The recent reviews are very concerning. The thing that concerns me the most is that if you are AI you have to pay for the coffee in the new lounge on Celebration! This really is one charge too far for me. I did bring up the issue of added charges during the Ellacott Q+A, but he didn't really address my concerns. I can fully understand extra charges for things such as speciality restaurants and the like, but coffee - this costs around 2 pence to make.
The latest in a long line of 'extras', which started with safes and ended up with paying to reserve seats in the theatre. Time for a change.
With regard to the Q+A I think he just answered the ones that suited him
As for the extras on the AI we do not think it is worth the full price they charge. A lot of the the drinks that were included now have surcharge. We like a drink but not in excess Mostly coffee or soft drinks daytime the we like a few alcohol drinks at night. After our last cruise my wife went through the bill ( sad I know) but she said if we had paid full price for the AI we would have been about £100 out of pocket

"I am sure Thomson will want to retain loyal customers and perhaps some of their loyalty reward to past customers is trying to recognise their requests and ideas put forward which to those people would be worth more than a free photograph or £25 on board spend or whatever."
I do not think so I recently contacted care @thomson and got no satisfaction ,so I e-mailed the MD of cruises via care .I got a reply from them saying that it had been passed to his team but not reply from them also wrote to him and guess what no reply. Does that sound like a company that wants to keep loyal customers

May be she will be more interested in looking after loyal customers

How true Dave
I asked two and never got an answer to either of them :mad:
Mind you the ones that were answered were very ambiguous
He should stand for Parliament :D
Like it Linda :)

Glad you got your questions answered. I asked a question no answer, so I e-mailed for his attention then a letter for his attention . Guess what no answer to any of them . Thomson cares should read Thomsom does not care. As I have said before they should take a page to of the crew book

Well, I think it was a complete waste of time! At least you got your questions answered Sailaway. I put two on and neither were answered. One was about entertainment and had 4 other queries attached to it. I don't think he actually answered any of the questions.
I think it sums up Thomsons admin team "don't care" attitude.
On Thomson flights, they say "Thank you for flying with Thomson, we appreciate that you have a choice" Yes we have!
Well I agree with you Linda It looks like he just answered the on's he wanted to. I put a question on about why the AI for Caribbean in Jan 2015 showed £280 on webbsite on 1st day of sale but when you got to the end of the booking they added £516 on the basic cruise price I have e-mailed him about it and also written to him but so far got no answer. Yes we are seriously thinking of going P&O

If there unanswered questions from the last time does that mean he only answers the ones that he wants to
-
It only went up if you tried to book the drinks package with it which they were showing at £280 instead od £796 Which a difference of £516

hi
One travel agent told me increase will be to £199 /person and another said £398/person from midnight tonight. They said they would be honouring the £280 AI price until midnight tonight, can you find a Thomsons number and book over the phone ?
The price this morning is now £796 for the drinks package Sadly now I think we my try another cruise line

I was trying to book online this afternoon 14 nts on the Dream Can someone explain why I have just tried to book on the dream 6 jan 15 and they show a price for the 14nts at £3126 with baggage up grade for 2 people BUT if I upgrade to the drinks package showing at £280 for the party the cost jumps to £3922 When I went to school £3126 + £280 =£3406
-
Thats why we normally book at a Thomson shop
-
Our thoughts are with everyone both in the Phillipines and all crew on all cruise ships. We have been on the Dream 6 times and have made many friends on there We just hope none off them get any bad news

Had a call from TA this morning telling us that we have been given a FREE upgrade to a balcony suite on the Braemar next February :):)
Been on seven Thomson cruises and never been given anything :(:( (except free AI on Dream in 2010 and £250 refund as the cruise was so bad)
Free AI on Braemar too as we booked early :):)
Very good Linda Pity Thomson do not look after their loyal customers. We have been on the Dream 6 times since 2010. The last being in sept when we were celebrating 25 yrs married. When we booked 1yr before the lady in our Thomson TA put it on our booking form . Not even a drink on thomson Then when you fill in the comment form they ask if you have been a previous customer and were you recognised ( only by the crew) We have had the free AI but that only for booking at the right time
-
Seems the same as the drinks menu on the Dream
-
I just think Thomson are just trying to get every pound they can out of us.They do not seem to care about loyal customers
-
We have been on the Dream 4 times now and always had AI and always thought it good value ,but now looking at the prices for all the drinks that are now premium drinks and there are a lot more I would not now upgrade. I think Thomson's are just now trying to screw us
