  1. Thanks! I'd like to see a little more of Greece though. =( Otherwise, that looks like a good one too! But hmmm... possible to add on a little more in Greece on our own?! Just not sure! My problem is I want to do it all. LOL!
  2. I recently started our research and posted this. I received a few helpful tips and other threads shared. The review that was shared was great to read!! She wrote really well, nice information and good tips.
  3. Question for you, since you did the Barcelona to Venice, was that just one leg of the larger cruise? I'm starting to realize that if we do the 22 day one, that it's part of I think a larger 28 day one, I'm guessing starting in Istanbul. Just want to make sure we're I know what we're getting in to with this one. We're just used to basic Caribbean ones, you get on in one place and you return to that place, nothing changes with passengers. LOL!
  4. Like others said, priority will be off first, and then if I'm not mistaken, it will be all the Carnival excursions next. But I could be wrong, maybe they start allowing any others as well. We were there last April and we were all in theater to be called for our tenders. We were one of the first ones off for our excursion, which we loved!!
  5. Well, I have to say, we were there in November, and plenty of stupid people were there. Nothing horrible, but just some obnoxious behavior. And yeah, we did the zip line once, that was enough. I just wanted to lounge, so I didn't feel like climbing back up there. LOL! This is a video of the 2 husbands. It's a really short zip line too. So it takes like 15 seconds! 20221110_095100.mp4
  6. Yep! Amber Cove then. We were there with another couple, so we opted to rent one of the cabanas. They have that area roped off then, with a wristband to use the loungers and such, but everything else is open. They have a zip line that was included in our fee as well. I can't tell you what it costs otherwise. I believe they do offer other things for a cost as well. These are the cabanas, had snacks and water, misters, 4 lounge chairs reserved, and floatie things for the pool. The pool with the swim up bar. Some of the open lounge chairs across from the cabanas.
  7. Yep! That's part of the reason we're leaning towards it. Well, let's be honest, I'm all in on it! LOL! Hubby is just wanting to make sure. 😉 We just want to make sure we're good financially. He just retired and we have a freshman in college, so it's just a lot of money. And he wants to make sure he'll enjoy that long of a cruise. The longest we've done is 12 days, and that was our first one. Most of others have been 7-8 days.
  8. Thank you. Yes, we're now considering the Athens to Barcelona. I may have said it before, we were originally looking at a 10 day one that was mostly the Greek Islands. But then I saw I think a 15 day one. And THEN, hubby mentioned Barcelona and Monte Carlo, so I saw the 22 day one! LOL! Might as well go big for a our first Viking cruise. 😃
  9. Thanks! I'm sure theirs is paid in full though. But we'll see what they say. I wonder if they can use it for other things they'll purchase on board. I'll get their booking number before we book, just so we have it.
  10. Oh for sure! I just meant when it comes to booking our cruise. Making sure we just get all our ducks in a row to start the process. I'm definitely learning more from here. If we had a good TA, I'd even work with them on this trip. It's going to be the most expensive one we've ever done. Once we're booked, I do plan on posting more to make sure we're on track. And the good thing is my parents have also traveled Viking, so I can bounce things off them. Also, is it true that they can get some sort of credit for their upcoming cruise if we mention them when we book?
  11. I'm glad I read this post as well. We're brand new to Viking, haven't booked it yet, still deciding, but this helps. Knowing that if we do the shorter cruise, it may have changes, is good to know. I had no idea that it was "legs" of a larger cruise, leading to these changes. We've mostly done the Caribbean, which is a standard cruise, no changes like this. I want to make sure we make our decision on which cruise with the best info. And all of this is pushing me more towards doing the 22 day one then. I'm thinking it would start in Istanbul, but then we'd get on in Athens, so we'd be on for most of it. Still trying to research it all though, then we'll call Viking to talk more.
  12. Glad I read this as I'm still learning how Viking does their thing. We're deciding between a few Med cruises, and hopefully going to take the plunge and do the 22 day Athens to Barcelona one. But this is good to know. From what I'm reading, it's possible people do this 22 day cruise in separate parts, is that correct? So we may have the same kind of thing happen.
  13. Same here! We did a Carnival excursion in Belize and loved it! I would ask on the Belize board instead of here.
  14. This is discussed a few times on the Grand Turk board, and this may get moved there. But like everyone else, we didn't have to show it when we were there. But also, we did the health form several months before our cruise, like most passengers, so they already knew. Things have obviously changed now, and you don't have to fill out that pre-health form. I mentioned it before, in a different post, we did have an odd thing when we got back on our ship. They stopped both women in front of us and asked for proof of their vaccine. They both threw a hissy fit over it too. Wasn't necessary for them to act that way, but I agree it was odd to ask them for it when they were coming back ON the ship.
  15. Thanks! Someone already shared that on my initial gathering info post. 😃 Someone also shared a great review by someone who did a similar cruise as what we're looking at. She did great writing too, so it was really nice to read, entertaining and informative.
  16. Good to know! As I said, being new to Viking, and haven't even booked yet, we're still learning their ins & outs.
  17. I would bet it's only rented once/day. Meaning, nobody will be in it when you get there. That's just a guess, hopefully someone knows the actual answer.
  18. We always stayed there too, and switched it up this last time. We stayed at the Country Inn & Suites, which is still by Radisson. But we found it much nicer. Plus, we got the rate that did include breakfast and it was much better (and cheaper) than the other Radisson hotel. I will also say, when we were there in November we walked by the other Radisson, and there was major construction going on underground in front of it. But no idea what was going on.
  19. Nice! Glad it helped someone! And what's the 3.3% discount for?
  20. Yeah, we're really deciding between the 22 and 10 day ones, both leaving from Athens. So I think we'll be good there.
  21. Yeah, according to the post someone else had, the 2024 final payment would be due June 30, 2023. That would be OK, I'd rather have it paid off earlier than later.
  22. Thanks! I knew I was missing something in there. Still learning my way around their site.
  23. We're new to Viking, looking at a March/April 2024 Med cruise. Still undecided on the 10, 15, or 22 cruise, but it will be one with Greece included. I received the email today regarding the $25 deposit and it said UP TO Free airfare. I was just confused on what that means? Is it just discounted for some and free for others? And how do they determine it. Sorry if this seems like something I should know. LOL! I'm definitely excited to hopefully book our cruise this week though! Just need to decide which one. Thanks for any insight and advice.
  24. Haha! That made me laugh! I have one of those 19 year old teenage boys right now, so I can attest to that at times. Not always, but yeah, they can get dumber the more there are. I'm grateful that our son has shown the ability to make mostly good choices. And any "not so good ones" are usually just goofy things. So for the 4th year in a row, he'll have his group of friends over at our house for NYE this weekend too. He'd rather be home, be safe, and have his friends safe, than trying to be out and stupid. But we know plenty that don't make the best choices. Their brains are definitely not fully developed yet.
  25. Good plan! Like I said, we live super close to our airport, so we always have it as our backup too. We've done the Chicago - FL drive a few times, so we know we could do it, if we had to. But I also know it's not always possible for others to do that. Hope your flights go without a problem!
