Last cruise we were on we had one steward for the first three days, then an abrupt change to another one. The second one explained that the first had been covering for him while he was away for a week. I can only imagine what would have taken the 2nd steward away from the ship for a week; he was certainly very down. We cut him quite a bit of slack, knowing that something very bad had probably happened in his life.
So, what I'm suggesting is that there are probably some times when we need to cut the crew some slack. They're real people, with real lives away from the ship, and very real feelings. A few words of compassion and empathy usually go a long way.

I just called to see about upgrading my dad from an OV to balcony, and the price I was quoted was the current difference between OV and balcony listed on the NCL booking engine, minus a smidge -- maybe senior discount? But no, it wasn't a set price to upgrade, he actually looked up the prices, and saw on his screen the same thing I was seeing on my computer.

And if you're on one of the open decks, you'll be able to hear when they play Lee *********'s "I'm Proud to be An American" as you pass the Statue of Liberty. :)

My mom has been adament about not taking advantage of the fact that we are in a suite, but I think it would be nice if we could be checked in together -- even if it means we wait in a longer line with them.
You can certainly check in with your non-suite traveling party in the suite line. It's done all the time. ;)

You're welcome, Kiyoko. :) Just wish I could have been more helpful. I don't know about the CAS passes as the last cruise I was on -- first with VIP status -- was on the Sun, and they don't have a thermal suite. :o

There is generally a clothes line that pulls out in the shower.
And the hair dryer. ;)

I think spa passes are only sold for the length of sailing. I don't know if they even sell day passes anymore -- used to be they would, if they had space.

:d yay!!! :d

Your edocs should indicate whether the ship will dock or tender in your ports.

If you put it on the slip, the extra tip goes into the pool. If you tip in cash, the server gets to keep it. At least, that's what I've been told. ;)

I don't recall... It's probably 10-20%. On the spa menu it will be listed as the "Value" price.

The only time we had success requesting a specific butler was when we were in the GV. Good luck with your request!

It's the same process in NY port.
The priority line for suites at security in NY is on the far right. There will be a person with a clipboard there, too. ;)
-
The only port day discounts I'm aware of are on spa treatments.

I should qualify that...
You'll get one bottle of sparkling wine, one box of chocolates, but TWO dinners for 2. :D

You will go up to the suite pax check-in line, and they have a list of suite room numbers. ;)

As one of the 5 finalists in this contest, I wanted to say that the right video is winning. As soon as I saw your video, I told my husband "Sorry, babe, but I'm not going to win." I know it's not over yet but unless there is some crazy last minute surge, this contest is ending how it should. :)
Wow, Pacclady, I think that's the classiest post I've ever seen on CC. Now I'm sorry there couldn't be TWO winners, because yours is a ~great~ attitude. :)

In Cozumel you will likely take a ferry then the bus, since Xcaret is on the mainland. ;)
And if I'm remembering correctly, Maya Key is just a short boat ride from the pier.
