You have one potential issue to consider. If the cruise is cancelled for any reason, then the EZAir flights are also cancelled. If you still want to go to do the land tour, you would have to book new flights.

First of all, I haven't committed to booking EZAir flights.  As always, it will depend on pricing and scheduling.  However, we have in the past found EZAir international pricing to be very competitive so I will certainly be investigating once the flights become available.

Second, although anything can happen your scenario is so unlikely in my view that it will not be part of my decision making process.  However, I must admit I hadn't thought of this potential eventuality.

Finally, I would most likely still take the land tour.  It is very immersive and we are very much looking forward to it, perhaps even more than the cruise this time around.  We might even add additional touring before or after the currently booked tour in place of the cruise.

  2. Just to be clearer, I'm not asking about the number of days airlines allow you to book a flight prior to flying.  I'm fully aware of the 330 days rule.

I'm asking if the first flight has to be within a specific number of days of when your cruise sails when booking through EZAir.  In our case we will need to fly to Japan about 18 days before our cruise.  I'm guessing this won't be a problem, but I'll be able to definitively verify this in a few days.

First, thanks for your quick responses, and checking on your phone (frankly, I wouldn't have thought about that!)

Other cruise lines, specifically Royal and Celebrity (same owner) removed the "solo search" option a year or so ago.  Meaning that to compare cruise costs, a user would have to go into each individual cruise to select one cruiser.  That's tedious.  And, about the same time, the costs for solos started being more that 200% on a fairly regular basis.

On the glitch side, there was a period about a month or so ago when the "number of guests" option didn't change from two, even if you clicked on the pull-down menu.  So, hoping this is a glitch.

I'm not sure what you mean.  I have never seen any option to select the number of passengers until after you have selected a specific cruise.  You seem to be insinuating that in the past there has been an option to select the number of passengers at the same point where you are setting the other filters (e.g. destination, length, month, embarkation port, ship). Am I misunderstanding you?

On my recent cruise I only received canned sodas when ordered at the bar or from a bar waiter. I had the plus package. I never was served fountain although I can't say no one on the ship ever received a fountain drink.

This was our recent experience also.  Whenever we ordered a soda it was served in a can.  This was on the Sapphire in January/February.

No more Sterling Steak House or Crown Grill it was replaced with something they called the Brazilian all you can eat meat experience? I did speak with the Food and Beverage Officer The Maitre De and the Executive Chief each pretty much had the same thing to say in response to my questions. The menu choices in Asia change Not as many choices for the foodies onboard. That was very obvious to say the least. Our next two sailings are not with Princess we do have two open bookings on our books but nothing booked as of now. Feeling disappointed with our Princess Cruises as cruising is such a big part of our life.

I'm curious.  Looking at the Deck 14 plan Both Sterling Steakhouse and Churrascaria Grill (Brazilian) are listed.  It also seems to show the Churrascaria Grill in a rear corner on the starboard side of the ship.  Is it possible both options are being offered, perhaps on alternating nights?

We sailed to Antartica this year from Ushuaia, Argentina across the Drake Passage on a Viking Expedition ship and never lost internet capability. We were in very rough seas in the Drake but we could still connect. We could do wifi calling, emails, get on any website we needed to for work or otherwise for the entire time we were in Antartica, over a week. Viking uses Starlink on these ships and it works great! I agree, if Princess is going to make the claim they have the best Wifi at sea, its time to make a change. We have also sailed Princess two years ago to Alaska and the wifi was terrible.

Princess now uses Starlink and the wifi in Antarctica this season was very good.  This is a very old thread.  A lot has changed.

Can you expand on that please.

Are you saying there is no separate Reserve Class area for embarkation day lunch ?

There is definitely Reserve Class dining for embarkation day lunch.  I believe memoak is saying the dining room used for Reserve Class passengers won't be the same one used for embarkation lunch for everyone else.  I can't confirm that but I believe that is what is being stated.

This is our first time booking the Reserve Class mini suites. What time would be we be able to get on the ship?

I don't know the exact order but Reserve Collection Mini Suite passengers receive priority boarding regardless of their loyalty status.  I'd say probably with suites and elites.  We always book Reserve Collection but are elite so it wasn't ever an issue.

  9. Also suggest the Sapphire. We recently returned from a 16 night SA/Antarctica cruise with lots of scenic cruising.  Besides for all the reasons already mentioned, there is lots go great outdoor viewing.  The Caribbean isn't a bad option either, but having sailed both I think there are more options on the Sapphire.  Above the bridge is especially "user friendly" compared to other ships.  It is very easily accessible from deck 15.  There's no need to search for the "secret door" like on some of the other ships.  Also, the aft viewing is nicely tiered and provides many great sight lines.

  10. My take on bidding for an upgrade.

We have done it 3 times and it was accepted twice.  However, we bid on a category upgrade, Reserve Collection Mini Suite to a Full Suite.  We also bid with the assumption that we would be happy with the upgrade regardless of location.  Also, I would not expect the bid to be accepted with a low ball amount unless the cruise is not selling well.

If location is very important to you, bidding on an upgrade might not be your best option, especially assuming the OP is bidding on an upgrade within the balcony category.  The cost may not be offset by the benefit.

    Enjoy your cruise. 🙂

You don’t say who booked this.  If you booked with a CVP or TA, you should call them to change it.  If you booked directly, then Princess has to change it.  You cannot change it yourself online.

It must match your passport, just as your flights must match your government issued ID.

I would try calling again and pick the option Ocean Ready and insist speaking to a supervisor.  You may get a competent agent.
Or, you could try email for customer relations. Explain to them everything you’ve done so far.

Call when they first open on a weekday, 0600 Pacific time. Not on the weekend.

    Let us know.

The IT email if you want to try it:

    askoceanmedallion@carnival.com

The passenger name when logged in on the Princess website does not always exactly match the name on the passport.  My husband's website name is first and last name.  His passport includes his middle name.  However when we book EzAir his passport name is always reflected on the reservation information.

This doesn't resolve the OP's issue but I figured I'd point this out. 😉

Caribbean Princess!  Crooners is right outside of the Casino and I love the people mover up to the nightclub!

Half agree and half disagree. 😉

We really love Crooners.  Crooners on the Emerald has a much better and roomier design as compared to the Caribbean. Proximity to the casino isn't important to us.

However, totally agree concerning Skywalkers (nightclub).  We also like the people mover and the placement of the club, being more aft, provides a better aft view.

Thanks Michael. Hoping they work out all the kinks before we sail in a couple of months. Happy Birthday. 🎂

Hi Jan, thanks for the birthday wishes.  Definitely a rocky rollout.  However the updated version has addressed the logout issue.  Still can't see multiple bookings without logging off and logging back in with each individual booking number.  Can't say much about their development and testing department. These are pretty basic screw ups.  Anyway, Happy New Year to you and Paul.  We leave for Santiago on the 17th.  Can't wait.

  14. First, login in using the Booking Number seems to solve the constant "getting booted out" problem.  However this is not very convenient (as opposed to Princess user name and password).

Second, the only way I can see to see all of your bookings is to log out and log in individually.  Also not very convenient (and now I have to reference multiple booking numbers to stay logged in 😉).

We (50) started out on a Princess tour to Cape Breton Island from the port in Sydney NS on a tour bus.  The bus broke down about 15 miles from the port and we were stranded on the side of the road for 3+ hours when a new bus came to pick us up and return us to the ship.  They had to use a bus that was supposed to take a tour that afternoon which was canceled at the last minute.  When we returned to the ship they canceled the tour and gave us each $100 OBC along with apologies from a ship officer. Princess had chartered all the busses in the area.  The tour operator was profusely apologizing but no more busses to be had.  I had often wondered about pax left behind on ship tours and what happened.  It made me realize the benefit of using a ship tour versus a private one.  Interesting story.

We were supposed to be on that tour.  Oh well, "stuff" happens 😉

I will admit I'm confused by this. When I go onto the Princess website and access my booking (Caribbean Princess, January 2024) under the dining tab, it tells me all reservations have moved to the Medallion App. There is no way to access dining in this area.

Is there another place I should be looking?

For the record, I made my reservations for both MDR and specialty through the app. I'm more curious for future reference if I should happen to encounter issues like the OP.

See the link under the Google Play symbol?  This is the summary page for your reservation.  They don't make it very easy to find, especially for older eyes. 😉

On Emerald now. Club Fusion on 18 is usually quiet during the day if there r no functions planned for there. But it is usually cold. That’s where the PES 2 hour reception is held every night.

I believe you mean Skywalkers on Deck 18.  Club Fusion is on Deck 7 aft.  I agree, we often use Skywalkers for reading and relaxing.
