We are booked for the transfer from LHR to Viking Mars in Greenwich on June 23rd. We will be arriving the day before and wonder from which Heathrow terminal the transfer leaves. For some reason I think it is Terminal 2, but can find no confirmation. Anyone know? Thanks!
Easiest way used to be was to take the ferry from the shore stop in Gamla Stan over to Djurgarden and walk. I haven’t been to Stockholm for a few years, so don’t know if this public transportation ferry is still running. Anyone else with more recent experience?
Sometimes tickets can only be booked 60 days or less ahead. I don’t know what the rules are for the difference between 60 or 90 days; usually it has been 90.
And from Gamla Stan there is, or at least used to be, a ferry over to Djurgarden where the ABBA museum and the Vasa ship are located. Haven’t been to Stockholm in a few years, so I can’t be sure it is still running.
Unfortunately only a one person roll call. We had planned on getting Opera tickets for the evening we are docked overnight….will have to reconsider. Walking from there to the ship in the daytime is okay; at night (even with midnight sun) is a bit “dicey” in places.
Yes, the Star is docked in the usual position, (very convenient, and the “usual” docking position), but the Jupiter is to the west, where the Mars is scheduled to be when we are onboard.
Just wondering if Viking is providing a shuttle bus from your location? We are listed to be moored there as well and it isn’t the most convenient location. Thanks for the information!
Sorry you seem “bummed out” about two days in Oslo. Don’t know it if like art museums, but two new ones will be open (Munch and National Gallery). Interested in WWII?- the Resistance Museum is an awesome experience. The architecture of the new Opera House is amazing and it is a great place for a cup of coffee outside and walking on the roof of the theatre. Dining in Oslo has improved greatly in the past years.
