I just read on Facebook that the 3/29 cruise has port changes and won’t be going to Morocco ports now.

Yes, we received a letter in our cabin today.  It will be interesting to see how some on our roll call react.  This was not due to any change by the Moroccan government, the county has been closed for a while.

    Hi Kirk,

Thanks for mentioning this for future cruisers.  John and I missed the M&M completely because we never looked at the daily program after finally boarding after a two hour wait - but that's another story.

On previous cruises, the M&M was NEVER held during sail-away. There was always an invitation sent to our cabin. Not this time.  The only reason we met you and Barbara was because I noticed your Okracoke tee shirt.

You might want to mention this to Hotel Manager Richard or Cruise Director Amanda.

So glad we got to meet you both.  Happy Trivia.  Enjoy the rest of your cruises in good health.

    Toni

    Thanks Toni,

we enjoyed meeting you as well.  I will mention how the current process creates confusion.  See you on another voyage!

Where? I registered but no notice. Isn’t 5pm sail away time?

So far they are in the Drawing room  but your daily program tells you.  We have not received any notice.  On the first one, we just happened to see it in the planner.

  5. Something else to be aware of.  We are on the Quest for a B2B2B cruise and on the first two legs, the Cruise Critic M&G has been on embarkation day.  It was at 6:00 pm the first time and 5:00 pm today.  Many aren’t looking for it so early.

Any idea of how many for the 4/5 sailing?  We will be on board.

No, we get off on the 5th so I did not ask.  I will try and find out but I might get a better estimate closer to the date.

And you can make reservations as soon as you are onboard. There will be a table outside of the Windows Cafe.

We were able to book in the waiting area in Miami prior to embarkation.

  8. Are you asking about medical or trip insurance?  We use an annual medical policy from GeoBlue for trips up to 70 days.  It provides $1,000,000 in coverage.  For trips over 70 days we buy a trip specific policy.  For trip insurance we just use the coverage from our credit card.

  9. In our Chef Table last week, the food and wine were both very good.  I am not a wine  aficionado but it was good and free flowing.  Our meal took over 2.5 hours so no rush.

    Agree somewhat.
My impression is that many lines (non luxe) have lowered their prices to attract additional passengers. It would be counterproductive to then apply a fuel charge, which would surely anger/ alienate current and potential customers.

My thinking as well.  Many ships are sailing with less then 1/2 capacity.  Even if they can, I am not expecting them to do it until demand has solidified.

At Schiphol airport in Amsterdam, if you are connecting from a flight within the EU to a flight to the USA, after disembarking the EU flight you have to go through security and passport control to get to your flight to the USA.  Most likely the EU flight and flight to the USA will be in different terminals.  If memory serves me correctly, there is a fast track lane you can use if you have a tight connection, if your flight is listed on the monitor.  However, a 55 minute connection time even if everything goes smoothly would not make for a stress free connection.

Yes and we have had huge lines at the security/passport control in AMS.  I would do everything I could to get some more time.

Started, I think, at 7.  On February 22 cruise Tables were held in Aqualina with 2-tops, 4-tops, and a 5-top.

Same for us currently on the Quest.  They have dropped the mask mandate so maybe the large table in Prine C will be available soon.  We didn’t like the seating in Aqualina, understand why but would prefer the single table.

To the OP, I believe the big table holds twelve.  For our seating in Aqualina I believe there were well over twenty.

My (very good) agent managed to get some information from Azamara. There was an issue with my email address in the booking hence I did not get any updates or the survey. The final payment has indeed been pushed back and they expect next week to have more information about port changes. Once we know what the new itinerary will look like we can then make an informed decision.

    Good news!

We did the same thing, we switched from the same line you used to go on (I recognize your screen name from that board) over to Azamara.  It only took us one cruise to know that we were switched out for life now, you will LOVE Azamara!

We were used to unlimited bags of laundry too from the other line, but I didn't find it too bad just having one bag per week (we were on board for 3 full weeks), we made do.  :-))

    Thanks, good feedback!

Maybe you should post your reports on the Anyone On Board sticky? People are more likely to look there.

Just did it here because DS asked.

KIRKNC.... I believe you are on the subsequent TA to Lisbon.    We'd appreaciate your comments on the conditions onboard on your current cruise, as we will join you for the next few cruises.   Thanks...DS from Fort Myers Fl.

All is well onboard the Quest.  We were surprised that onboard, masks are optional for guests.  Most guests are going without.  Ship seems fairly empty.  We have been told different passenger counts with a low of 250 and a high of 350.  Food and crew have been great.  Our first exposure to a R class ship shower 🚿, tiny tiny tiny.  I can try and answer any specific questions.

We had plenty of complimentary bags so didn’t need to purchase so I don’t really know.  I just remember seeing packages offered, maybe for three bags and daily bags…

Interesting, how does one get complimentary bags?  Is that a TA perk or a loyalty club benefit?

You can stuff a lot of clothes in that one bag.

Yea we have used bags many times on other lines.  We are converting our cruise business from a line where we had free unlimited laundry so just trying to get the lay of the land.
