  1. How was the experience when you did do it ?
  2. Look aT your itinerary and which nights you are late in port. One of those nights will be the Azamazing evening and you will find that in your cruise planner, listed as a shore excursion to be booked, even though it is free. You need to sign up for it as a shore excursion. Then, by process of elimination you can narrow down which night the white Night is because it is usually one of the other late evenings in port.
  3. I remember that list but when I checked the web site, it’s gone! Sounds like they now have a much more generic description of what the butler does…..interesting.
  4. Is this the list of the butler’s duties? This is what I found on the web site: Our butlers are remarkably adept at tending to the details that make you relaxed and happy. Think of your butler as your personal valet, party consultant and planner, wine expert, mixologist, afternoon purveyor of fabulous treats, reservations specialist, and all-purpose support system.
  5. Hi Kevin, my DH is 6 ft and he fits under the shower head in Tub/shower combo, so you should be good. It’s those who are well over 6 feet who have problems.. Good luck on your upgrade bid. Check out the deck plan and see which suites have showers and which have the combos. The problem with bidding is you get what you get.
  6. We prefer the stern…..really dislike the bow. There is a lot of chair scraping under the patio and pool deck so it is preferable to be under windows cafe, for us. We bring a travel sound machine and that works perfectly to block out any noise from above. Beware if you are very tall, the tub shower combo does not leave much headroom to get under the shower.

  8. I agree and also prefer the shower to tub/shower combo.
  9. I think the reason they are using the side of the LR on Onward is because the usual venue, the Library, has been replaced with the Atlas Bar.
  10. Thanks for reporting what you experienced. I thought Onward was doing Meet and Greet on the card table side of LR, which would be starboard side? That makes more sense to me.
  11. I wonder if they ever will be consistent across all 4 ships again?
  12. @StoryladyI remember you from the Holland America board. Welcome to Azamara! I never got to go on the Prinsendam. I always wanted to! I understand it was a very special beautiful ship! I loved your remarks about your first Azamara cruise. I think you captured the Azamara experience perfectly!
  13. We are on Onward in Dec and I have seen a few mentions of the card room area in the living room being used as the location for the meet and greets. There are still some views there and it is probably more of an unused area at that time. Works ok for me, but the other side, with the couches, is nicer. I think the days of a more formal CC party with CD and microphone are gone. I agree it’s probably better to have the more informal gathering anyway so people who have private tours can find each other easily and people get more time to circulate and find those they have been chatting with on the roll calls,
  14. Yes, and the OBC and the opportunity to be in the bow if in an ocean suite, which wouldn’t ever by my choice! Very rough in high seas. Others may choose it, however. The Owners suite would be sweet, however! 😀
  15. I think it helps when someone on the roll call takes responsibility to gather the names and update the roll call regularly! Also I try to post the link to sign up on Azamara for meet and greet and regular.y remind people to check the daily program and expect that the gathering may be the day of embarkation.
  16. All I know is I have been following reports here and it seemed like the standard, generally, has been 6 pm on embarkation day. People have been told a lot of things, yes. That’s part of the problem. But it seemed anecdotally, that it has been 6 pm. It has also been my experience personally. My intent is just to make others aware that the event is usually held after embarkation early evening,
  17. Sounds like a lot of confusion! It’s too bad! I think it seems like 6 pm on embarkation day is the standard time for these meet and greets. So everyone should look for that in the Insider program on the day of embarkation until something changes!
  18. It’s things like that, that make me love Azamara as well. It sounds like your case got dropped in water or sat out in a rainstorm? I was just reading last night on a travel web site about a covering that is waterproof that you can put on your suitcase to protect it from scuff marks, as well. It was priced between $11 and $17, based on the size. I may purchase one, especially after reading your story! It was on Amazon.
  19. I did the same last Dec on Quest and we had a great turnout, also. We had no canapés but drinks were offered. Invitations might help In The cabin but I think the timing of the meet and greet would be better on the first full day aboard, not on the afternoon, early evening of embarkation.
  20. Same for us. There is also some anchor noise and these cabins in the bow can get very rocky in rough seas.
  21. I routinely fill these out because I learned early on my first cruise that these forms are taken very seriously. I sometimes have only positive reviews about different crew members but I always submit my comments so those crew members can receive the recognition.
  22. It is confusing people and may be causing some people not to register because they think the only way is to go through CruiseCritic. I think it is time that CC do some updating to their process. Quite a few more cruiselines are allowing meet and greets, so why can’t we sign up on CruiseCritic?
  23. Another note about meet and greets on Azamara. ……often they have been on the day of embarkation, around 5 pm or 6 pm, depending on time of sailaway. You have to read the schedule of events carefully to find out when and where the meet and greet is happening. There are no longer invitations delivered to your cabin for the meet and greet. Hopefully that might change in the future,
  24. Here is the link on Azamara site to sign up for meet and greet. https://www.azamara.com/booked-guests/cruise-critic-meet-mingle You need your reservation number available to input for sign up.
  25. No. Not paused on Azamara. You can go directly to the Azamara web site to sign up. CruiseCritic has paused sign ups from their site. We had a meet and greet 12/21 and they are ongoing.
