  1. Ooooooo NOT my favorite. I've tried a couple and they are all pretty ugly tasting. I haven't met anyone who has liked it, so I'm surprised it's still out there on the market. I guess someone likes it, huh?

But to answer your question, it's wine, you can carry it on as long as it's 750 ml or under.

DW really likes Chocovine. The wine store we frequent sells a lot, especially around winter holidays. Not a big seller in hot weather, must be served cold.

  2. The bathroom will be much larger, and there will be a bathtub/shower in it rather than just a shower. It's a whirlpool bathtub, too. If I recall correctly, there's a glass door to the bathtub/shower... rather than a shower curtain.

There will also be a dressing area that regular cabins don't have. It's been a while since I was in a suite, but I think I recall that there were double sinks rather than just a single sink.

Your balcony will be larger than a standard balcony, too.

All of this is correct, plus you will get priority embarkation. This is all that CCL offers for booking a suite.

  3. We are at the Jacksonville Hotel and Suites. They told us the shuttle won't start running until 11:30. The parking lot is full...we probably wont even get on the first shuttle. Should we just pay the $25 for a cab to take us to the port in the morning? What is the earliest we can be there? InMay we were on the Freedom at 11:05 .... Since I am platinum I want to take advantage of it.

Of course $25 could be used for something else.

    Thanks!

As you are getting on board today, what did you decide?

  4. They're only strangers for 5 minutes. They are usually life long friends by the end of the cruise.

DW and I agree with this. We like meeting people, and have only moved from our assigned area 1 time in all our cruises. Nothing against the couple we were assigned with (4 person booth)but they did not speak English, and we did not speak Japanese. Seemed like a nice couple, but unable to communicate with each other, so we moved.

  5. so was there ever an "announcement" ?? I have looked at JH FB page but couldn't find anything, thanks.

When they say an announcement is coming it is usually months begore it ever gets announced.

And when it does it never lives up to the hype.

    Bill

No announcement yet. When and if it does happen, we probably won't even notice it.

  6. I LOVE them~~

The atmosphere and décor is different from any other cruise you'll ever take. They cost a little more but worth it for the time you'll have. New Years eve the staff are out as well. They provide party favors, hats & horns ect. There is a balloon drop in the atrium with big band music usually and on Lido is the big party with current music.

I'm so looking forward to it! Miracle here we come!:D

Every NYE cruise I've looked at is at least double (some even more) the cost. Simple supply and demand. CCL and all lines charge what they feel the market will bear.

  7. Well said!! I have been Platinum since the Loyalty program was introduced, and I never had immediate cabin access and luggage delivery until FTTF, did you? :)

No I didn't, as I never heard or read that it was available for Platinum. We haven't cruised as long as many on these boards. DW and I took our 1st CCL cruise in 1995, although our 1st cruise was in 1992. We will accept any perk offered that we like, but sail for the cruise, not the perks, although they are nice.

  8. Hi all, I am new to Carnival, just booked an 8 days bahama cruise in March. What does FTTF mean??

Welcome to Carnival. FTTF stands for Faster To The Fun. For $50, you can purchase under excursions, if available (limited number offered). Allows priority embark/debark, cabin access as soon as you board, priority tender times, access to VIP line at guest services.

  9. ]I would have loved to have seen Legends once.[/color].but glad they are working on both some Live and assisted by audience new entertainment again...maybe they are Listening!!! One thing about not cruising as much as i'd like yet..hard to get boared and my info keeps building..even eras I missed ...LOL..I love it here..keep dreams alive and get to go in spirit with you all!!

Once is all you need, after that not entertaining.

Hope you get to cruise soon.:D

  10. We have stopped going to the Legends show as it is rather boring seeing the same ones over and over.

Would rather they have professional entertainer and hope they go that route.

Hope they even update their welcome aboard show as it has brought new meaning to the word STALE.

Stale and boring can be said about most of the shows, not just the Welcome Aboard Show.:(

  11. In August on the Freedom, Weddings went first, then priority & FTF. Then handicapped followed. Maybe it's changed since then?

FTF ticks me off as well~ I paid thousands for what they get now for $50.

As for handicapped embarkation.. There are a lot of people using it that don't need it. They have learned the ropes to getting on early. That may have caused the change as well. The only reason IMO handicapped should get any kind of priority is if they are in a wheelchair and after the other above mentioned categories. And that would be because wheelchairs do hold up the process for boarding. Not meaning anything negative at all by that, certainly people need them, my father uses one. If they are well enough to cruise they are well enough to wait their turn.

You did not pay (thousands) to get the perks that people pay $50 for (FTTF). You paid to cruise, just like me and DW, the perks are a nice reward for our cruising on CCL repeatedly.

  12. So I have had non stop anxiety about the upcoming cruise for no apparent reason at all. For some reason, I keep worrying that DH and I won't have enough room in our interior to have fun together and spend time together have kids are sleeping. I'm worried that either they won't sleep or we won't play. That would not be good at all... But we can't afford an upgrade to a balcony right now. It's such a little thing to worry about, but I think it's just nerves since this will be our first vacation with DD and DS (4 and 3).

With a 4 and 3 year old in the room, I agree with poster above that play time may be at a minimum.

  13. Yes, this worked perfectly years ago....UNTIL ....as usual...people posted it over and over on this board....Carnival got wise to it.....and will definitely lock your card if you do it more than once...

It is easy to get the account unlocked. CCL will allow you to draw up to $300 per sitting, for 2 days, then lock the card. Go to the cage and they will remove the lock, if needed.

  14. Huh? Did you even read this thread. It's right here, this is the 3rd time(at least) this sign has been posted. Where ya been?

Been in the woods I guess. Early room access had never been advertised by CCL prior to FTTF. No big deal, DW and I just waited until 1:00-1:30 pm when announced that rooms were ready. We never went to room to see if we could access, corridors always seemed to be closed, so never saw your sign. Of course we have only been cruising since 1992, so haven't been around as long as most of the posters.

  15. I am going to stop here for the day- I realized that Catmando had not loaded all my LSC pictures and I want them to put in the review.

I will go over what people have posted and try to get the answers for you.

Just to let you know, so that you will keep these people in your prayers-Saturday night, Catmando's car was stolen, an old jeep, but it was his service vehicle. And our dearest freind Sallie, came by during lunch to tell me she just lost her neice. So while I am writing about all the joy that we had a week ago, sorrows are taking back over. Life is short, make good memories.

While truly enjoying your review, so sorry to hear about the vehicle and niece. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  16. Glad to hear that there are cruise lines that meet your needs and expectations. I value my time "away" and it is important that we all get what we need. I am blessed to have actually never had a vacation that I could complain about and that is really a wonderful thing. I apologize for taking this "thread" into negativity. It was never my intention. Please enjoy your vacation time on whichever line you chose (even if it is Carnival). I know all too well... life is too short for controversy!

For any other new cruisers, just my opinion, but for the money... there really isn't a better valued vacation.

Naz, that really is all that matters, your opinion. :D

  17. I've learned the Future Cruise Desk employees are more concerned with getting credit card applications processed than they are with booking cruises. I think your experience proves my point.

Evidently they must receive a $$ reward for the credit card applications.
