  1. I've never tried ordering more than two with the app, but 100% found that even after going over the 15, the app still allowed me to order using the package. That wasn't the case at the bar as the bartender could see the number reached - I don't think the app was smart enough to know that at 15 it is meant to cut you off. Worth a shot - maybe they closed the loophole now, but in September it worked!
  2. Should be - it shows a charge but the package negates the charge so you are left with $0 - unless you customise it in some way....
  3. What? That's included and not part of the 15 drink limit. Weird.
  4. @Saint Greg - just out of interest, if you try going through he process of ordering an alcoholic drink through the app for delivery does it try to charge you? I ask because on our last cruise, we went way over 15 drinks (don't judge) but never got charged for extras ordering through the app (may have been a fluke, but worth a look). You don't have to submit the order if it charges - with the package it should say $0 if the loophole hasn't been closed!
  5. Couple observations: I’m a LONG time elite level Princess cruiser and you’re getting some celebrity status for a first timer! Sparkling wine and strawberries are usually for higher cabin categories than balcony. Congrats. Towel animals have been a thing of the past for a while. Occasionally you may have Stewart who will do one. Most often not in my experience. Robe on day one can be hit or miss. Mine often shows up around day 3. Never had slippers unless in a suite. Enjoy the perks. My guess is the veteran status!
  6. One thing you will learn about Princess - consistently inconsistent. We eat at Crown Grill very cruise (last one was October on Royal Princess) and, other than the potato side, always get the rest brought out - mushroom, spinach, asparagus. Maybe because you are solo?
  7. Yup - except for the potato choice (mashed/Baked/fries)
  8. Every time I have eaten at Crown Grill they have brought all the sides without any need to ask for/order them.
  9. Im not aware of the 2 at a time thing on Princes...test it out?
  10. Do you have your medallion already? There is usually 2 line ups - one for those who have the medallion/green lane and then one for those that don't...
  11. It's an extra $20 per day - also includes photos (but I'm guessing you're not interested in those..lol), and the enormous gross desserts (sugar coma). For me, it was worth it for the unlimited casual dining - Alfredos is the bomb, Ocean Terrace sushi is awesome, the Vines new menu is really good. I went to casual dining for lunch rather than MDR each day...
  12. You could always use OBC to upgrade to premiere package on the ship, then you have specialty dining included (x2) as well as unlimited casual, and the more expensive drinks... Looking forward to seeing your take on Princess - they have always been my go-to line but not so much these days!
  13. I was starting to wonder what I would do all day at work without this to read! Glad you're back. Enjoy the last day on the ship...
  14. I sent an email and got a reply back next day to call them. I then sent it over chat and got an email next day asking for voyage # and access key info. They applied the survey loot the following day!
  15. I might have to get that when I'm at The Wake in December!
  16. Finally caught up and living through you...until I board Valiant on December 2nd!!! Woohooo!
  17. I did the survey, too, assuming I could use it on my sailing in December. I was disappointed to find I need to book another new sailing to use it. I probably will, but not ready to just yet!
  18. I'm trying to figure out if a flight at 11:30am out of FCO is doable? It would be to the US but with a stop in Canada.
  19. Agreed! I'm in Vancouver, Canada and on Virgin December 2nd. My flight over and hotel for 2 nights cost as much as the cruise... From where I live, I can walk to the ship if sailing from Vancouver or have a lovely, relaxing train journey if sailing from Seattle. I sail 3 or 4 times a year from West Coast!
  20. If you plan on booking and have a 3rd/4th person I highly recommend either calling Princess or asking a TA to check - as I mentioned earlier, many times I go on the Princess site to check pricing (I always have a 3rd person) and there is no "free" 3rd person rate. However, as a TA, I can go into Polar and pull up the promo and it applies. The site is designed to give the best price on guest 1 and 2. It doesn't factor in the 3rd/4th free promo if the guest 1 and 2 rate is lower than the it is on the promo. As an example, I was looking at a 7 day on Discovery. The drop and go rate was $725CAD per person for one and two while the exciting deals (or whatever it's called with the 3/4 free) was $801 per person. So the site gave me the drop and go by default. The problem is, the 3rd guest under this deal was $436 but under the other deal was free. To see what the site is giving you, go through to the pricing screen and click on "applied promos" - if that says drop and go or resident rate then the 3/4 free doesn't apply, but it doesn't mean that rate isn't available! Sorry, I don't think I'm explaining it very well!
  21. I hope you have better weather than we just had on Royal - I can't even imagine using The Sanctuary with the winds and waves we got. As someone that sails in and out of Vancouver frequently (and also worked many years at the port) I can tell you that the chaos/lines/frustration is 100% normal but is completely out of control of the cruiseline until you are through immigration. None of the port staff work for the cruiseline (when I worked there originally, I was employed by Princess but now it is all contracted out) and the US CBP officers dictate when they open to passenger and how many officers will be on duty. As someone else mentioned, Canada Place was NOT designed to handle the size or number of ships it currently has on a regular basis. Our second port closed to passengers a few years back and Canada Place really struggles is more than two ships are in! Enjoy your cruise!
  22. The Princess site auto books you to what is the "best" deal based on two guests. Right now, it assigns the promo for drop and go or resident pricing as the "best" deal as the price for guests 1 and 2 is lower. However, the "Deals you'll love" promo (code N7S) actually works out as a better price for anyone looking for 3 or 4 guests as 3rd and 4th sail free. You would need to call to book and request N7S promo (or N7P if you want the plus package) - the price for pax 1 and 2 is higher, but 3 and 4 would only pay taxes/fees.
  23. Not a hijack at all - I hoped others would chime in from the ship. I love seeing/hearing what other people's take is compared to mine...
