Surely they should be described as ladder only access- no graduated stairs apart from the pay only Thermal pool in the spa

You're right - ladder is a much better description.

Works well for all of the children in the families they were hoping to attract with this ship - NOT!!!! 🥵

It almost feels as if the person who designed parts of this ship worked for someone trying to put Princess out of business.

please post a few photos of Solarium pool. Trying to see if it is accessible by stairs rather than ladders.
we don't need a “lift”; just stair access.  Thanks ahead

It's my understanding that all of the pools on the Sun are stair access only. 🥵

Makes no sense for many people!

Don't miss the Dover Sole in Compass Rose. Comes with a floor show as your waiter deftly de-bones the fish for you at your table.  Also it's tasty :-).

    OMG!!!! 😁

    I LOVE Dover Sole.

(Should have dieted WAY more before this  cruise!)

But you can get the awesome ahi tuna sandwich at the Pool Grill on Regent as well as the lobster nachos ("extra lobster, please").  Those plus the Regent "cocktail of the ship" are our traditional lunch upon boarding.  We'll be trying the "Mariner" cocktail for the first time next February.

We'll be doing the opposite, @Blowfish64--taking our first cruise on Crystal Serenity in October after four cruises with Regent since 2021.  We are looking forward to making the comparison after reading all the rapturous reviews on the Crystal boards.

We are first time Regent cruisers boarding the Mariner next week.

As if I wasn't excited enough - ahi tuna might be my favorite food in the world!!!!

Our food experiences will be different than most, my husband is a vegan and I'm a pescatarian ( vegetarian who eats fish but not shellfish) .

I betcha some of us are watching closely to see if our Premier remains on our booking, like we did for the Star comp cruise!

If the image above is the only notice you have of having the Premier package you will have a tough time proving that to Princess.

As I said before, the bidding site to upgrade cabins  (which is where that screenshot is from) is from a third party, not Princess, so any misinformation is on them.

  6. 26 minutes ago, dog said:

The description here for bid does not match the pics I posted from my booking.  Chat & phoning said they cannot see that I have any package.

I got a second pop up saying I  Also have lounge access.

I am just going to say I am not expecting any benefits except for access to Sanctuary and private restaurant.

Who do princess have working for them? So much annoyances pre cruise.

If you get those pop ups (from Princess, not the third party site) again take a photo with your phone .

I still can't access my personalizer at all - still says technical difficulties, so maybe they're working on it.

What it looks like is that they are showing the amenities you'd be getting if you were to book your cabin now. Somehow they've upgraded you to current booking benefits.

Does that only show on the site to bid for an upgraded cabin or does it show when you log in to your current cabin and it's benefits?

I think the upgrade site is third party so that might be where the glitch is. (And not a reliable source)

If it shows on your personalizer then Princess also thinks you qualify.

Have you called Princess or your travel agent about this?

I have printed all of this, but want it in an email as to glitch or free upgrade perk.

Yes - My TA checked and we're fine.

She has no idea why we got that email.

She and I can't fathom where they got $138/pp/pd figure from!

We're in 2 M2 cabins, sail in December so they change to Sanctuary.

Anyone else think this is a glitch re: premier package not paid for?

    Sorry to say, yes.

I got an email (that I 've posted several times) saying I can upgrade to the Sanctuary class and the Premium for $138/pp/pd.

We already are in a Sanctuary cabin and have the Plus package and besides that the Premium package is only $90/day to start with.

So something is VERY glitchy with Princess right now.

(And when I try to log on I've gotten the "under maintenance" notice for the last 4 days.)

BUT - If these notices about having the Premium package are in writing you have nothing to lose by printing them out and bringing them with you!😄

We will just have to go to guest services on the ship to see what will be our charged.

I usually pre pay CA & elite internet but will wait to do it when I board.

I ordered my bottle water & paid for 3 specialty dinners.

chat & phone calls ended with sending me back to waiting for a connection to a supervisor because the package is not in Princess computers.

i will post if I get an email response from customer relations.

I did not expect to get a freebie, either.

    what is CA?

Is that every day or just sea days?

I would imagine it's just port days since Luminae is open for lunch on sea days.

Speaking of Luminae - is it open for lunch on embarkation day?

I had a 'burger at the Salty Dog on the Enchanted in March and it was delicious. Requested it be cooked the way I like it. No problem.

@doghog - There aren't really any choices in how to cook plant based burgers. What exactly is how you like it?

You may find something to your liking at the spa cafe, mast grill or Cafe Al Bacio. All three are no additional cost.

We haven't sailed E class before. Other than the buffet - where is lunch served on port days?

    Spa cafe?

So the exact same options as on S Class. Nothing more? That's a disappointment.

If it's the big Sunday Brunch (only on a Sunday at sea and generally only on Grandeur, Explorer, and Splendor) I believe it starts at 10 am.  If it's just the Champagne and Caviar" Sunday then I think it's 9 am.

Is the brunch announced in the daily newsletter or is it an "If you know, you know..." type of event?

I have a reserve mini suite booked for November which has been upgraded to a Sanctuary class mini suite. I have been getting these pop up notifications as well, even though I know I won’t have Lounge access.

I think the point is that Princess is sending these pop up notifications to those of us in Sanctuary balcony and mini suite rooms with misinformation. Another instance of them not having their act together.

I saw the Premier Package listed.  However, when trying to go to my cruise page it says they are having technical difficulties.  It happened all last night too.  I just would like to know what the "suite benefits and upgrades are"  I called my Princess Cruise Planner a few minutes ago.  I said initially back in June you said it was a mistake.   I said two months later when a friend of mine was looking to book the Cabana Mini Suite it says the very same thing.  She had me send her a screen shot and she is going to try to find out what it means as she had no idea.

This is what I've seen for the last three days  when trying to log into my account to see these pop ups people are talking about.

    We're having technical difficulties

We apologize for any inconvenience and will be back shortly.

Has anyone tried the plant based burger?

Hoping it's better than the horrible mash-up served at the pool.

The Retreat sun deck has a limited lunch menu, salad, burgers, turkey club, and a few other items.

We are vegan and vegetarian (Me -vegetarian, he - vegan) Will there be anything we can eat on the Retreat sun deck?

Also, will this be a problem in Luminae? We've only sailed Aqua up till now and they've always been very accommodating!

  19. @JimmyVWine - Do you have a good TA? Not a big box one but someone who can contact the right people at Princess and get a definitive answer (in writing) for you?

As I said earlier, I don't think you'll get access to the Sanctuary but I know our TA would know exactly who at Princess to contact to get a definitive answer.

EDIT: Look at @dog's solution below. You'll be sure to get all of the amenities you want.

Thanks. When the cruise was sold, the Reserve Mini Suites did NOT include the Sanctuary. Am I to believe that now, with this upgrade offer, they do?  I am more than willing to trade my Cabana for seating in the Sanctuary, especially given the Spartan furniture in the Cabana.

I don't think you'll get access to the Sanctuary if you sail before Oct. 14.  I'm not sure but I think so - sorry!!!

You should know that the Sanctuary on this ship isn't like the Sanctuary on other Princess ships. There is almost no shade and most of the loungers are NOT the beautiful padded ones but just the regular ones. There is a bar and a pool but there are several of those on other places on the ship. To me the forward Dome and Sea View pool area look much nicer than the Sanctuary.

So I think you'll just be trading your Cabana for a larger interior cabin and the private Reserve dining room.

Hoping someone can help me out here. I am sailing on Sun in September, before the changes go into effect regarding the new cabin categories. But received an email today regarding bidding for an upgrade. I am currently in a Cabana Mini-Suite (not Cabana Deck). I can bid for any type of Suite I want (for way too much money) or for a “Sanctuary Mini-Suite” which is a category that didn’t exist when I booked and which I thought didn’t exist until October 14. So can anyone who has figured all this stuff out tell me what category cabin I would get if my bid for a Sanctuary Mini-Suite is accepted and what comes with it?  The email says that I would have access to a private dining room with no reservation needed. Would this be the Reserve or the Signature dining room?  Anything else that would matter?  The minimum bid to upgrade is as close to $0 as as can be. (Less than $10 per day per person.). So I am ready to pull the trigger except for one major thing, which is cabin location. Since the deck plan for September cruises doesn’t show this specific category of cabin, I have no idea where I might get relocated and that matters to me. Can anyone help??

The cabin category for before Oct would be Reserve Mini Suite.
Just be aware that you will lose the cabana area in your cabin. You will gain a larger cabin with a larger sofa and bathroom and you will have access to the Reserve dining room.
if that sounds attractive go for it.

Nothing official has been announced on the Sanctuary Collection dining changes.  Just word of mouth.  Picked up by that TA,  Note added to the cruisedeckplans site.

But still not on the Princess deck plans.

Wouldn't it be simple to just issue a press release and/or change the deck plans (when I check our December cruise I have to designate whether I'm sailing before or after October 14 , so that would be easy) to get rid of all the rumors.

I think one problem was that the Signature (suite) restaurant has been reportedly half empty and the Reserve (former Club class, future Sanctuary) restaurant was always crowded. So maybe combining both in a larger space will even things out.

That said, I'm NOT happy about the change!!!
