  1. Yes, but what I was referring to was the question as to whether or not the Captain relinquished command whether using the old locks or the new locks, and the answer is yes, for this question the locks are the same. The actual question was in regards to "policy" in the new locks compared to the old, not whether the locks were the same.

  2. "MSC Armonia Crash Update....all guests are safe and sound. Ship is being evaluated and will be fixed. They will determine if its safe to sail today.

    All guests went on there regular day of tours. Most locals were a little shaken up, many thinking it wasnt going to stop. Thankfully no one was hurt." - quote from Real Deal Roatan Tours

  3. Does anyone have a email where I can send a dispute letter for our overcharged room charges!! I sent on to truecelebrity with no respince so far!!! we are elite if anyone thinks CC can help solve it!!! Thanks

    As others have said, just call X to have charges removed. You can also call your cc company to dispute the charges at the same time, just for piece of mind. X WILL remove the charges! I have had this happen twice and had no problem getting it resolved (after the fact). Much more effective to call rather than email them. (This stuff happens on occasion.)

  4. Awesome! So glad I could help.

    Christi: I got the prices right off the main MSC page. Apparently not everyone can see them because LSauls couldn't see them either. I did provide screen shots in another thread of what my screen looks like. Does you screen look like mine? For what it's worth, people have reported that MSC will not price adjust even before final payment.

    I booked the Seaside YC for April, 2018 back in May, 2016. In September, 2016 the price was reduced approx. $225. I called MSC and had no problem whatsoever getting them to adjust my price.

  5. Have you tried to enter just your reservations...and then separately book the other cabin. Don't try to link two reservations....there is no need to do it. When you get to the dining room for dinner, you all get in the same reservation line and they ask you how many are in your party....the only thing a reservation does is get you into the "reservation" line.

    I have not seen a "reservation line" on my two recent cruises on Equinox. I was able to make reservations on line and linked with my travelling partners. It takes a lot of patience as you need to enter each night individually. In the end, the reservations all showed up on my Cruise Planner. The reservation line needs to be reinstated...otherwise, why bother to make reservations?

    The first night is usually total chaos, but after that everything settled down and we had our favored waiter, time, and table every night.

  6. It seems everyone comes here either from Carnival or NCL.

    Very few seem to come from Royal and even less from Celebrity or Princess. Maybe those cruisers are less adventurous or maybe they're just happy where they are.

    I keep reading ...... "that's not the way they do it on Carnival (Norwegian)."

    Of my 22 cruises, 18 of them have been with Celebrity. I tried MSC in 2016 on the Divina and liked the experience. When the Seaside was announced, I booked a cruise for this April in the Yacht Club. Of my last 5 cruises, only 2 of them have been with Celebrity. They are still my favorite, but I am loving experiencing different cruise lines. I mostly cruise the Caribbean because of the ease of access (live in Florida), but lately, it is all about the ship, not the ports.

    Meeting new people and seeing the different ways of doing things is always exciting. I was treated well on the Divina and am expecting the same on the Seaside! And, I definitely like MSC's pricing as I usually sail "solo" and they tend to gouge us less than other cruise lines. ;)

  7. So much for my hope for a Jags/Vikings Super Bowl! :-( The Jags played great, the Vikings not so much. Will be a not to watch Super Bowl since I can't stand either team that will be playing. Oh well........there's always next year.

  8. Carolyn-I booked the 15 night RT L.A./Hawaii for Oct. 2019 on Eclipse-actually transferred an onboard booking. It is outlandishly priced, so I'm not even sure I will actually go on it. I've attempted to get to Hawaii twice before on a cruise (Princess & X) but had to cancel both. Maybe the 3rd time will be the charm. Enjoy! (I will NOT fly to Hawaii!)

  9. OMG! Some of these answers are hilarious!

    * Display of status

    * Idiot for wearing on shore - "screams tourist; please rob me"

    * Wearing it for "fun"

    * Tacky

    * Hole punched in card - (yikes, maybe sacrilegious?)

    I have worn a lanyard on every one of my 23 cruises and will continue to do so. I wear if for convenience ONLY. The breakaway point comes in so handy when ordering drinks, etc. Have yet to lose a card and with the clasp still attached, it is easily returned to me - not someone else. If it's windy on shore, I just tuck it into my blouse, shirt, whatever I'm wearing to keep it from blowing around. My cruise cards have been every color of the rainbow - white, blue, gold, black. Heck, I don't even know what half the colors mean, so if I'm showing off my "status", someone is going to have to tell me what my status is! :D Enjoy your pockets, your purses, your lanyards and your wristbands everyone, and happy sails to you!

  10. Perhaps if Celebrity would just pay a decent wage to their staff, there wouldn't be these constant per diem gratuity increases. Unfortunately, because of these increases, passengers take it out on the staff and decide not to leave additional gratuities for service "over and above". In the end it is the staff who gets hurt! I call it unintended consequences!

  11. Great post! Please educate as many as possible to your way of thinking so that Transatlantic/Transpacific cruises will remain a bargain for the idiots like me who enjoy lots of sea days!

    Hurray! I like your way of thinking! :D And possibly more room on the ship for those of us who love sea days as it will be undersold!! Count me in as one of the "idiots".

  12. WOW I thought it was expensive when I booked 2 days ago. Our suite has one up $400 PP, much like Edge did when bookings were available to the public. Glad we didn't wait.

    My 1A veranda (which I booked yesterday) is now $300 more today! Not sure what Celebrity is smoking these days, but they have definitely gone off the rails when it comes to pricing......All I can say is "Good luck with that!" :o
