  1. OK I need input from RC cruisers here. I always sail with the drink package and sample all the cocktails. On every other line, I would say alcohol content is low as I can drink all day and not feel drunk. After 3 on this ship, I was buzzed. I’m now on 5. Definitely drunk. Do they just add more alcohol? Or actually make the drinks as they should be made?
  2. So the pool bar has a smoking area right next to it. I don’t love that.
  3. 15? I feel like I’ve done that deck. I found mini bites but no buffet!
  4. Anyone wondering about The Abyss slide. DS reported: “ I guess I would do it again. It’s not that I was scared. It’s more that I wasn’t happy”… 🤣
  5. For those that are wondering…I still haven’t found the buffet. Or the dining rooms.
  6. So, tell me about this rising bar concept. It said next departure at 2:45, so we hopped in thinking we would be upstairs by 3 ready for our meet up. Except it’s 3pm and we haven’t gone anywhere. Ummm. Can we just leave? What’s the protocol?
  7. Cozumel Sunrise at Rising Tide bar. Except we aren’t rising. Let’s goooooo
  8. I obviously didn’t research well enough. I didn’t bring any body wash/shampoo etc. I’m not sure how this will work out…
  9. Exploring! Drink 3 - Goombay Smash and Johnny Rockets shake for DS (love that these are included with refreshment package). Registered at teen club. Checked out arcade. Rode the carousel. DS rode the Abyss. I need a few more drinks first…
  10. Sure - I know I can do this. But why bother asking what I want pre boarding And then ignoring it?
  11. Stateroom: 7/10 I’m still a little miffed that I didn’t get what I paid for, but trying to let that fly. We got a midship room, near elevator, on deck 11. That’s good. It’s a connecting room. Not so good. I completed the special request form ahead of time asking for twin beds and a sofa bed set up. I did not get that. The room itself is a decent size with storage, but what in the what is that shampoo/body wash combo?
  12. Walking again to head to room soon (hopefully). Folks are sitting on stairs waiting. I get it. Once I drop my bags, vacation mode is activated
  13. Forgot to mention that, as per cruise tradition, first stop was Starbucks to purchase the “Been Here” mug ( Starbies in Galveston had none 😭). On this ship it was $21usd. Probably should have waited until at sea to avoid tax but didn’t want to risk them being sold out!.
  14. Thank you! Do they make an announcement when rooms are ready, or can we just go down at 1pm?
  15. First impressions (I’m not going to lie, in some ways I’m hoping we think this cruise is just “ok” as if we fall in love and want to sail this line regularly, this is a lot more $$$ than we are used to). Embarkation/Boarding : 10/10 After almost 40 cruises among various lines, this was the first one where I kept moving and had zero lines and zero wait. The Ship: Too early to give it a mark, but it’s HUGE! The biggest ship we’ve sailed in NCL Bliss. I’m not sure of size comparison but this one seems a lot bigger. I don’t think we’ve even seen a third of it and had to take a break (well, I needed alcohol). Interestingly, the only area that has felt crowded so far is deck 5 where you board. It’s a beautiful lady for sure! The Cards: 0/10 I don’t like not having my cruise card. I can’t explain why, but psychologically I feel like my vacation can’t start until I get it! Soon… The Drinks: 10/10. We are in Galveston so limited drink menu. As per tradition, DS chooses my drinks. The Texas Iced Tea was off the charts strong. I kept watching him pour the alcohol and was thinking…you can stop now! The Caribbean Mule was delicious, though less potent! The Food: 10/10 As a buffet hater, I sought out alternative options. Park Cafe was on our radar and that beef sandwich. YUM. @YVRteacher you would love this place - salads and grab n go with lots of veggie options. I also checked out mini bites and most definitely plan on some guacamole later! The “meh” factor is not yet coming through. I may be doomed!
  16. Walking…checked out the teen area. DD found a bunch of teens she had been messaging with pre cruise so I fear I may not see her again until bedtime!
  17. Figured out the drink situation. I asked another passenger how she ordered a drink without a cruise card. She told me she had her card as she was in a suite but I could just give my name and room number! Drink 1 - Texas Iced Tea (that one was STRONG)! Drink 2 - Caribbean Myle - delicious! I’m doing my usual practice of tipping $1 cash for each drink but seem to be the only one and the bartenders both times seemed like they weren’t sure what it was for. Is this not a thing on RC?
