  1. If you have any pre-existing conditions then Princess insurance for medical may not be right for you. We go through trip insurance store. We call them and discuss with them. Many people on here use them. this thread will probably be moved to the travel insurance subforum. Someone up above gave you the link. I hope you get a lot of info there.
  2. I'm confused. In your OP you said the cain selection is not as favorable when you book each separately but your next post talks about an angled balcony mini suite that is less expensive booking separately. Sounds like a great cabin! We once had an angled balcony (not mini suite) and loved it. Had to move 4 doors down for the second cruise and missed having the large balcony.
  3. Are you a shareholder? Check to see the difference you will get for OBC. If you book as a 14 day then you can only take advantage of price drops on the 14 day cruise. If you book them separately then you can check for price drops on each segment. Can you get the same cabin if you book separately? If not then on turnaround day you will have to change cabins. We have done it. Not as favorable but not a bigee either.
  4. @marazul Awesome post! Thanks. I have actually tried to find some walking tours of the other sites that are on the combo ticket but somehow can't find anything. Again, with two people we don't want private tour because of expense. I have tried looking on Trip Advisor but frankly I don't find it the most user friendly. Probably user issue ( ME!). I'll try again. Thanks so much 🙂
  5. @marazul I appreciate your opinions. As I stated previously we don't expect to be back in Athens again. The Getaways tour is small so it won't be going to lots of different hotels. I checked PK and their tour that includes where we want to go is 8 hours and also starts at the cruise port. Any private tour that they will customize will just be too expensive for two people. We have a walking tour already booked for the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum for our second full day in Athens. Our hotel is The Athens Gate which is directly across from the Acropolis so we will have wonderful views. Even though the Acropolis has hordes of people, apparently not many on this site to say their experiences and what tour companies they used.
  6. I found Getaway Athens. They offer shared tours. Description sounds almost like Viator's except it is an hour or more earlier and an hour longer. Not sure why longer. Also it is less expensive. We are still debating if it is too much to do in one day and the day after we arrive so we are jet lagged.
  7. @marazul It says it starts at 5 pm. they call it a sunset tour. There is an hour stop at beach where one could swim or get a bite to eat (we'd eat !). I hate to plan too much in one day but I don't expect to ever be back.
  8. @coo359a2 Thanks. When I read your post it seemed as if you used FaceTime instead of wifi.
  9. We will fly to Athens from the east coast of USA. 7 hour time difference. We land at 2 pm. We have two full days before our cruise. The second day we are doing a walking tour of Acropolis and the Museum. We plan on buying a Combo ticket to see some of the other sites. Originally I thought of going to some of the other sites (Ancient Agora, etc) our first full day. Not sure how badly we will be affected by jet lag. I have now seen a tour on Viator which is 4 -5 hours and would take us out to Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon. It would leave by 5 pm and pick up could be as early as 4 pm. Supposedly sunset at the cape is beautiful. Is this doing too much in one day ie: walking around Athens to see the ancient Agora, Temple of Zeus, Hadrians Library, etc AND going to Cape Sounion and Temple of Poseidon? Which sites are really a must see? Thanks.
  10. Isn't FaceTime done by wifi? Or cell service if you are using your cell plan.
  11. Know nothing about this but no one else has answered. I would suggest either calling your TA or calling Princess if booked direct.
  12. @Over from NZ Thanks ! I appreciate it. My dh would love to wear a tux. He does own one but sadly few people wear them and we are only doing carry on. Thank you again for telling me what you did see. Hope you had a great cruise!
  13. My dh has decided he will wear a nice button down shirt with a tie and no jacket. We are traveling far and are doing carry on only. He would love to wear a jacket but has no room to pack it. It is good to know he will be ok.
  14. There are a few threads on here about the changes. Most don't like it nor how it was implemented. How can they do it? Well the fine print says they can. Oh, and the $14.99 is for a three course prix fix meal. Everything is a la carte pricing so you can just purchase pizza for whatever price they are charging which should be less than $14.99.
  15. @CrazyTrain2 I have read on here that some people have received Plaxovid from the Medical Center.
  16. Thanks for your insights. I must say it is extremely hard to believe that NO breakfast available in buffet or MDR on turnaround day. IC and room service can not handle everyone on the ship. Maybe something was wrong that particular day?
  17. I'm so sorry to hear your tale of woe. This is not the Princess of before Covid. I have nothing else to offer but just empathy.
  18. I'm guessing they didn't go to the medical center because they "self isolated". OP has not come back to answer.
  19. @pamps2801 So sorry about your brother. I hope he continues to improve. One thing you did not make clear. Did they contact Medical or just isolate on their own? I am concerned that if they contacted medical why medical never took a chest X-ray when he was having trouble breathing.
  20. New booster is not yet approved in US. Don't know about Canada. We just got the old booster.
  21. @Thrak. Glad it worked for you! I am so jealous! I wish I could go on a long cruise but sadly I can't. Short ones will have to do.
  22. Our last booster was last October. We were allowed another one around March or April but decided to wait before our cruise in September. I asked my doctor his thoughts and he said to get it 2-3 weeks before cruising. We got them 2 days ago. I had made an appointment at Costco but got a call the day before saying they didn't have Pfizer (which is what we wanted). I called our Pharmacy. (in a big supermarket) who said they had it and no appointment needed. My how times have changed.
  23. @Thrak Keep in mind that mailing a prescription might not work because it is not a letter and could take a very long time from US to Australia. Also, being a restricted item the pharmacy may not allow her to pick it up because it is not hers.
