  1. We had the opposite scenario. Flew into MIA and got a hotel near with a free shuttle. Then got a stretch limo the next morning to Port Everglades. The limo was about the same price as a taxi and a whole lot more fun and nicer. Felt pretty cool rolling up to the cruise ship in a stretch. Until we checked into our inside cabin.

  2. I noticed on the deck plans that there was a small room that is part of the Crimson dining room. It is called the Crimson Lounge. Does anybody have any information on how a small group traveling together could use this for their dining area. Looks to hold around 15-20 passengers. We have 16 in our group and we would all like to dine together. All of our bookings are linked.

  3. We actually stayed in a hotel out of town and took their shuttle to the port so unsure about the Riverwalk method of getting into the terminal.

All the lines were bad in addition to the buffet. The Grill, Deli and the Tandoor (sp?) were worse because the meals are made individually. Like I said, this is the first time I ever experienced lines like this on Carnival. Not sure what caused it. The doctor onboard mentioned they had 4000 guests onboard but Carnival's ships normally sail full. What surprised me though was Guest Services never had crazy lines when we had to go there or on the way to the restaurant. Speaking of the restaurant...we had ATD and always asked for a private table with the same staff and never waited. Dinner typically lasted just over a hour on most nights.

Do you mind sharing what hotel out of town you used and if you were pleased with it?

  4. I don't think you'll have any problems. I've booked our kids their own cabin on the last 4 cruises.......ages now are 23 & 17.

If they won't let you for whatever reason, people put one adult & one kid in each cabin reservation...then just switch when you get there. You can have your sign & sail room key cards changed at guest services.

We have our 2 kids (17 and 15) booked in their own cabin right next to us with no problem.

An advantage to 1 adult and 1 kid in each room is if you plan to buy the alcohol package, all 21 year olds in the room are required to buy it. You would only have to buy 1.

  5. What if a minor is traveling to the port with their relatives (not a parent) and the parent is meeting them there and the parent ends up missing the ship. Is there anyway for the minor to go ahead and travel with the rest of the family. The minor is booked in the room with the parent that doesn't make it. The family will have a notarized statement authorizing the minor to travel with them. Just trying to plan for any contengencies.

  6. I need some opinions and I know there are plenty on this site. We have a group of around 14 people cruising together. We are trying to figure out the seating situation of traditional dining. We like sitting together, but with that large of a group, we worry about how long the dining experience will be each night. Will it take longer with more people at the table than if we were split into smaller tables? We have the early dining time and this is my first experience with traditional dining. If it doesn't increase the time very much, we would like to do that and if so, how do we work to arrange sitting together. What is the biggest group that can sit together? If we have to split, how is the best way to get our tables near each other. It won't ruin the cruise even if I have to sit at a table by myself, but I am just trying to figure out how to make it the best.

  7. that's like comparing renting a mustang versus a lamborghini. some may be just as happy with the mustang especially since it was cheaper. Its just a matter of preference. private sail on a sailboat for the day including a fancy lunch, snorkeling, and swimming with turtles versus driving around in an open air truck seeing the island and visiting a beach.

  8. I've been browsing around on this site... very nice!

We are sailing out of Gaveston 3/15 on the Magic to Key West & the Bahamas.

What all is free in the all inclusive plan, or better yet, what will we have to pay for (besides alcohol)? I'm referring more about consumables and such on the ship, not excursions, pics, souvenirs, etc.

    Soft drinks, tea, etc?

What hidden costs do I need to worry about?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Very excited!

Come on over and join our roll call for 3-15-15

  9. Our excursion person arranged our taxi and it was $10 pp each way to red hook and back. If you get car sick in any way, make sure to use your preferred medication. Lots of windy turns and starts and stops. Traffic pretty clear in the morning, but much heavier in the afternoon.

  10. My wife and I are in one room and my 2 minor kids are in the adjoining/connecting cabin next door. Do I need to get an FTTF for each room or will my kids be able to check in at the same time my wife and I do with just one FTTF. I know you need one for each cabin with adults, but didn't know since the one cabin is just my kids. If they don't have one, will out lose out on the early boarding offered with mine? We can check all luggage under my cabin and we wouldn't worry about whether their cabin would be ready or not as soon as we board. We have no tendering and my kids will not need to stand in line for customer service onboard. I currently have one for each cabin but thought it would be a way to save $50 if the other one is not needed. Would also open one up to another well deserving passenger.
