  1. We are cruising on Journey June '22. I just went to the Azamara website to check most recent requirements for Greece and they have not updated the information since July '21! This seems rather concerning. Hopefully someone on these boards can advise...

  2. Considering two different Seabourn cruises. One is in December and goes from Dubai to Singapore ending just before Christmas. The other is in mid March going from Singapore to Dubai. The itineraries are slightly different but we were wondering if weather is a consideration? Appreciate any other input. We have experience sailing Windstar, AZAMARA, Celebrity and Seadream but would love to give Seabourn a try for our 45 th anniversary.

  4. Thank you for this thorough review. By any chance was the tour group from Backroads? Just wondering how rough for the seas during your cruise? Also what does it mean if the cruise begins at Ushuaia and ends at Punta Arenas? I have read some information suggesting to reverse direction is better and also the option of the complete round-trip

the Navica app didn't work on my Android or on DH's iOS phone. We just used the laptop to do the test through eMed.com. Printed off the results.

It has been our experience having done the test three times now, that you cannot use the app for testing you have to use the browser on your phone or other device. Not sure why they even bother with the app but it’s just to establish a username and password login and I supposed to be able to pull up your results more easily. We are boarding navigator of the seas today out of Long Beach and when my husband dead the test Tuesday night he had a great deal of difficulty communicating with a proctor to read his result. He would wait get a person and then that person would say they could not see or hear him and this happened about 10 times. He finally took his phone off Wi-Fi and did it on cellular and it worked. The whole thing was very strange because I had tested a few hours before and our home Wi-Fi is just fine and I had no problems.

We are B2B and brought on 4 bottles.  At security,  they saw the first 2 bottles and said we had to register them with Royal.  After they saw the second 2, I told them we were B2B.  They did not even ask for documents.  Just said OK.  Of course there was no need to register the wine.

Do you bring you personal wine onboard in your carryon so they can check it?

Just boarded Navigator for the 3 day cruise out of LA! Check in time was 12, we are suite guests so they told us we could come an hour early.
Our shuttle driver was early to pick us up in Hollywood so we arrived at the cruise port 30 mins early. We knew we were early, insisted on just letting us sitting outside until around check in time. They wouldn’t allow it- wanted to take our bags and get us in line assuring us it was totally fine!

We we’re through the check in line within 10 mins, sat down for 5 before calling Boy Voyage and allowing us in the ship.

Everyone had their documentation printed out, vaccination cards ready, negative Covid tests printed out.

From the time we stepped out of the car, took our bags- we were on the ship in about 20 minutes with a drink in our hand!

In terms of Covid test- I was super nervous about this part. I read a lot about the Emed tests at home. Best decision ever! We did them Sat morning at our home before our flight to LA. Had results a couple of minutes and it was extremely refreshing to know all was good before we even left our house to travel! Highly recommend this method of testing.
We did book test at the pier as a back up option if the at home didn’t work but cancelled once we knew the at home tests were good!

We are looking forward to the next few days!

    Have a fabulous cruise!

Drink package: As soon as you step onboard, you can order drinks; if you don't have your sail card yet (cabins open at 2pm), just give your room number. If you want the soda cup for the Freestyle machines, pick that up at the Cafe Promenade bar.

Zoom: When onboard, connect to the ship guest wifi and open the Royal Caribbean app. Click on the profile icon (upper right) and scroll down to Internet packages. Follow the instructions there to connect. There's a Zoom help desk near Guest Services on 5.

Great info-will be good to know as we pre-purchased a combo package for our upcoming cruise December 16.  My question for you is:  How was debarking?  Did you have long lines as you left the ship? What was the process re:going through immigration?  Just wondering how much time it will all take in car we want to pre-book a car to take us to John Wayne (SNA) airport.  Thanks for the tips! Julie

  9. There may be some tests that allow for the proctored testing to be done on the app but the kits we have did not. The tests you buy over the counter at the drugstore are useful for letting you know your status re: covid in situations where you might be attending an event with family and just want to be sure you do not have covid.

You need to show a negative test taken no more than two days before the cruise to board.

I already am aware of the need to test pre-cruise.

I was asking for what is available once you are actually on the cruise, sail out of the country to Mexico then return to the US-isn't the requirement still in place to present a negative test in order to enter the US?

  11. I was just informed today that if you order through Optum you can order fewer than 6 test kits. If you buy directly from EMED you must purchase 6. This can be a problem as the kits have expiration dates. Also, be very careful not to open your box until the proctor tells you to do so! We have done this test twice-once pre-return from Iceland and once when we were two days out from our flight home to the US from Italy. Be very sure you have good wifi and also be advised that you must log-in to Emed on your browser-NOT ON THE NAVICA app. You can use the app after testing to see your results but not to test. You will get a QR code but for our most recent test United Airlines would only accept a screenshot of the negative result written out.

  12. I just checked in on the app for our December cruise. When I did my check in I was prompted to take a photo of my vaccination record, however, when i did my husband's check-in it did not ask me for the vaccination info. Not sure what to do as it has given us both boarding passes(where it clearly shows we will have to answer health questions the day prior to departure). It also says testing requirements are pending. Suggestions? Obviously we will bring the vax cards with us

  13. Do all Club Veranda cabins on deck 7 have a tub/shower combo with shower curtain? We have previously sailed only in club continent suites but this time we decided to save the extra $ as the Greece intensive cruise has only one sea day and we plan to be off the ship in all of the ports. This cruise is on Journey June 17th 2022.

  14. Backroads says not to book a flight before 1pm on disembarkation day but we will already be in port the night before    Can we not rise early and arrange a transfer to the airport to get a flight around 10:40-11am? We will go a few days early pre-cruise and do some touring on our own so I believe we will want to get home that day. Thanks for any tips.
