  1. If you like a wee dram in your cabin before dinner (and who doesn't ?) - just ask them to fill the ice bucket on day one and they'll keep it replenished for the cruise.

In the morning the ice has melted and you have a source of cool water to ease the hangover from the previous night !!!

    You can't lose !!! :D

Like that one Must try it

  2. Hi

We are looking at booking on the Majesty for September 2014, never cruised on this ship before, so, do we book a 3/4 inside or an inside plus, if so what cabin numbers can anyone advise which are midship and quietish! Or do we go for a higher deck again, inside or inside plus, any cabin numbers would be grateful. My hubby not a great sailor so anything midship would be best. Thanks x

We returned a few weeks ago from our first time on the Majesty We were inside plus deck 3 and the cabin was ok .2 single beds (think the TV needs a new remote) lots of draw and wardrobe space (cabin3052) So glad we were not in a standard cabin they were vey small and vey little space for your clothes Hope this some help to you

  3. "He said Thomson want everyone to book online.:("

That's it in a nutshell, and why there is a £25.00 fee for TA "price matching" online offers.

I'd rather give my business to the local Thomsons shop - but I'm not paying a (de facto) service charge for the privilege.

You have to remember that not everybody is computer savvy - that's why shops still have customers.

When everyone books on line the TA's will close then them people will be out of work.Thomson will be making more profit (so they will cut their price HA Ha)I do not think so

  4. Went to book the Discovery today at the Trafford Centre shop and asked the lady there if they would match the web price . Yes but we charge £25 for doing that How does that match the price? I will not bother to do the cruise I told her. When I spoke to the Manager his attitude was take it or leave it May I say this would have been cruise number 10 with Thomson

  5. Mrs Red Scorpion and I recently returned from the Pride of Panama/Cuban Fusion cruises on the Dream. Great itinerary with Havana as the star of the show and the best showteam afloat. But I wanted to talk about something else.

At the end of the cruise the flight bringing new arrivals from Newcastle had to land at Gatwick to have a part of the aircraft replaced thus delaying the flight by 8 hours. The plane was then supposed to take those of us at the end of our holiday to Birmingham which meant we too were delayed by 8 hours.

The Captain called us into the showlounge where he and several of his senior officers explained what had happened. We had already checked out of our cabins so they issued us with new ones so that we could get a shower or lie down if we wanted to. We were able to stay on the ship until 11pm which meant we could stay in the bars or watch the show. Because the system automatically cut our cards off 7pm we were given four drinks vouchers allowing us to four free drinks (everything except Champagne) so that we could enjoy ourselves. We still had to wait for over 3 hours at the airport but the Dream crew did all that they could to minimise the inconvenience. Lastly when we left the ship Captain John shook our hands and said goodbye to each one of us personally. This is what makes Thomson so different.

I hope Thomson Towers are reading this because I want them to know what a great job the Captain and crew of the Thomson Dream did to minimise our inconvenience. Some people still whinged of course, but I have no complaints whatsoever.

i It's good to hear how well they looked after you. I have always said that the staff on the Dream are a credit to Thomson It's a pity them at the Ivorey tower cannot lean from them

  6. We did 2 weeks on the Dream Dec 30th and were not at all impressed (this was the 9th time on the Dream and always enjoyed it. No complaints about the staff ) So i wrote to customer service with my comments more or less right after we returned . On 13 Feb I got a phone call from them saying the they had noted my comments and would I accept a voucher for £80. She would rise it that day and it could take 28 days to arrive 28 days went by and no post so I phoned the number she had called on and after checking I was told yes it as been rised should be with me shortly Still waiting another week gone I wonder what would happen when my payment was due and I said yes cheque written should be with you shortly

  7. Where to start Yes Thomson do need to pull their finger out . First I think they need to have people at the top that care about their regular customers As for the ships yes they are getting on but are kept spotlessly clean Their staff on ship are a credit to them. So they are looking to RCL .Does that mean very large ships . That would turn me off to start with. Grats will that mean they will not be included I believe in tipping those that look after me and not the waiter that is the other side of the bar. Prices on the ship I was talking to people a while back that were on RCL and they told me the cheapest bootle of wine in the dinning room was 32.5 $ + service ( do not know how true that is)

I do think it will cost us a lot more to cruise
