When my children were little, we'd take a birth certificate and a school id. It was never an issue. I also took my friends MINORS with us once, all we needed was the same. I also took a notarized letter with permission, but they never asked for it.

If you try to RSVP, it asks for 1 or 2. If you say 2, the price is ridiculous! What happens if I only RSVP for 1? Can my wife join me? Does it only mean that she'll miss out on the Booze and water?

Can anyone comment on what main differences will be in balcony cabins, food quality and ambience ? Rooms are about the same, might be slightly larger on X. Very nice though. Food? Hmmm. I would've said X hands down before our May 10 day Med cruise. The food was so-so and the service was TERRIBLE! Ambiance is a little more laid back on X, service outside of MDR is also very good on X. Also good on Royal. We'll be going in Royal in 2 weeks, so I'll be able to do a better/more current comparison to both! Do you have to pre book the theatre /entertainment (noticed this was a thing on P&O ships ) I didn't see any options on X to book before cruise, and the same applies to Royal. Also ,if anyone has visited the fjords with RCI and how good the excursions were ? N/A

I'd stick to a reputable TA that will be there when you need them! I missed the ship once, and my TA made herself available on FaceBook to help me out! On her Thanksgiving night! I'll never forget this and have remained loyal to her, just as she was to me! Those big box travel agencies that promise you more OBC, or free this and that, they are NEVER available when you need them! Ask my sister in law that decided to go with one of these companies instead of my TA, and the cruise line didn't honor any of the gratuities or OBC that were supposedly FREE! I'm sticking to my TA!

Come with, lol! We usually cruise with groups of friends, anywhere from 10 up to 30 peeps. This time, wife and I are alone! This is our 20th cruise and first time alone, lol! We did a 10 day Med cruise in May on X with my parents, that was awesome! But first time alone. Sorta scared 😉

The minimum bid was 100. I originally bid that but after seeing the current prices for a balcony, I upped it to 150 pp. It was on the very low end, but oh well, it worked!

We go in 2 weeks also! Oct. 14. Idk what their timeline is, but keep you eyes open! My pass also showed my previous room, but it's been updated to the new one 😉

It's in Oct. I bid a month or so ago. I received an email yesterday saying that they tried to upgrade me, however my credit card bounced! It was compromised 2 weeks ago, so I never updated with new card info! So I called and they said that they would notify the Royal Up group. An hour later, I got the email that it was accepted!

We're on NoS and had a Promenade View room. I bid $150 pp for a Specious Ocean View Balcony and got it! Shocked! We paid $1300 for 2 for the Promenade, the balconies are now up to 3k! We paid $1600 total! Never doubt!

We prefer Voyager and above, especially if they're amp'd. We did Vision a few years back while it was enjoyable, I don't think we'd enjoy it now! We actually loved the Mariner. We've also done Oasis, Allure and Symphony, but man oh man, too much stuff! Never did Freedom class, which I think if we did, they'd probably be our favorite.

2 weeks before BF, prices double. On BF, prices 'drop' to the normal rate. No sales. FAKE SALES!

Having wonderful flashbacks, wife and I were on this same cruise in May. Loved the ports, but the service on X was really bad. Hope it's gotten better for you. And if Dymetro is still at the pool bar, tell him James said hi! He's a great guy! Also Igor at 'dark' bar downstairs!

Done about 8 Royal and 2 X cruises. The first X cruise (Equinox) was awesome, the last one in May was not so great! Service was terrible, food was blah. If you like to be entertained and lots of stuff to do, stay on Royal! We were told X was short staffed in May (it was a 10 day Med cruise on Reflection out of Rome). We might try a newer X ship, but that's a maybe. We did a Carnival cruise last Oct. and it was great! We're now jumping on Royal NoS in Oct., we'll compare all 3 lines.
