  1. I would be interested in taking on board good quality white wines and paying the corkage fee in the dining room but how do you get them cold enough? Are the room fridges big enough to take bottles and would they chill it to the right temperature? In my experience, the fridges in cabins are not particularly useful; perhaps it's better to stick to reds?

The Wine is stored in your dining room Cellar which is temperature controlled ALL Wines Red or White should be stored at a Temperature of between 45f & 60f Reds should be taken out of the Cellar 1 hour before opening & Whites as close to consumption as possible, No wine should be allowed to reach a Temperature of 84f as that will make the Wine undrinkable.

  2. Myself and my husband are sailing on the Queen Elizabeth in an outside cabin, but we have decided to upgrade into a balcony so went online and a balcony is now £400 cheaper than what we had paid, so thought happy days gave them a call only to find out that they want to charge us £900 on top off what we have paid so a cabin they are selling at £3798 it will cost me £5100 doesn't seem fair and has left a very bad taste in my mouth, what can I do about it. If anything

If you the Saving is greater or more than your Deposit then bite the bullet & Cancel the booking & rebook at the lower price Ok you lose your deposit & no one likes losing money but you get your Balcony cabin. But do it before the 90 day final payment is due.

  3. I use a Old basic payg phone No 2/3/4 g No aps on Tesco which is 02 & I find it very good for the odd text or phone call back home If the credit runs out you can Top it up by using the Keypad on the phone so you are always in control of the expenditure , By the way it does not matter what network you normally use on the ship all the calls have to go through the ships network & everyone pays the same rate Payg & Contract same price.

  4. Last November I booked a cruise on the Q.E. Cunard fare for this November Balcony cabin Price £3459 pp with $480pp o.b,c. x 2 £6918 today the same cabin on a Cunard fare is £2199 pp x 2 £4398 & no o.b.c That's £2520 cheaper, So I am cancelling my booking & rebooking at the lower fare (same cabin grade) even after losing my deposit of £1038 I am still better off by £1482. Ok I have lost the o.b.c but the £1482 reduction will make up for that. As our American members say do the Maths.

Just received confirmation from my T.A & I have exactly the same cabin for £2199 pp x 2 =£4398 +$380 obc+ $600 obc from the F,C,D + $400 military obc = $1360 obc So I have lost $480 obc But I am saving £1582 & my T.A has also now given me Free Car Parking that would have cost me £244 So I am a Happy Bunny with the result

  6. Hello,

I wonder if anyone can tell me the price of hairdressing in the salon? I would be looking for wash/blowdry for shoulder length bob cut.

    Thanks,

    Coco

My Wife has hers done in the same manor & it costs me $ 50/60 including a tip.
  7. There was just a general tolerance by the crew of people smoking in the no-smoking area of the shaded area of Deck 8.... This was where the sail away parties were held and where the band played at lunchtimes.....there were only about 8 tables and nowhere else for non smokers to sit apart from on the sun loungers........

The nightclubs on QV and QE are both non smoking.....

    Just saying!

On the Q.M.2 Cigarettes smokers are not allowed to use Churchill's Cigar Lounge . So upstairs in G32 was designated as a inside smoking area for Cigarette smokers On the Q.V, & the Q.E. They are allowed as its now been designated as a Smoking Lounge,
  8. I've just read this post on another cruise forum:

Cunard has suspended Dry cleaning for a while as they changed there system to Green Earth cleaning which resulted in some passenger having there cloths ruined it used to cost $12 to have a Dinner Suit dry cleaned but now for $ 9 they will only Press it.

Which is interesting. Maybe that's what happened to the now famous Armani Tux ?

Alibacruisers posted on her thread posts 30 &363 that Dry cleaning is being suspended for a while some insight into this.http://cruiseforums.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?p=45918824
  9. If I change my pre-booked cruise (October 2015) to another cruise, will I lose my deposit?
If you booked a Cunard Fare then as long as your other cruise is more expensive than your current cruise the charge would be £100 for changing the booking
  10. I would not worry about boarding times just arrive between 11,30 & 15,30 . You say that your Mother can not walk very far I would ask for assistance in boarding its a fair walk uphill onto the ship they will take her onboard in a Wheelchair right to her room if she wishes to go there.& the same on disembarking at the end of the cruise. If you find that she has difficulty getting around the ship ask at the Pursers Desk for a wheelchair they keep 16 chairs for those that need them
