 8pm nightly for the overspill of the Diamond Lounge due to high numbers of D and up .
Now we are finally Diamond it looks like we may be shut out again

Loving hearing about new parts of the world (to me). Here's the Wikipedia page on Drakes Passage if anyone's interested in learning more.

Hope there's some Naturalists on board giving talks on the local sea/bird life in the area

Congratulations to Owen!!
I remember how exciting it was to get my driver's license.
And how exciting but worrisome when our boys got their licenses.
Congratulations to Owen, @A&L_Ont
He'll love his freedom that a driving licence brings.
Agree with Debbie, I use to be up all night worrying until they got home, when my boys passed their tests.
I told my boys I would put a third towards their car, they could take a third from their savings but they had to contribute a third too. Worked with the oldest but I seem to remember our youngest got our old car when we changed cars.

It's been a very wet autumn and winter so far. Lots of flooding and the Thames has burst its banks. Fields near rivers are now lakes. But at last this week we've got a period of sunny and colder weather.
One of our NY resolutions is to get out more and not just stick to our everyday walks. This week we went to a National Trust property and had a fascinating tour of the walled gardens and yesterday we drove down to the coast and had a great walk on the beach.

Thank you, Maryann. We're doing "the same", the war enters its 4 month, very long and hard one. We had rocket fire exactly at midnight December 31st, when very few were celebrating....
Since then, very few air raids. Due to the heavy fighting, it seems that the other "side" is less "free" to fire.
I've posted the stuffing in reply to Renee on Bella's thread. I'm copy-pasting also here. It was very tasty.
------
It was excellent. The chestnut is his "secret" ingredient....
Minced meat, small pieces of ready-to-eat chestnuts (vacuum), onion, cranberries, breadcrumbs, parsley, salt, pepper, 2 eggs. Leave the whole mixture in the fridge overnight. Fry the onion with some teriyaki sauce. Served on a bed of couscous.
Enjoy !!

Thinking of you always Dani and hoping for a speedy end 🙏
That dinner looks very yummy. Aaron is such a talented cook and artist

I think my wife has a great fun birthday July 4th she gets fireworks every year .
There is a downside on having a birthday on a special day. On mine, Valentines, the restaurants are sold out with lovey-dovey youngsters and special 'valentines' menus. Higher prices too, though my lovely hubby always gets me two bunches of flowers, one for birthday and one for Valentines 💕

Yes, it was all filmed on Virtuosa, we didn't think much of the drama but watched it anyway just to spot places we recognised on the ship😄
Agree, it wasn't that good.

It was Jane McDonald, we commented on it too. We've thought for the last few years that MSC are going for RCL's share of the market in the UK. Doing a good job too IMO.
Also their ships were used and very recognisable in the new-ish drama series set on a cruise ship, 'The good ship murder'

Hi Ella, I guess the cruise has finished now. Will you be posting your final thoughts on the ship and Singapore?
Looking forward to our visit next month
Thanks again for doing the review, as you said there's very little about Spectrum on CC

Regarding Samsung phones, the Galaxy "S" series is their flagship product & probably their best. The problem, or more accurately, the confusion is that now Samsung attaches the Galaxy name to just about everything they make. I've know a few people that owned the Galaxy "A" series (A50, A23, etc) which is their budget model. It seems to be fine for phone calls & texting but they are always running out of space to download apps & it seems to run slow and somewhat clunky. Mid-range camera so not great but not awful. Of course, these people are now complaining how awful the Samsung Galaxy phone is, which is only applies to the "A" series, not the "S" series.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S10e which I love, it's almost indestructible. If you could see how many cracks it has, you'd be surprised it still works.
I have an A34, Samsung buds, smart watch, and pad. Very Happy with them, my second Samsung phone. Great photos, does everything I want and only £29 a month on a two year contract. Works for me.
Yesterday we bought a Samsung microwave and have a Samsung TV

I am little unsure/nervous about staying at my Boss's house and boat - we have known each for years and we all get along great but it will be a bit odd or different to stay with them. This is in lieu of our 11 night Anthem sailing that we had booked for 1/18 but cancelled due to Yeshiva week.
I do not recall the exact size of their boat - it is a Catamaran style boat somewhere around 45 to 50' long with 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, full kitchen, living room, outdoor hot tub, etc. He purchased a new one last year after the hurricane hit that area and previous boat needed lots of repairs and updating.
Hopefully the 4 of us do not end up with drama like below deck😁
Their boat does have Starlink but we don't have to pay a daily fee for Voom. 🤣
I will make sure to take photos and upload here.
Sounds great Debbie. Ours is a coastal cruiser and only 29' so you should have plenty of room. How many people will be on board?

Thanks for all the infol...I think I will just get the refreshment package and not hassle with it!
There's usually a water package in the planner. I purchased it for under £19 in a sale for 12 x 1litre bottles of Evian, though its more now. Nice to have it waiting for you in your state room

IMHO...about as much as they would on any other shorter cruise.
On one of the you tube blogs they said there was quite a lot of enrichment lectures. I know they've had these on transatlantics and I've usually enjoyed them in the past

How is the food on board? I'm hoping for a good stir fry station in the buffet.
As its only four nights we're not doing any specialist restaurants when we cruise next month

This seems to work, thankyou. Shows its towards the back on 6 port side. With, as expected, a lifeboat blocking the view, but I think the smoking bus stop is on the other side ?
I've put in a low bid for a large balcony OV in the hope of getting a higher floor but not the end of the world if we stay where we are
