  1. We were offered an upsell to a WS after booking a premium view. While onboard we contacted the captains circle rep, who said she couldn't change it to 2 cruise credits. When we got home, I called and it as a PAIN to get the double credits, but I eventually prevailed.

Wow! Sorry you had such a problem. Our Captain's Circle hostess had no problem giving us the extra credit. It looks odd on our cruise history as it shows up as 1 credit with no days.

  2. I think the 'On the Bayou' was the best show they had. I'm not sure if they moved it to the theatre.

I consider it one of the best shows I have seen. Part of the appeal was the intimacy of the Universe Lounge, complete with Mardi Gras decorations. In my opinion, this could not be duplicated in the main showroom, but I'm willing to give it a try when and if it is available.

In the meantime, I am hoping to get to see it one more time on the Coral, before she goes the way of the Island. I loved both those ships!

  3. I did a Seattle to Vancouver, overnighted at a hotel, and boarded a different ship to Los Angeles the following day.

There were so many ships in port that several people were able to move over to a different ship headed south on the same day.

Cr8tiv1, we were with you on that wonderful pairing. Loved it, and met many wonderful CC folks. It appears this opportunity is not available for 2015 or 2016.

Although a shame, it is still fun to fly to Vancouver and take the three day back to L.A. We have come to really enjoy these little getaways, have recently returned from our third northbound trip. A third southbound under consideration for this year, but the schedule is strange.

Perhaps something else will show up on the schedule, but don't discount a three day trip, paired with some extra time in Vancouver. It is a wonderful city. And, if it comes up again, give the five day repo a shot. We did that last year and the full days in San Francisco and Victoria were wonderful.

  4. Thanks. T/A told me they were offering upsells to a lot of the ME minis. Wonder what they are gonna resell them at:eek:. One quick question, since it was an upsell, I will still get double cruise credits for the suite correct?....:):):)

    Bob

Yes, you will get double credits! It may not be automatic, though. I checked while on board and spoke to the Captains Circle hostess, who took care of entering the second credit for us.

    Enjoy that aft suite!!!

  5. I didn't really mean to complain about the noise because we truly did love the WS! It was so nice to be extra-pampered for the week! If I am lucky enough to get one again, I'll just pack my earplugs, cause I won't be turning it down!

On the last night I took all the empty hangers off the racks and laid them on the floor of the closets. They rattled together with the movement of the ship and that kept me awake, too. I guess I'm just a light sleeper.

I didn't think you were complaining, only stating a fact. I would gladly listen to the creaking and groaning in that space!

  6. The window suites are wonderful, IMO. We got to do a tour while on a cruise last year with cr8tiv1 and fell in love with the size, large window views and location. I have been in balconies, minis and PS's, and have taken an upsell to a VS for my upcoming cruise, but I would love the opportunity to sail in a WS on a cooler weather cruise.

Your upsell opportunity was wonderful! I would happily put up with any creaking and groaning of the ship for all the benefits of a suite.

By the way, I agree with critterchick that the layout of the WS is superior to the VS!

So glad you enjoyed your trip!

  7. A chocolate with hazelnut dessert (don't remember the exact name) was offered on our Golden repositioning cruise last month. It was one of the best, if not the best, desserts I have ever had on Princess! So many of the desserts look better than they taste...not so with this one!

  8. Be sure not to miss the show" On the Bayou". We think it is the best production show Princess has done, and it's only on Coral and Island. I do hope it hasn't been abbreviated to half an hour.

Ditto! Do not miss this show! We agree that this is the best production Princess has done! I most recently saw it in May, and I do not remember the length of the performance. I've been to some half hour productions that lasted 15 minutes too long for me, but I would have been happy with more time "On the Bayou!"

  9. Did you use your AMEX Platinum card to pay for the cruise and request the AMEX Platinum OBC?? If you requested the AMEX Platinum perks for your cruise, this may be the source....

The drink coupons are given on the short cruises when no Past Passenger parties are scheduled. They are nice because they are "valid in any bar, except dining rooms or room service."

  10. A friend of mine told me that there is a two part episode of the Love Boat in season 3 where they sail out of Vancouver to Alaska then on to LA. I thought some of you who have sailed to Alaska out of Vancouver may see a little difference in the skyline between then and now.

It was just on this past week and I loved it! It appeared that some of it was actually filmed on board and not in a studio. This was one of my favorite shows 35 years ago, but I did not remember these episodes!

Yes, Vancouver looked very different, as well did Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau...but so does Cabo and Long Beach!

  11. Another shout out to Princess! At 10:00 this morning, I faxed my shareholder benefit request form for my last minute booking of a cruise departing in three days. The credit was posted when I next checked at 2:45.

    Thank you, Princess!

  12. We have three rooms booked at La Quinta Inn & Suites Ft. Lauderdale Airport for February 28th. They do have a shuttle to Port Everglades available for $8/pp, but I was wondering if I could get an estimate for a taxi service. We would need two taxis but I thought this would give us more control over our departure time.

Also, what are your feelings about the La Quinta Inn...as opposed to the Comfort Inn, now Quality Inn & Suites on Stirling Rd?

Thank you, in advance, for any assistance!
