Just wanted to let everyone know that my husband & I are enjoying anytime dining this week on the Silhouette. There has been no wait yet for a table for 2. Tuesday night at 7:15 we even got seated next to the railing~ overlooking diners below. We have gone at various times and have not had to wait yet. Sharing this because of many recent posts regarding long wait!

Our group of four had awonderful cruise! Very happy with just about everything.

We were in Aquaclass and BLU was wonderful. The only slip up was one night when a table full of VIP’s decided to dine at the same time as we did and service declined for everyone but them.

I certainly understand thestaff wanting to please and perhaps impress but not at the expense of the whole dining room being greatly neglected. When we finally did get some service our waiter

Explained the situation and apologized. We told him he had nothing to apologize for, just doing his job. A little consideration from the higher –up’s toward their customers would be appreciated!

 

How does one know if someone seated in the restaurant was a "VIP". You also mentioned high rollers in the casino. How does one determine this?

Vanessa (shoreside concierge for Millie) just emailed to let us know that Jovon (last name?) is taking over for Rhiannon in Michael's Club starting March 18th.

There is other info that shows the Captain and various personnel however that is outdated, it was from January.

If anyone is presently on the Millennium or boards in the next few weeks could you please provide updates on Senior Officers and Staff.

Anyone else having this problem on the Celebrity Website -------- when you choose the Flights by Celebrity all it does is flash on & off over & over again ...... never get into the site...... very irritating to say the least ......

Yes....most annoying. Has been doing this for almost two weeks now. X is "working on it".

Sorry....his name totally escapes me. He was the maitre d in BLU and was moving to Luminae.

Maja is now the Suite Manager. She told me she is leaving Summit in January - but I do not know exactly when in January. I'm sailing on January 20th, so I really hope that both she and Anastasia are still on the ship. I'm also hoping that Charles is still the Luminae Maitre'd.

 

 

Charles left at the beginning of December...back home for a well deserved vacation with his wife and daughters.

Does anyone know who is the Michael's Club concierge on the Summit???

 

On December 2 it was Anastasia and Suite Manager was Maja. Do not know if the rotation has changed as of this writing.

Not trying to be rude however does it really matter? I am not sure this is the forum to name the Captain who was on the ship. I do assume that some will agree with me and others will not. Just my 2 cents worth.

Called Celebrity Air (Choice Air) again to get a different Agent. She was able to successfully override the system and got the flight I needed.

Both staterooms have bed by the balcony. 7222 is up forward near the forward elevators. If you are standing at the rail and you look down at the water, you will see lifeboats. 6287 is back aft. Looking down you will see water. Back aft you are near the aft elevators -- up to the Sunset Bar and lawn club, and down to the dining, martini bar, and cellar masters. I would go for the one back aft. You can walk the stairs one deck down to Café al Bacio.

Also thanks to "Essie's Mom". I was able to see the cabins on the spreadsheet.

It seems to have become a little more complicated, but if you click on the spreadsheet, after the directions page has loaded, go to the bottom and click on 'cabins' and the list should appear. Incidentally, those two cabins are located in the same place on all of the S class ships, so a review on any ship will apply. EM

Thanks. I should have mentioned that I did go to this tool however when I open the link for the spreadsheet all I find is a blank page. Obviously I am doing something wrong. There are over 130 pages...hard to scroll through each entry to look for these specific staterooms.

Does anyone have any information about these two staterooms. I know they are standard veranda rooms. Any "real" negatives for either one of them. Any pluses (:)) would be appreciated too.

We are cruising on Celebrity Silhouette in February and are wondering who is the current provider of the frozen Kosher meals? Is it Sterling or Weberman? Is it possible to get a menu in advance of sailing? Is the food edible? Which are the best selections?

 

Breakfast - some former cruisers have told us that the breakfast chef opened a new pan and spatula to make fresh eggs for kosher travelers. Can anyone confirm that this happens regularly?

 

Fridge- We have a 1B balcony cabin. Will we have a fridge and can we bring packaged kosher items like cheese? Chumus? Halva? etc.???

 

Wine- Does anyone know what kosher wines are available on Celebrity?

 

Ice Cream- we've heard that the soft ice cream is kosher (OU-D) and so are the cones. Can anyone confirm?

 

Any other updated info you can share?

 

We've cruised many times before we began keeping kosher. This is our first cruise as kosher diners and we are nervous!

Obviously this is something that is of importance to you. Cruise Critic is a wonderful forum and many people give very good feedback on here. However, I am not sure that anyone can guarantee the "correct" answers for the questions you have posed.

I believe that the dietary laws you are asking about should have answers from Celebrity. I would certainly contact them and inquire. When you booked this cruise did you ask your travel agent about these dietary laws, etc?

I am truly trying to assist you that is why I suggest you contact Celebrity directly. Suggest you check out this link from Celebrity; note the Kosher meals section and then contact them re any other questions you may have.

If the captain does not matter to you, why fret about it? Some captains are more personable and funnier than others. Just like some people are more personable and funnier than others. They all have excellent safety records or they would not be working for Celebrity. For me, it just enhances the cruise experience if the captain is out and about and engaging with the passengers.

I won't comment much on the entertainment. We brought our own.

 

The photo opportunities this evening were all over. The music was decent. I was dancing in the martini bar with the family.
