  1. She's coming for me!

Yes the Qm2 is back from the 4th celebration

I was on board and now I am sitting on deck chair

    Facing governors island. It's warm

    Here

At 5 pm the QM2 will sail up to the Statue of Liberty

    And close to manhattan

Commodore will give more details later

  2. And the moral of this report is: If you must fly in on departure day, book your flight through Cunard.

This is the perk of booking with Cunard. Tour Packages also. If your on your own on a tour and are late for the ship, your on your own! The ship will leave

  3. It is amazing to me how they are able to zoom in as they do. I believe most (all?) of the PTZtv webcams were upgraded recently.

The weather seems to have deteriorated (as pmb1 said was predicted) in the last few minutes. If you didn't know what you were looking for, you wouldn't be able to see her.

Hi The Qm2 is delayed sailing due to in coming

Passengers on flights due bad weather

    Commodore Ryan made the announcement

All pools and hot tubs closed with nets

    Bon Voyage

  4. Happy to see the QM2 made it in as scheduled.

Will be boarding her in a couple of hours for the voyage north.:)

    Bon Voyage!

You will be sailing to Halifax. A city rich in martime and Cunard

    History

    Have fun

  5. Good Morning QM2. Docked in Red Hook

It's amazing and interesting how we can

Trace the the voyage of the ships

And know where they are and the weather

    They are sailing in:)

  6. Both sites are now updating her position more often as she aproaches New York. The Waypoint tool in MarineTraffic has her reaching the Verrazanno Narrows bridge about 5 AM at her current speed.

Last reported at 2013-Jul-01 01:33 UTC. Time now 2013-Jul-01 01:58 UTC.

    Position N 40°32' W 071°06'.

    Average speed 17.8 kn

I don't know what they consider "arrival time" - the time where she is securely moored or the time ready for disembarkation?

Good news Blue Riband. Excellent reporting. QM2 should now be a rump line

  7. For those intereseted, there are two links to follow QM2.

Sailwx gives detailed updates on her position, speed, and weather conditions. Graphics are a bit crude but the operational details more than make up for it.

MarineTraffic has much better graphics and port maps can also be switched from graphic to satellite images. Their information will often be outdated if QM2 is out of AIS range. She should shortly be coming up near Sable Island and will fall within an AIS sector.

On Marine traffic, The QM2 is arriving ,estimated time, at 7:45 A.M.

Looks like a late arrival into NY

  8. The Queen Mary 2 continues her great circle route to NY. It appears from the web cam ,that the QM2 is sailing in dense FOG

I tried to see cam of QM2 on Cunard ,but it was not working. Since the QM2 is arriving in NY ,Monday July 1,the QM2 may be off the coast of newfoundland?

  9. No....er...not. If you were to have looked at her schedule for 2013 (as well as the last 7 or more years) you'd have known that QM2 will be in her usual place on July 4....250 miles northeast in Boston, MA.

    July 1 Brooklyn

    July 2 Sea

    July 3 Halifax

    July 4 Boston

    July 5 Sea

    July 6 Brooklyn

Boston is the USA and celebrate the 4th of July:)
  10. As of this writing AIS shows her 45NM out of Southampton and doing 18.5kn. Whatever the "operational difficulties" were her propulsion system seems to be just fine.

Is the QM2 sailing to NY?

  11. Hi Turquoise. Well, she's got to cross the Pond first. One week from today...NYC awaits her arrival on Monday, the first of July. We'll keep the Light on for her, yes? :) -S

    Hi Salacia:)

Yes we will keep a light on for her

    As well

As the Statue of Liberty !

The QM2 will be in the USA for the

4th of July Independence Day Celebrations:)

    T:)

  12. My info is from inmarsat and I remember that normally she arrives before 09.00h. She is on her way :)

Good news. I wonder what are/were the operational difficulties.

The Qm2 Dus is due to arrive in NY/Brooklyn due next Brooklyn

  13. Thanks. It should be quite acceptable: all lobster bibs are 'self-tie' (no clip-on) hehehehheheh :D

Ah yes. Should be quite acceptable , but one never knows

With the way Cunard changes the Dress code. LOL

Do the bibs come it colors? Hmmmm Pink with poco dots

    Will suit me fine... LOL:D

  14. I hope they'll report back on how the 'informal' nights are going over...that is, just how are people dressing under the new rules.

The informal for the 4th July Getaway: Jacket required & tie optional for gentlemen. Cocktail dress, stylish separates or equivalent for ladies. Four nights.

The formal : Dinner jacket, tuxedo or dark suit with tie for gentlemen.

Evening or Cocktail dress for ladies

    ONE NIGHT ONLY

  15. Thank you for your words of praise. Carnival pseudo art deco is best illustrated by thinking of the way the QM2 is decorated in the common passages leading to the Britannia restaurant on Decks 2 and 3.

It is a modern reinterpretation of art deco. If you have studied the amazing décor on the QM as originally launched in 1936, which I have been privileged to do, then you will readily see the difference between that original style and what we can see on board the QM2.

HI, ok I got it. It's very nice that you remember the QM of 1936. That's a tribute of its own.

The QM2 is a ship of the 21st. century , so things change ,hopefully for the better.

At least the Queen Mary is still around for everyone to enjoy in california

  16. I think perhaps Carnival pseudo art déco. It is a long way from the 1930s liners Normandie or the original Queen Mary in style.
I love how you make design "your own"

How can one describe your term " carnival pseudo art deco?"

    what does it mean?:(

  17. It is a shame, but Cunard is now part of the NWO brigade. On the surface, the company must do what it can in these endlessly harsh economic times . However, the British tradition of Cunard had to be very gradually dilluted. Hence, QM2 is now a tourist cruise ship.

I brought this up because of the recent changes at the

    "TOP"

We must not forget that Carnival is the owner of Cunard

The Cunard of the 1930 to 1960 is gone:(
