Usually a referred to corporate finance means that you had refundable obc left at the end of a cruise and it is the amount of the refund. it is an accounting entry to zero out the account.

Normally it would only be at the end of a back to back cruise. I suspect in your case the on board charges for the first wad in AUD and the second is in USD. As a result they probably zerod the account at the end of the first instead of trying to deal with the currency change for account transferring to the second.

That makes sense as to the 2 entries. A discrepancy had to be cleared. Mahalo

I have stayed in E731 on the Crown a couple times and that is always my first choice of cabin on that ship.  No noise on starboard side E728 is above the lounge so it would be my second choice.
On the Crown Emerald deck is covered but Dolphin is not, you’ll have to check the deck plan or look for photos of the aft for the Majestic.

Royal Class vs Crown Class. Our favorite cabins are E731 and E730 on Crown Class, they are the full aft extended balcony fully covered mini suites. Not the same on the Majestic. E728 is a Owners suite and E731 is an aft facing Deluxe Balcony.

  3. We have been on the Majestic Princess since 03/31. We started with a 10day Queensland cruise with was in AUD, and now since 04/10 a 30day Transpacific cruise using USD. Besides the daily trips to GS to get random bar charges removed as we have Plus, on the 10th we each got a "Referred to Corporate Finance" charge. I asked on my daily visit what the charge was for and was at first told, I don't know, then maybe it has to be due to the AUD to USD conversion. Today, 2 days after the 1st charge, another one is posted. I'm getting to know all the GS agents. This is getting old,not really taking up my time as I go at 0500 while getting my wife's coffee.

We'll be relieved when we see the Solstice leave the berth!  Stay tuned..

Ship location now showing us heading back in correct direction to Sydney. Arrival time has been updated to 1100. We'll see if this holds. No announcement from the Captain yet.

Just got under the door notice. Celebrity to leave at 0930 and we plan on arriving at Noon.

  5. Here’s the update: Seems the port just closed down. I was upfront waiting to see who was brave(stupid) enough to attempt a boarding in 39mph winds Deck 17 and above have been closed since 3 or so.. Captain just came on and we will be loitering into the wind and “hope” to get into the port sometime mid morning. Enjoy your sleep in and check status in the am.We love the motion of the ocean. Back to the bar!!

  6. Just before heading out for pre-dinner drinks the Captain came on the in room speaker system, that's when I know it's something important. I heard something yesterday about increasing speed  but today didn't see much over 17 kts. He said the weather in Sydney, primarily the wind and swell condition has caused concern from the harbor pilots. We will now be picking up the pilot from Newcastle. Our speed is at max now and latest is 24kts. Celebrity is "supposed" to be off the dock at 1845 on the 9th and the Captain hopes to be in the berth in Sydney by 2000. You can catch the ship coming in early.

On the Island Princess last September, my mattress had a trench down the middle of it from many years of use. My room steward hunted for another one, but said they were all equally bad. At my request, he gave me a stack of bath towels which I used to fill the sag from underneath the mattress. It helped, but towels don't provide the cushioning of a good mattress.

Princess needs to buy new beds! Adding a pillowtop pad to a worn-out mattress is simply a half-measure.

The bed we had last year on the Crown was the worst I've ever had. Should've tried the towels. I ended up putting room service trays under the mattress to try and get some support.

Applaud your, in your own words, "After a few beers," solution.

I am concerned for passengers who follow you, leaving sharp edges where the metal broke. For safety, have the sofa sent out to be rewelded and edges ground down.  They must have crew onboard who know how to weld. Could have it back in your cabin the same day.

Didn't work on the Regal when I asked about welding it properly. Doubt it got welded between cruises. The sofa already had broken welds, so this isn't something new. The welds are small tack welds and don't have sharp edges.

  9. On our last cruise on the Regal, our mini suite sofa had broken welds on the frame that holds the cushions up. Our room steward attempted to fix it using zipties to hold the frame up. Now on the Majestic and at least one of the cushions had a bad sag in it. I lifted the cushions and found the welds broken. I used one of the throw pillows at first to prop that one up. I'm 210lbs and soon, I felt another weld break. We are in this room for 40 days and one of the reasons we get the mini is for the sofa. After a few beers, I came up with a solution. Sofa now is level and cushions stay where they should. It only took 24 pool towels, hope there is enough left for the folks at the pool.

  10. On the Majestic now. Have my Firestick plugged in and set to go. Only problem is when I go to put in my birth month to connect to internet all I get is a shaded box with Month and the checkmark next to it. I cant select a month. I can put in all other info, cabin number, day and year of birth. Any ideas?

A few of days ago when shopping at a couple of local supermarkets for pistacchio nuts I started checking their origin. I found some were Australian (a surprise to me), one bag had no origin and a third was from USA but none from Turkiye. While there I bought some Turkish dried apricots.

I looked around while we were in Sydney and couldn't find any either.
