  1. And I responded to that post. Still a lighter and narrower ship (HAL Zuiderdam) than Prima, and it had to reverse all the way up, past the town before it turned around to head out of fjord forward. Prima????
  2. The ship that docked was HAL Zuiderdam! Much lighter at 82.3k gt than NCL Prima at 143.5k gt, and also narrower by 30ft. Zuiderdam, upon leaving the port, had to reverse up past the town before it can turn around to leave the fjord forward.
  3. Yes, there also are 4 hot tubs around the main pool, and there is a bar there too. On one evening (or lunchtime, I can't remember) they have poolside BBQ.
  4. Sorry @Seas2mountains I cannot resist posting this photo that was taken off the coast of Yemen during our Rome-Dubai Arabian Odyssey cruise on the Spirit in Feb 2020 - before the **** hit the fan. It was in our top 5 NCL cruises, along with our recent B2B Alaskan cruises, also on the Spirit!!
  5. Out of the two MDRs on Spirit we preferred Taste to Windows. More ambience, lovely staff and great service.
  6. There will be times when there are no kids, I'm sure. There is no bar in there but Spinnakers is downstairs, or you can go out thru door to Biergarten to get the drinks.
  7. There is a Multi-Function room on deck 13 forward, above Spinnaker, access is by going up stairs from deck 12 forward elevators (they don’t go up to 13). This room has library, games, card tables, nice views. I’m sure @YVRteacher and her Dad will be spending a lot of down time in there!
  8. If you use a CPAP machine, bring at least 15ft simple extension cord.
  9. I looked in the confirmation for our last year's Star cruise and it stated Dock for Isafjordur. We didn't dock but tendered using the ship's lifeboats. The fjord was calm and tendering was easy. Why couldn't Prima use her own lifeboats to tender passengers to town? This is a good question .... 🙈🙉🙊
  10. The Star is in Isafjordur today, at anchor in the fjord, and using her lifeboats as tender.
  11. And the next time you book a new cruise make sure to enter your wife’s correct latitude number otherwise the system gives her a new one.
  12. Did you keep all the cruise confirmations (as pdf) emailed to you by NCL each time you book the cruises, make payments, buy shore excursions, etc. And what about the eDocs? If you did, look at each of them (different cruises) and see the latitude number beside each passenger’s name. They should be the same number for each cruise but if they aren’t, then you have multiple latitude accounts! Collect all the info and ask NCL to merge them into a single account number per person, and then make sure to give NCL the correct numbers when booking cruises in future.
  13. It’s Southampton not South Hampton.
  14. Then the 6th person gets to sleep on sofa bed in the living room?
  15. Saw that the cabin is for 6 people, so if the 2nd bedroom bed isn't suitable for 2 adults, the 2nd adult can sleep in the sofa bed in the living room.
  16. Please give NCL a few days, or perhaps a week at least, to adjust themselves, shuffle and make new deployments, arrange and make new itineraries. If the Spirit is to be pulled out of Australia/NZ, NCL will not do that until they decide and redeploy another ship to take Spirit's place.
  17. This is right. On Spirit recently we - 3 of us: 2 with dining vouchers and one without - dined in Silk one evening - we ordered 8 sushi items (2 vouchers x 4 items each) and some asian dishes. We all 3 shared and scoffed up the lot.
  18. I'm sure they will appreciate and put up with what they have been given - they will have their own room to sleep in and own bathroom, at no cost to them. They will find that the rest of the haven family villa, access to Haven, bar, restaurant, and perks will greatly outweigh being put into a small guest room. If it were us and we invite our son and his g/f we would stick them in there and make them pay 1/3 of the cabin cost 😉😁😄 Don't fret! Are they also paying for your excursions? 😉 P.S. @JustAllie beat me to it, and she is correct!
  19. On the Jewel class ships (namely Jewel, Jade, Pearl, Gem), Star and Dawn the obstructed Ocean View cabins are all on deck 8 and are classified as OK cabins which is the lowest priced in the Ocean View category. We have stayed in one a few times and they were fine. We could still see the sea and sky.
  20. There will be a “glow” party where you can wear whites or neon. It will be held indoors (Spinnakers) so wear what you want and leave the sweats/woolies back in cabin. Do bring your fancy little white dress! Fun! No formal nights at all.
  21. The Star uses lifeboats as tender in Isafjordur.
  22. It worked well and fine while in the Spirit … we were just on her for two weeks B2B. May 31 to June 14.
  23. We tendered in Isafjordur when on the Star last July, it was fine, no issues and quite easy. Would be interesting to know whether or not Prima can tender, and if not, then why.
