Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I'll definitely try first thing tomorrow morning.
  2. No, it is because it took 3 phone calls with SW before they told me I couldn't check in online and print boarding passes. First two agents told me I could. Would have been a non issue if I had been told that weeks ago. It's primarily all about the customer service.
  3. It did because of the BOGO airfare was return flight from Rome. I'm retired so not much invested except my time and frustration. It was a good learning lesson for NCL Air and SW. Won't do it again. Over 30 cruises and had to fly each time without a hiccup. We've been lucky.
  4. Following up my original concern with SW Airlines online capability. After working on this for a couple of weeks I finally received the answer from SW yesterday. Because NCL booked the second segment of travel with a different airline than SW, I am unable to check in online and am not able to print boarding passes online. I will need to call them when the check in window opens to check in and get my boarding passes. Not ideal, but at least I have a workable answer. Because of all the hoops I have had to deal with this process, I tend to agree that NCL's free air is a mess. But also, I will not willingly book with SW in the future. Thanks to all who replied here.
  5. It was an actual WN locator number and not a Norwegian cruise number. NCL sent me another Air Flight Confirmation and it lists the round trip flights with Southwest and Delta under a PNR Record Locator number which is also used as the WN confirmation number. The Delta portion has a different confirmation number. Anyway, I also called Southwest and after some research they were able to retrieve my flight information with them so I can now view it online. I was happy with that until after I hung up and discovered I still get an error message when trying to access it so not sure I will be able to check in online. I don't have the energy to make another long phone call today. Thanks for all your responses.
  6. Thanks for your replies. I did just call NCL Air Department and they were able to verify that I am unable to access my flight information online, nor can I check in online or print boarding passes. We will need to do all of this at the airport prior to departure. Per Southwest policies it is because we have our return flights scheduled with another airline that they are unable to provide us with a confirmation number to access online. Strange but I guess it is what it is and we have to trust NCL that they booked our flights properly. We are able to see our return flights with Delta online so that half is good.
  7. We've never booked airline reservations through NCL before and have not flown Southwest previously. I am not able to view our upcoming April 6th reservation on Southwest's website using the locator number NCL has provided. Is there a way to confirm this reservation through Southwest?
  8. My husband started on Ozempic last August two weeks before we went on a 19 day cruise on Princess. He is a diabetic. We were concerned about the cabin coolers also and keeping the Ozempic cool on a 3 hour flight, but our doctor and pharmacist said it did not have to be in a refrigerator. Apparently recommended but not crucial? Anyway, we kept it in the cabin cooler and kept it near our filled ice bucket. Seemed to have been okay as the Ozempic continues to lower his blood sugar to really great levels now. Hope this answers your question.
  9. We received our flight information today for our return flight from Rome to Minneapolis and NCL booked us with Delta. It must not have been the lowest fare category as we were able to select our seats right away. It also appears that one checked bag per person is free for the international flight. For our flight to Orlando before departure we were booked with Southwest Airlines. This will be a new experience for us as we have never flown Southwest before. But it seems as if there is no checked bag fees with them, and you do not select seat assignments as they have general boarding. Our BOGO fare was great so we will just go with the flow.
  10. We are wondering how the Princess hotel and transfer options work for 2 days post cruise, specifically in London. Does Princess provide transportation from the ship to the hotel and then 2 days later from the hotel to the airport? Is this a fairly good value or would we be better off booking our own hotel and transportation? We are in are 70's and have been to London several times, but are tired of moving luggage around. Any input appreciated. Thanks!
  11. Just to clarify, as I always saw the Princess Vacation Protection Plan amounts when booking online before I made payment, also. We can make our deposit and then go back later and add the Princess Vacation Protection Plan later?
  12. Are you able to use these for EZ Air? I tried last month and didn't see the ability to do so.
  13. We were accidentally on a "polka cruise" a couple of years ago on the Sky Princess. It was not a polka themed cruise sponsored by Princess. It was a polka group (Mollie B) that was comprised of a lot of people/members. No, they did not take over the Princess Theatre but they did close off the Vista Lounge every night for their event. This did impact our entertainment as it eliminated that venue for the rest of us and any subsequent entertainment. If I recall correctly they also closed one of the bars for their group each evening. Even if you wanted to enjoy polka music, you were not able to participate unless you were in their club. As a result, we didn't hear any polka music at all. I guess if you know what to expect, go with an open mind. Having experienced this once, I wouldn't want to do it again.
  14. I started to read through this thread but I don't know if this question was answered: Can a husband and a wife each purchase five $500 AARP gift cards per month and apply as payment for a cruise? We are looking at booking a cruise this week and final payment is due immediately as the cruise leaves August 21st. We each are AARP members.
