If you plan on booking and have a 3rd/4th person I highly recommend either calling Princess or asking a TA to check - as I mentioned earlier, many times I go on the Princess site to check pricing (I always have a 3rd person) and there is no "free" 3rd person rate. However, as a TA, I can go into Polar and pull up the promo and it applies. The site is designed to give the best price on guest 1 and 2. It doesn't factor in the 3rd/4th free promo if the guest 1 and 2 rate is lower than the it is on the promo. As an example, I was looking at a 7 day on Discovery. The drop and go rate was $725CAD per person for one and two while the exciting deals (or whatever it's called with the 3/4 free) was $801 per person. So the site gave me the drop and go by default. The problem is, the 3rd guest under this deal was $436 but under the other deal was free. To see what the site is giving you, go through to the pricing screen and click on "applied promos" - if that says drop and go or resident rate then the 3/4 free doesn't apply, but it doesn't mean that rate isn't available! Sorry, I don't think I'm explaining it very well!

I hope you have better weather than we just had on Royal - I can't even imagine using The Sanctuary with the winds and waves we got. As someone that sails in and out of Vancouver frequently (and also worked many years at the port) I can tell you that the chaos/lines/frustration is 100% normal but is completely out of control of the cruiseline until you are through immigration. None of the port staff work for the cruiseline (when I worked there originally, I was employed by Princess but now it is all contracted out) and the US CBP officers dictate when they open to passenger and how many officers will be on duty. As someone else mentioned, Canada Place was NOT designed to handle the size or number of ships it currently has on a regular basis. Our second port closed to passengers a few years back and Canada Place really struggles is more than two ships are in! Enjoy your cruise!

The Princess site auto books you to what is the "best" deal based on two guests. Right now, it assigns the promo for drop and go or resident pricing as the "best" deal as the price for guests 1 and 2 is lower. However, the "Deals you'll love" promo (code N7S) actually works out as a better price for anyone looking for 3 or 4 guests as 3rd and 4th sail free. You would need to call to book and request N7S promo (or N7P if you want the plus package) - the price for pax 1 and 2 is higher, but 3 and 4 would only pay taxes/fees.

Not a hijack at all - I hoped others would chime in from the ship. I love seeing/hearing what other people's take is compared to mine...

Yup - packages make zero sense for my situation on longer voyages. For two days, I got more than the package price out of it!

Anyone else get a survey from VV asking about West Coast sailings and how likely you would be to book, etc? PLEASE say it's true!!!! I would be so happy to not have to fly to Miami...

Agreed - the whole reason I upgraded on this short one was for specialty dining...it was a no-brainer!

Sadly, nothing there. No charge to card. No FCD on Princess account. I'm not overly upset.

Glad you made it safely to Seattle, but sorry you have to leave now. This really was too short! I had the BEST time and now just want to jump right back on another ship. If only work/money didn't prevent that. I got my final folio through this morning - all correct. What still hasn't happened is the FCD purchase that I made through the app. When I submitted it, I got the screen that said it would be processed within 48 hours and an email confirmation would be sent. I didn't think to take a screenshot, but I'm suspecting that the app crapped out and the order didn't go through as so far I've got nothing. Oh well. My next booked cruises are Virgin in December, NCL in March, and I do have a Princess booked in March but likely going to cancel - it's a 15 day Hawaii and for that length of cruise the packages no longer make sense when travelling with kids. I would do it without a package, but not going to pay for all the extras that used to be included (Alfredos, Ocean Now, room service all very heavily utililised by us)..For me, personally, short cruises with the package are still a great deal/fit on Princess but anything over 7 days is out for the forseeable future. Sorry, Princess.

Yes! It was a 2 day SEA-YVR, a 3 day SEA-SEA, and a long cruise SEA-AUS. Today, there will be a whole host of folks boarding in Vancouver for the 9 day YVR-HNL but it wasn't allowed to do Seattle to Honolulu due to the PVSA.

Just off Royal Princess and used premiere package in Alfredos and Ocean Terrace. For Alfredos, the first time we ordered a pizza to share, plus the veal dish each. We didn't want apps or dessert. Not an issue. The second time, we ONLY ordered the veal dish each. Not an issue. In Ocean Now, we ordered one app, one nigri, and 4 rolls. Not an issue. It seems that if you have the package you can pretty much choose/sub/omit anything that falls within the prix fixe menu.

Sorry I went MIA there for a while... We tied up in Vancouver just after 9am and then had to wait for clearance from the authorities. Platinum/Elite lounge was in Princess Live and the host told us she would escort us in groups of 10 to the gangway once we got clearance. We were in the first group of 10 and left the lounge at 9:40am. The line to the gangway was HUGE but we bypassed it by going through the "secret" door near the shops. Easy walk off, handed in customs form, and was in my house by 10am. Caught up on work and debated going into the office this afternoon, but the weather is nasty...so will work the day from home. Completed the Princess survey but didn't get confirmation (or charge) for the FCC that I bought onboard through the app. No idea if it went through - with that app anything is possible. Thanks for following along - hopefully those that are staying on the ship will keep this going!

You can usually drop around 9:30am but since our ship isn’t getting in until then, I’m not sure about this time! I can see Vancouver out the window. Not sure why we aren’t docking until then…

2:30am and we just called it a night. So fun this evening. We saw some very questionable activities- too much alcohol and zero inhibitions. Say no more. Plan for tomorrow is to be up and out asap!

Recap: This has been the most fun two days ever! A few bumps in the road, including rough seas, bestie getting seasick, a few grouchy staff, but overall so much fun!!!! We made so many new friends. We danced until the early hours. We ate and drank far too much. What’s not to love?!

Ok, so at 9:30pm I was at 11 of 15 drinks. I was concerned I would hit my limit and get cut off. It’s now 1:30am and I have been drinking ever since. I’m still at 11 drinks. I LOVE Francis and Joseph at Good Spirits. Also, this shot that just keeps appearing is called the Jam donut (?) it is to die for!
