  1. Another ship Oceania Insignia is docked in Hamilton. A tug boat is keeping the ship against the dock. Idalia strenghtened overnight.
  2. Just now I remembered another … on the Jewel Nov 2018 we went from Singapore to Sydney - great cruise, and we met a couple who were having so great time that they decided to book next sailing to stay on ship to New Zealand!
  3. Hey Greg, go back walking to town and get into the Red Onion saloon ….. 😁😊🤓
  4. Last year July we were on the Star round trip out of Reykjavik to Greenland … we didn’t make it to Greenland due to some storm brewing up between Iceland and Greenland so we went to Norway instead. A couple we met on board took it in stride (they hadn’t been to Norway!) and went on and booked the next sailing that did go to Greenland!
  5. NCL Platinum. My medical case was not pre-existing at the time we booked the cruise. NCL refunded all the extras, like tax/port fees, pre-paid DSC, booze/dining grats, excursions, etc. AON insurance paid the cruise fare less the insurance cost.
  6. When we cancelled a cruise a week before cruise date due to medical our CN was forfeited, but we were able to claim full cruise fare from AON insurance and that included the $250 ....
  7. You can use the FCC to pay for the October 2024 cruise. Prices dropped on our two May/June 2023 Alaskan cruises (back to back) after the final payment. I requested FCCs for the price drops, and they were applied to our NCL accounts at the completion of the Alaskan cruises. Then I applied them all (4 FCCs) to our existing Nov 2023 Viva Transatlantic cruise before the final payment. FCC is Future Cruise Credit and you can use it to apply as payment to existing and future cruises. P.S. @RocketMan275 beat me to it, he is also correct.
  8. The FCC will be applied to your NCL account on completion of your October 2023 cruise, and it will still be valid to be applied to your October 2024 cruise.
  9. yes! That’s the trundle bed I’ve heard about - for the 4th person in the cabin.
  10. Next time book a cruise that sails when the schools are IN!
  11. Sorry “won’t” should be “doesn’t”… That’s the BA+ class ship that we will not return to. Nice ship except for the mid ship chandelier- OMG!
  12. We did back in June while on NCL Spirit- great! And I want to do it again!
  13. We went on the ZipRider when we went to ISP on the NCL Spirit back in June - great ride and I want to do it again! I have a couple of videos if you want me to post them here ?
  14. Yep, that’s the reason we will not go back to Encore. Nice ship though, except for the mid ship chandelier OMG!
  15. Prolly because they have dedicated one elevator on deck 7 midship to go directly to deck 4 gangway.
  16. Good you found it - but you’ll have to go back there when ship is at sea. I posted the last message before I saw that you actually went there.
  17. Access to the bridge viewing is on deck 11 forward port side - don’t go there during docking or leaving port as the blinds will be closed.
  18. I don't know if you have looked under the bed, there is plenty of space to slide luggage in under bed to store. Also, it's easy for you to slide the bed over to wall. Enjoy the rest of the cruise on NCL Jewel!
  19. If you want to, move the left end table and push the bed left against the wall, then you’ll have double end tables and more floor space at right.
  20. Make sure the rainwear is at top of your packing list!!!
  21. Jade. Better ship than Star. Star and sister ship Dawn are our least fave ships of the NCL fleet …. no forward Observation Lounge (aka Spinnaker). But … Star goes to Greenland on the way, Jade doesn’t. That is the deciding point.
  22. Hey! Greg is a NCL newbie, so no Platinum dining vouchers, and he is on the Jewel, not on Encore or any other mega ships that has more dining venues than the Jewel class ships. Anyway, I would NOT want to cruise Alaska on any mega ships. Greg chose wisely to cruise Alaska on the Jewel (next fave ship is the Spirit).
  23. Nope, not really unless you’re a large party. The MDR is large enough for you to walk in.
  24. Another thing, don’t worry about the prices on the menus as you’re entitled to one appetizer, one entree ( with 2 sides) and one dessert. If you want an appetizer and a soup/salad it’s okay, they might give you a blind eye or not. Sorry, NCL doesn’t do that anymore.
