  1. When addressing a complaint, I get the best results when I provide a specific deadline for action before escalation.

I'm afraid that if you email any of the Miami people your email won't be read in time to help.

If it were me, I'd deadline the hotel director with a promise to escalate to USPHS and CDC. Last thing they want is a surprise USPHS inspection upon return to a US port.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this. I've dealt with unruly/classless passengers in the Haven, on a couple of sailings. That's why I refuse to spend the money for the Haven anymore.

    Good luck.

  2. I stayed in 10502. No noise from the bridge. All those cabins have to maintain blackout conditions after dark, though, so the bridge doesn't get light pollution. That means keeping your curtains drawn, and if you want to use the balcony after dark, turn off your lights before you go outside. Be aware that those on the bridge can see most of your balcony. When I took my coffee out in the mornings I would always turn and wave; they waved back. ;-)

  3. Given the seeming never-ending nature of Free at Sea, I'm reminded of the class action suits against the maker of My Pillow for similar marketing tactics:

"Two false advertising class-action lawsuits were filed against MyPillow alleging that the company’s “buy one get one free” (BOGO) and 50% off promotions are deceptive. Specifically, the complaints allege that the company claims to include a 'free' pillow with the purchase of a pillow when, in reality, the regular price of one pillow is inflated resulting in consumers getting two pillows at or near the price of two pillows. In addition, the complaints allege MyPillow offers 50% off the regular price of pillows when, in reality, the regular price of the pillow is inflated to approximately twice the regular price and therefore the discount is illusory."

The genesis of the suits was the never-ending BOGO sale.

  4. From reading the comments on this thread -- and this isn't intended to be incendiary, so please don't take it that way! -- it sounds to me like Princess had made a conscious choice to not court today's cruising families. Maybe they need to finally go all in. Create ships that appeal specifically to a more mature clientele. A sort of mass-market cruise line adult experience, for those of us who don't care to shift toward the "luxury" brands. If Princess can admit to themselves that they're really not a "family cruise line" -- stop trying to be all things to all people -- maybe then they can get serious about providing all the things the people in their market niche desire.

  5. Myself I go another step, I have a Maritime Law Attorney that I use, and he is the first one I contact. So even before meeting with the Hotel Director, my attorney has messaged the cruise line in question tell them I have a issue that he hopes can be resolved without any future involvement by him. Cruise lines will push passengers around and walk all over you until they find out you will not allow them to do so. Hope you can resolve this.

Can you tell us how many cruise lines have banned you?

  6. This is our 1st time traveling with a C PAP. My neighbor said that at the airport they will put some kind of chemical through it make sure it is a c pap machine. DO they do this at the port as well? I am asking bc this determines if I pack it or carry it on in its own case that it comes with.

The only sort of "chemical" test I've had at an airport is where they swabbed the machine with a test strip, then inserted the test strip into a device to detect chemical traces.

  7. The reason why the Haven is now so expensive is because of the upgrade advantage program. NCL knows that not many people will pay 14K for that room, but they will probably pay between 7K and 10K through the upgrade advantage program.

I agree that's probably the reason why it's so expensive.

NCL think that's good for business and maybe it is. For me who only is interested in a suite but think that $14000 is too much when there are other options (=MSC Yacht Club) it's not interesting so for now they have lost my money.

Even if I could I shouldn't be interested in booking a minisuite and hoping for a upgrade for a decent price so I'm out, for now.

    I agree wholeheartedly.

I'm one who booked suites outright. Not anymore. There is not the value for the current asking price.
