  1. There was a stretch of cruises a few years ago when we cruised as a family of 4, where we regularly visited the doctor's office. I used to joke that we would be interested in buying a medical package if that were ever available. I had to self administer a shot of Dupixent for my asthma, but I did not have any alcohol swabs left, so I made a trip down to Deck 1 get some. The waiting rooms were empty which is a great sign and the nurse at the front desk gave me some wipes.
  2. We have received certs for crossing the Atlantic a couple years ago and for a New Year's sailing. Kelly gave his eighth and final Beyond the Podium presentation this morning. It was titled "The Sputnik Years". At the conclusion of his presentation, someone in the audience asked him when his next cruises are. He said that his next cruise was in August--he didn't mention which ship, but he did say it was a Reykjavik to Boston sailing. He lives in Boston (where the highest concentration of professional astronomers work) and he is pleased with the idea of the cruise terminating at his home town. He also said that we was going to be on an Equinox trans-Atlantic this year. So it sounds like you will see him on your Eclipse sailing this August because the Iceland to Boston itinerary sounds pretty unique. I didn't attend it, but one of Kelly's presentations was devoted to auroras which I am sure will draw some interest on your northerly sailing. After having attended 5 of his presentations, I can tell you he is smart and an excellent communicator. Perhaps comparing him to the late Carl Sagan may be a stretch, but Kelly's combination of skills lay in that direction. I was entertained by the number of astronomy themed neckties that he wore.
  3. I thought the Revolution updates to the ship's interior (except for the cabins) look nice. The dining room does look better and I like the casino's color scheme.
  4. One of the designated smoking areas on the port side of Deck 4:
  5. Today's aft view. Like yesterday, its a bit chilly outside but no strong winds.

  7. Celebrity would have to install doors with sliding peepholes at the entrance.
  8. No! Don’t say that! I’m going to ask to have your post removed….
  9. I thought your answer—at least the way I read it—was generally correct as are virtually all of your posts.
  10. Last 20 PUP activity was credited in Aug 2022. It was a survey on shore excursions.
  11. Yes, we are very lucky to witness this rare atmospheric refraction phenomenon. According to our Behind the Podium speaker, Kelly Beatty, several unusual factors have to be present at the same time in order for it to occur. Having clear skies with an unobstructed view of the horizon is simply not enough.
  12. No sunset photos tonight due to clouds. Good night from onboard Summit
  13. No hassles for sure that way! Until this sailing, I have not run into any problems before like this photo on Solstice (New Years Day 2020): Or on Constellation in Oct 2022: There's something about Summit.....
  14. I took a few photos of the casino--a place will great lighting, splashy colors, and people with a wide range of facial expressions. Celebrity allows photos but not videos to be taken in their casino. However this casino had stricter rules. I was told that I could not take any photos of the casino employees. So, I asked one--in this case it was "Happy" in the photo that I posted yesterday. When I asked, Happy, he turned around to ask the Pit Boss if that was okay. The Pit Boss said that it was if he was ok with it. I dutifully took my photo and decided not to take anymore pictures than these. Tonight I was watching a player at the $10 table playing blackjack pretty crazy. In one hand, he hit a a hard 18 when the dealer's upcard was a 6! I noticed that after 15 minutes, he left the table empty handed...
  15. Apple products are sold at the Innovations shop on Deck 5 and the Photo Gallery on Deck 4. The inventory is limited. They just sold their last iPad (none of which had the Apple M-based processor). Surprisingly to me, the Innovations store carried M3 MacBook Pros although they only have the 16 inch laptop available as they had just sold their last 14 inch laptop).
  16. Tonight was our third and last Evening Chic Night. I had the Creamy Salmon Rillette (photo), Creamy Smoked Tomato Bisque (forgot to take a photo), and the Broiled Lobster Tail (photo of a poorly plated one. My wife, who isn't a lobster fan, ordered a lobster tail to go with her Duck A L'Orange so I could have a second lobster tail to avoid the fee.
  17. Some photos from our current cruse aboard Celebrity Summit: Summit sailing into the sunset off the Pacific coast of Mexico. Summit docked at Puerto Vallarta. Flora at a Costa Rican wildlife sanctuary. 3 cargo ships in the Gatun Locks at the Panama Canal. Cartagena, Columbia
  18. In 2010, when we sailed on Summit, Deck 11 had the children's club (aka Fun Factory) at the back of the ship. Today the Fun Factory (now called Camp At Sea) resides on Deck 11 but at the bow of the ship (port side). AquaClass balcony cabins were installed where the kids club used to be (Deck. aft). This change was made in 2012.
